Florida: Sources tell us that New Mexico special teams coordinator / outside linebackers coach Coleman Hutzler will join the Florida staff.  Hutzler worked with defensive coordinator DJ Durkin at Florida (as a quality control coach), as well as at Stanford. We've been hearing for a few days that Jeff Choate was trying to get back on with Chris Petersen, haven't confirmed that; but sounds like that's what has happened. Will update...

Rhode Island (FCS): Sources, and multiple reports, indicate that Central Florida defensive coordinator Jim Fleming will be Rhode Island's new head coach.

Arizona Christian (NAIA): After 14 years with the Paradise Valley HS (AZ) football program, head coach Donnie Yantis has decided to take the head coaching job at Arizona Christian University, a brand new NAIA program.

Sul Ross State (D-III - TX): Sources tell us that Texas Lutheran co-defensive coordinator Braxton Harris has withdrew from consideration for the head coaching job.

Adams State (D-II - CO): Adams State is looking for a game on September 5th of 2015 (home and home option), or an FCS guarantee. Located in Alamosa, Colorado. Contact Billy Lindquist if interested at [email protected].

Pasadena CC (CA): Running backs coach / recruiting coordinator Cordell Landers has resigned to pursue other coaching opportunities.

Arkansas State: Blake Anderson's buyout is $3 million if he leaves within the first two years, the buyout then drops to $2 million for the next two years and then $1 million (five year deal). His initial salary is $700,000. Will update...

James Madison: Sources tell us that Everett Withers will be the next head coach at James Madison. Withers has spent the past two years at Ohio State as the assistant head coach / co-defensive coordinator, and prior to that was the defensive coordinator at North Carolina for three seasons. Withers served as the interim head coach at UNC during the 2011 season (going 7-5) after Butch Davis was let go.

Calgary Stampeders (Canada): The Stampeders have announced the hiring of Rich Strubler as their new defensive coordinator. Stubler spent the past two seasons running the defense for the BC Lions.

Army: Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan will be interviewed for Army's head coaching job according to Kevin Gleason of the Middletown (N.Y.) Times Herald-Record. Sullivan is a former Army player and assistant.

Idaho State (FCS): Idaho State is looking for a home (contract) game on either September 13th or 20th, 2014. Looking for a Division II or NAIA program. Contact Sheldon Cross at [email protected] if interested.

Emory and Henry (D-III - VA): Former Virginia Tech offensive line coach Curt Newsome will be named head coach at Emory and Henry tomorrow, according to a report from Allen Gregory.

Central Arkansas: Sources tell us to look for Gulf Coast CC offensive coordinator Chad Huff and receivers coach Pete Bennett to join Steve Campbell's staff at UCA.

Northeastern State (D-II - OK): Washburn (D-II - KS) offensive coordinator Rob Robinson has been named head coach at Northeastern State.

Houston Texans: Houston's first interview was with former Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith, according to the Houston Chronicle.

James Madison (FCS): Brian Stinespring, John DeFilipo and Everett Withers are finalists for the job according to the Richmond Times Dispatch

Southeast Missouri State: Tom Matukewicz has agreed to a four-year deal (running through January of 2018) worth a base salary of $130,000, with additional compensation up to $57,000 per year.

Pima CC (AZ): Former Buena HS (AZ) head coach Ryan Scherling has joined the staff as offensive coordinator.

Arkansas State: Last night we were told the only person from North Carolina that Blake Anderson definitely was taking to A-State was offensive quality control Keith Heckendorf (likely as quarterbacks coach at A-State). Will confirm later today...

Southern (FCS - LA): Head coach Dawson Odums has reportedly agreed to a new contract a contract extension, keeping him at Southern.

Robert Morris (FCS - PA): Darrin Hicks has been announced as the new offensive coordinator. Hicks most recently served as the quarterbacks coach at St. Augustine University (D-II - NC). Also, Cornelius Coleman has joined the staff and will coach the defensive line.

