William & Mary: Check the DFO Scoop

UAB: We are hearing that Kristopher King has been hired as the new offensive GA at UAB.  King previously served as the tight ends coach at Gardner-Webb the past 2 seasons.

Oberlin College: Former Virginia Tech running back, Lee Suggs, has accepted the full-time running backs position with Oberlin College.  Last season, Suggs coaches with Oberlin on a part-time basis.

Philadelphia Eagles: Assistant secondary coach Otis Smith will not return.  The Eagles had recently brought in former Dallas defensive coordinator Brian Stewart to assistant with the secondary.

Bowling Green: We are hearing that DE / recruiting coordinator Doug Phillips will return to the high school ranks.  FootballScoop has confirmed that a full-time position is open, but Coach Clawson may switch around some staff responsibilities on the defensive side of the ball.
North Texas: Check the strength scoop

Midwestern State University: (NCAA Division II / Lone Star Conference) is currently seeking a Graduate Assistant Football Coach. The position includes a stipend, housing, and tuition assistance for graduate school. Coaching responsibilities to include but not limited to Defensive Backs. Experience playing and coaching Defensive Backs preferred. Responsibilities include all aspects of the football program, including but not limited to, practice organization, contest preparation, recruitment weekends, student athlete development, spring football practice, and other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Western Connecticut State University: an NCAA Division III member, competing in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, invites applications for multiple part-time football coaching positions.  The review of applications begins immediately. These positions begin August 1, 2009 and continue until the end of the fall semester.  Contracts are renewable for the spring semester.  Duties will include recruiting, coaching a position, opponent scouting & video breakdown (LRS Sports), practice preparation, and other auxiliary duties as assigned.  Compensation for these positions will include a stipend and will be commensurate with experience.   Qualifications:  Bachelor's Degree required.  Previous coaching experience, preferably at the intercollegiate level, is desirable. Knowledge and an understanding of NCAA rules/regulations for Division III Football is desired. Delaware Valley College: is no longer accepting applications for the 2 intern positions.

Fort Scott CC: FootballScoop has learned that James Lott has joined the staff as defensive coordinator.  Lott previously served on the staff at Mesa CC.  Also, former Coffeyville CC assistant, Sean Cherico, has joined the Fort Scott CC staff.

New England Patriots: We are hearing that Red Bank Catholic HS head coach Frank Edgerly has accepted a pro personnel scouting position with the Patriots.

North Alabama: We hear former volunteer assistant under Mark Hudspeth, David Boykin, has been hired as the new head coach at Caledonia HS (MS).

United States Merchant Marine Academy:  This a new position in addition to the one posted earlier last week.  Assistant Football/Assistant Baseball Coach.  Intern position - Assist the Head Coach in all phases of the Football Program including coaching your own position, scouting, recruitment of student-athletes, and other duties to be assigned. Alabama: Former Cleveland Browns general manager Phil Savage will serve as the Crimson Tide play-by-play analyst for the Crimson Tide radio network. 

San Francisco (UFL): It appears former Cincinnati Bengals' assistant coach Ricky Hunley may land the defensive coordinator job under Denny Green.

Husson University: We hear head coach Gabby Price has just resigned.

Dordt College: Former Grand Prairie HS (TX) assistant coach Brant Steffey has joined the Dordt College coaching staff.

Iowa State: Athletic director Jamie Pollards has received a contract extension through 2014 that will pay a base salary of $378,560.

Florida Atlantic University: a NCAA Division 1 institution and member of the Sun Belt Conference invites those interested in pursuing a career in Strength and Conditioning to apply for a fall semester internship with the Strength and Conditioning Department. Potential interns will acquire valuable experience and knowledge while being a positive asset to FAU and its student-athletes.  Upon successful completion of this internship, one should posses and demonstrate the required abilities to advance in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength training, conditioning and speed programs designed for 17 varsity teams, weight room upkeep, equipment maintenance and other duties assigned by the full time staff members. There will be an opportunity to have responsibility over 1 or more sports teams TBD by your prior experience, knowledge and skill level. Qualifications: Potential interns must be self motivated and possess a strong interest in becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach.  Candidates should have prior weight room experience via previous coaching experience and/or a background as a competitive athlete. In addition, candidates should be pursuing or just completed a Bachelors or Masters degree in exercise science or a related field a well as working towards a certification with the CSCCa or NSCA. Compensation: Class credit toward graduation requirements, valuable experience and knowledge and earned recommendation to pursue the next step in your career.
