Idaho State: We are hearing the Idaho State plans to renew the contract of head coach John Zamberlin, despite a winless record this season.  We hear the school will extend Zamberlin's contract for the next 2 seasons.

Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs have demoted wide receivers coach Dedric Ward.  Richie Anderson will now serve as wide receivers coach.  It is unclear about the new role for Ward.

Georgia State: We are hearing that Georgia State has an assistant coaching job open.

Louisville: Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network is reporting that if Louisville makes a change, the school will make a strong push to lure Jon Gruden.

Kentucky State: Our sources are telling us that Kentucky State officials have talked to at least 4 individuals regarding the head coaching position.  We hear that Millsaps College defensive line coach Lane Powell is a candidate.

San Diego State: Head coach Brady Hoke has signed a 5-year contract for $3,250,000. Check out the details of the contract in Coaches Quick Hits.

Valdosta High School (GA): After losing to crosstown rival Lowdnes 57-15, Valdosta HS has notified head coach Rick Tomberlin that his contract will not be renewed next season.  Valdosta HS is the nation's winningest high school football program. Tomberlin was givin the option to resign immediately or finish out the season.  He has chosen to finish the season.

Pacific: We are hearing that head coach Keith Buckley has made his first hire.  Buckley will name a former local high school head coach Mike McCabe to his first staff.  McCabe previously served as the head coach at Forest Grove HS (CA). McCabe will work on the offensive side of the ball.

New Mexico: A New Mexico radio station is reporting Mike Locksley will be suspended for the UNLV game. Locksley will be suspended for 8 working days. We hear George Barlow (assistant head coach / secondary) will serve as interim head coach.

Milwaukee Iron (Arena 1): Green Bay Blizzard head coach Bob Landsee is leaving to accept the head coaching position with the Milwaukee Iron.  Landsee (45) is a former University of Wisconsin player.

Akron: FootballScoop has learned that former Toledo offensive coordinator Chris Hedden has joined the Akron staff. We hear that offensive coordinator Shane Montgomery will move from tight ends to running backs.  Hedden will coach the tight ends.  As we reported last week, head coach JD Brookhart was going to move very quickly in filling the open position.

New Mexico: Assistant coach JB Gerald has resigned.

New Mexico: We are hearing that New Mexico will hold a news conference tomorrow to announce an update on head coach Mike Locksley.  We hear a suspension and/or fine is possible. 

Hawaii: We hear Hawaii will be looking to fill a grad assistant position after the season.  Hawaii was not able to hire a new grad assistant when former offensive GA, Craig Stutzmann, left just before the season to accept the wide receivers job at Portland State.

Washington Redskins: According to NFL.com's Jason La Canfora, special teams coordinator Danny Smith and secondary coach Jerry Gray are candidates to step in as interim head coach should the Redskins dismiss Jim Zorn.