North Carolina Central (FCS): Sources tell us South Alabama receivers coach Jerry Mack has accepted the head coaching position at NCCU. 

Blinn (JC): Blinn College announced Keith Thomas as their new head coach Wednesday. Thomas, a 35 year coaching veteran, served as the head coach at Navarro College (1994-1997) and spent 13 seasons as a head coach at the high school level in Texas. He most recently served as the Housing Director at Blinn.

FAU: Dan Shula is joining Charlie Partridge's staff as an offensive assistant. Shula most recently coached the receivers at Illinois State.

Arkansas State: UNC offensive coordinator Blake Anderson will be announced as the new head coach at a press conference this afternoon. Anderson will not coach North Carolina in the Belk Bowl.

Central Arkansas: The university has now confirmed that Steve Campbell is the program's new head coach.

College of Idaho (NAIA): Sources tell us that Chris Petrilli, who served as an offensive assistant last season at Charleston Southern working with the receivers and running backs, has joined the staff at the College of Idaho and is serving as defensive backs coach / special teams coordinator.

Sad news to pass along as we understand that former coach Jeff Menage passed away unexpectedly yesterday at the young age of 49. Menage was in the business nearly 20 years, with coaching stops at Minnesota, Murray State, North Dakota and South Dakota State in addition to his quarterback coaching that he did as well for various players. He is missed by many in the profession. Please keep his family in your thoughts. 

FAU: It is being reported that Charlie Partridge has offered Brian Wright the offensive coordinator position. 

Central Arkansas (FCS): Sources tell us late tonight that Mississippi Gulf Coast (CC) head coach Steve Campbell has agreed to become head coach at Central Arkansas. 

Abilene Christian: ACU announced tonight that they have signed head coach Ken Collums to a new four year contract (terms not disclosed). 

Arkansas State: Sources tell us that UNC offensive coordinator Blake Anderson will be the new head coach at Arkansas State. Here's what you need to know

Texas A&M: Co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Jake Spavital has been promoted to offensive coordinator and will take over the play calling duties. Clarence McKinney remains coaching the running backs. 

Arizona State: In connection with his promotion to "deputy head coach" (we're using the term deputy now?), Mike Norvell has received a $200,000 raise, making his new salary $700,000. 

Central Arkansas: According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's Jeremy Muck, multiple sources have stated that Abilene Christian head coach Ken Collums will be named the program's new head coach. Update> Multiple sources have told us that this is not a done deal. It is our understanding that no offer has been made at this time. We will update... 7:45pm Update> Ken Collums has now put out a statement stating that no offer has been made. 

Georgia Southern: Georgia Southern has given Army permission to speak with head coach Jeff Monken. 

Texas: The school has announced that athletics director Steve Patterson has appointed an eight-person advisory committee to find Mack Brown's replacement. Texas has also hired the Korn/Ferry International search firm. 

Boise State: Sources confirm to us that Stanford quarterbacks coach Mike Sanford will join the Boise State staff as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach. Would expect Sanford to remain with Stanford through the Rose Bowl. 

Bowling Green: Eastern Illinois (FCS) head coach Dino Babers will be the new head coach at Bowling Green per Joe Schad. The school has now announced the hiring. Here's what you need to know.

New Mexico: Tight ends coach Derek Warehime has been promoted to run game coordinator, the school announced today. 

Washington: Boise State quarterbacks coach Jonathan Smith will join Chris Petersen's staff according to Adam Jude of the Seattle Times

Washington: Sources tell us Chris Petersen has offered Fresno State director of football operations Mike McHugh the same position. Updated on DFO Scoop

Boise State: Gerald Alexander, a grad assistant under Bryan Harsin at Arkansas State, will join the staff in a "capacity to be determined" according to Bronco Beat.

Illinois: Tim Beckman announced today that Bill Cubit has agreed to a one-year contract extension that includes a pay increase to $500,000 annually. The extension takes him through the 2015 season. 

Boise State: Multiple outlets are reporting, and we can confirm, that Texas A&M co-defensive coordinator / secondary coach Marcel Yates will join the Boise State staff as defensive coordinator. Yates coached the defensive backs at Boise State for nine seasons until 2011 and also played there.

Kentucky: Mark Stoops announced today that he is working on some "changes and promotions" among his current staff, and plans to keep the staff intact.

Jackson State (FCS): The school has announced that head coach Rick Comegy and his staff will not return.

Arizona State: The program has announced that offensive coordinator Mike Norvell has added the title of "Deputy Head Coach".

UConn: Bob Diaco announced this morning that tight ends coach Mike Foley will be retained.

Rutgers: Mitch Browning has officially joined the staff as offensive line coach.

North Dakota: Sources tell us that both SIU coordinators, Kalen DeBoer and Bubba Schweigert, are finalists for the head job at UND. Will update...

Florida Atlantic: Jovan Dewitt has been retained as FAU's defensive coordinator by Charlie Partridge according to Dieter Kurtenbach of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Earlier in the week Jovan had secured a position at FIU; but looks as if Charlie has convinced him to stay. Good move by Charlie. Update: Tight ends coach Jared Allen has also been retained according to Kurtenbach. Both roles are to be determined. 

University of Mary (D-II - ND): Sources tell us South Dakota (FCS) defensive coordinator Jason Petrino has interviewed at Mary for the head job. 

Adrian College (D-III - MI): Adrian College is looking to fill two open dates for a home and home on September 2nd, 2017 and September 8th, 2018. If interested please email [email protected].

Winnipeg Blue Bombers (Canada): Marcel Bellefeuille has been named offensive coordinator for next season. Bellefeuille joined the club in August, and has previously served as the head coach of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

UConn: Bob Diaco stated this morning that he'll look to complete his staff after the first of the year. Word within the profession is that he won't keep many, if any of the current assistants. Will update... Diaco said this morning that he will retain only Mike Foley. 

Air Force: Former Wake Forest defensive coordinator Brian Knorr is in talks to return to his alma mater as a defensive assistant, according to The Gazette.

Arizona State: We told you earlier today on twitter that Mike Norvell wasn't leaving ASU. Now, multiple outlets are reporting that ASU is working on a new contract for him. Will update...

James Madison: Sources tell us that both George Barlow (Vanderbilt defensive backs) and Brian Stinespring (Virginia Tech tight ends / recruiting coordinator) interviewed today for the job. Based on what we're hearing, we'd look for a new head coach to be in place by the end of the week.

Washington: Sources tell us former Florida offensive coordinator Brent Pease plans to join Chris Petersen's staff as receivers coach. 

Boise State: Defensive line coach Andy Avalos and tight ends/fullbacks/special teams coach Scott Huff will remain on Bryan Harsin's staff per a release from the University. Huff will move back to offensive line, Avalos' position is to be determined.  

Southeast Missouri State (FCS): Sources tell us Tuke is planning to bring Toledo safeties coach Bryce Saia as defensive coordinator at SEMO. 

North Dakota State College of Science (JC): Merle Johnson has been hired as head coach. His first day on the job will be January 1. 

Loras College (D-III - IA): Loras College has promoted associate head coach/offensive line coach Steve Helminiak to head coach. 

Hampton (FCS - VA): Well that was interesting... Hampton has now announced the hiring of Winston Salem State (D-II) head coach Connell Maynor as head coach.

Dakota Wesleyan: Dakota Wesleyan University is no longer accepting applicants for their vacant defensive grad assistant position. Thank you for the overwhelming interest.

Southeast Missouri: We've been telling you this on twitter for about a week now; but we hear Toledo defensive coordinator Tom Matukewicz will be named head coach at SEMO in the next 24-28 hours. 

Wilkes University (D-III - PA): Head coach Frank Sheptock has stepped down after 18 seasons leading the program. Sheptock has accepted an administrative position as the Director of Athletics at Berwick Area School District (PA).

Florida:  ESPN reporter Jeff Barlis says to expect Will Muschamp to make his offensive coordinator hire within the week.

Miami (OH): Miami has now officially announced the hires that we told you about weeks ago. George Barnett (offensive line) and Eric Koehler (quarterbacks) will serve as co-offensive coordinators, and Pat Welsh will coach the tight ends. Welsh spent the past two seasons as a grad assistant at Notre Dame working with Chuck Martin.

Rhode Island (FCS): A source tells us that Ben Albert (Boston College defensive line coach), Tom Masella (Wagner associate head coach / offensive coordinator), John Perry (Delaware quarterbacks coach / passing game coordinator), and Jim Fleming (Central Florida defensive coordinator) are among the finalists for the head coaching job.

Hampton (FCS - VA): Sources tell us the head job at Hampton is coming open. Look for an announcement later today or tomorrow...

Stephen F. Austin: We'll have a more full rundown for you guys soon on who is going to Stephen F. Austin with coach Conque; but Matt Williamson is headed there as defensive coordinator (same role he had at UCA). Offensive line coach Bill Best is going as well. More to come...

Holy Cross: Former Maryland deputy athletic director Nate Pine has been hired as the new athletic director at Holy Cross.

Miami (OH): Athletic director David Sayler has received a five-year contract extension taking him through the 2018-2019 season.

Kenyon College (D-III - OH): Former offensive coordinator Kyle Cutnaw has been named head coach at Bluffton HS (OH). Cutnaw served as offensive coordinator for the program from 2008-2010.

Boise State: Kent Riddle will join Bryan Harsin's staff as special teams coordinator. Riddle coached the same for Harsin at Arkansas State. 

Stanford: Not sure this really needs to be written here; but once again David Shaw made it very clear tonight that he isn't leaving Stanford any time soon...like don't ask again for the next 5 years. Seriously. 

FIU: Sources tell us FAU defensive coordinator Jovan Dewitt plans to join FIU's staff as linebackers coach. 

Weber State: Jay Hill has made another big hire from Southern Utah, landing defensive coordinator Justin Ena as well as Steve Clark and Fesi Sitaki (who we previously told you about). Ena will be defensive coordinator at Weber, Clark will be offensive coordinator and Sitake is expected to coach the receivers. 

Southern Utah: Defensive backs coach Demario Warren will be promoted to defensive coordinator. 

Whitworth (D-III - WA): Sources tell us that Wheaton College (D-III - IL) defensive coordinator Rod Sandberg has accepted the head coaching job. Sandberg had served as Wheaton's defensive coordinator for 11 seasons, with 19 years total on the staff.

Arkansas State: Sources tell us that A-State representatives hit the road this weekend to interview some of the hottest offensive coordinators in the game. We hear Chad Morris - Clemson, Mike Norvell - Arizona State, Philip Montgomery - Baylor and Neal Brown - Kentucky all spoke w A-State. Will update...Chad Morris said tonight all A-State conversations have been with his agent. He indicated to Rivals that he would not be the guy at A-State. 

Wofford: Head coach Mike Ayers has announced that longtime assistant coach Nate Fuqua has been promoted to defensive coordinator. Fuqua was an All-American nose tackle for Wofford before joining the staff where he has coached the inside and outside linebackers over the past nine seasons.

Sul Ross State (D-III - TX): Sources tell us that Sul Ross State is down to three finalists for the head coaching job. Those three guys are Scott Carey (Colorado School of Mines run game coordinator / offensive line coach), John Pearce (former Prairie View & Blinn defensive coordinator), and Braxton Harris (Texas Lutheran co-defensive coordinator / linebackers coach / recruiting coordinator).

Misericordia (D-III - PA): Misericordia University is seeking to fill an open date in 2014. September 6 is available. Willing to play home or away vs. D-III opponent. Would prefer a home game to balance out our schedule. Please contact head coach Mark Ross at 570-674-1228 to discuss 

Ball State: As we told you yesterday, Joey Lynch has been promoted to offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach. Nick Tabacca has been promoted to run game coordinator and defensive line coach Chad Wilt has added the recruiting coordinator title and responsibilities. 

Southeastern Oklahoma State (D-II): Southeastern Oklahoma State University (NCAA D-II/Great American Conference): Southeastern Oklahoma State University is seeking a football graduate assistant (defensive). Qualifications include acceptance into the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Graduate Program. Graduate Assistant package includes tuition and a monthly stipend (10 months). TCU: Sonny Cumbie confirmed on Lubbock radio this morning he has joined TCU's staff as quarterbacks coach.

Wake Forest: Citadel head coach Kevin Higgins plans to join Dave Clawson's staff (per Jeff Hartsell of the Charleston Post & Courier). Will update... Sources tell us Higgins will serve as receivers coach / assistant head coach.

FAU: Charlie Partridge's deal will be a 5-year deal worth $2.76 million, according to ESPN.

Notre Dame: Mike Elston has made it clear, he's not leaving Notre Dame. Also, grad assistant Josh Reardon will coach the linebackers in the interim. 

Bowling Green: Four guys in consideration for the Bowling Green head job are D.J. Durkin (Florida), Ed Warriner (Ohio State), Rob Ambrose (Towson) and Dino Babers (EIU) per Pete Thamel. 

          Boise State AD: I've had a short list since the day I was hired

UAB: Sources tell us that Garrick McGee let "his entire defensive staff go" let a number of defensive assistants go last night. Will update... A source tells us that defensive line coach Kevin Peoples has not been let go. 

North Dakota State: Chris Klieman's contract will be a five year deal worth $261,000 in base salary, with $326,000 guaranteed before bonuses, according to NDSU sports writer Jeff Kolpack.

Marquette: Athletic director / vice president Larry Williams has stepped down to pursue other interests. Former athletic director Bill Cords will serve as the interim vice president and director of athletics until a replacement is found.

Clemson: Our condolences go out to the family and loved ones of former Clemson coach Tom Bass, who served as an assistant under five coaches in his 14 years on staff and sadly passed away over the weekend. Coach Bass was 78.

Army: Rich Ellerson will not return as Army head coach according to multiple outlets. Here's what you need to know.

Texas: Bill Powers and Steve Patterson met with the media today. Powers went out of his way to say that Patterson will be making this hire. Patterson added that he expects the next head coach to have pretty extensive college coaching experience.

Ball State: Word within the profession is that tight ends coach (and former Ball State quarterback) Joey Lynch will be promoted to offensive coordinator. 

North Dakota State (FCS): Defensive coordinator Chris Klieman will be the new head coach. Klieman won the 2012 FootballScoop FCS Coordinator of the Year. Here's what you need to know

Washington Redskins: Adam Schefter reports that Mike Shanahan will not resign following this season. Says his contract is "ironclad". Sounds like Dan Snyder will likely be stroking another large check. 

Kansas Wesleyan (NAIA): Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS is looking for a graduate assistant football coach (WR). Requirements include acceptance into the Kansas Wesleyan University Graduate program (MBA Business Administration and MBA Sports Management). Graduate assistant package includes tuition waiver, room and board and a monthly stipend. Review of candidates will begin immediately and interviews will take place at the AFCA convention. Chadron State (D-II - NE): Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska is looking to fill open dates in 2014. We are needing a game week 2, on September 13th, 2014. Our preference would be a home and home game but are willing to look at other options. We will play an FCS guarantee game or a D-II team. Tennessee Tech (FCS): Sources tell us Austin Peay (FCS - TN) defensive line coach Pat Donohoe will join the Tennessee Tech staff. 

Bill O'Brien: Bill O'Brien has been contacted by both the Texans and the Vikings according to Jason LaCanfora. There has also been a good bit of speculation in the profession that O'Brien could be a strong candidate with the Redskins down the road. It's early; but it sure does seem plausible that O'Brien could move back to the league this this off-season. 

Kyle Shanahan: Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that Kyle Shanahan has decided "it is no longer worth it" to work with his father. Rapoport says to look for Kyle to go his own path following the season.
