Auburn: Multiple media outlets are now reporting that Oklahoma State wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor has accepted a position on Gene Chizik's staff at Auburn.

Clemson: We hear the new staff is set as follows: Kevin Steele (defensive coordinator / linebackers), David Blackwell (defensive tackles), Chris Rumph (defensive ends), Charlie Harbison (defensive backs), Brad Scott (centers, guards, executive HC), Ron West's exact position is still to be determined.  Danny Pearman (tackles, tight ends, assistant HC), Billy Napier (cffensive coordinator / quarterbacks), Jeff Scott (wide receivers), Andre Powell (running backs / special teams coordinator), Donald Hymel (asst DFO), Andy Johnston (DFO), Woody McCorvey (executive AD for football relations). 

Green Bay Packers: 6 assistants will not return.  Bob Sanders (defensive coordinator), Carl Hairston (defensive ends), Robert Nunn (defensive tackles), Kurt Schottenheimer (secondary), Lionel Washington (defensive nickel package / corners), and Rock Gullickson (strength coach). 

LSU: Sources tell FootballScoop that Les Miles has just hired South Carolina safeties coach Ron Cooper.

NY Jets: The NY Jets will interview Cardinals assistant Russ Grimm.


Kentucky State: There will be 2 internship opportunities available at Kentucky State University for the 2009 season.  These interns will have their own position and will assist with film breakdown, editing system input, scouting report preparation and assist with duties similar to that of a graduate assistant.  Positions will include meals and a small stipend to assist with housing.  Must have a bachelor's degree, clean record and be willing to work hard and maintain a professional image on campus.  If interested, please send resume and references to head coach Fred T. Kansas State: Sources tell FootballScoop that Utah offensive line coach Charlie Dickey has arrived in Manhattan and will start work today as the new offensive line coach at Kansas State.

Alabama State: Sources tell FootballScoop that Raines HS (FL) head coach Cedric Thornton will be named inside linebackers coach at Alabama State.

Georgia: We hear head coach Mark Richt is trying to keep assistant coach Rodney Garner with the Bulldogs staff.  Garner has interviewed with Lane Kiffin at Tennessee.

Illinois State: We hear head coach Brock Spack is interested in former Louisiana-Monroe co-defensive coordinator Phil Elmassian.  Spack and Elmassian have worked together at Purdue.

New Mexico State: We hear Nebraska-Kearney defensive line coach Jesse Williams will join his good friend DeWayne Walker at New Mexico State.

Oregon: Wide receivers coach Robin Plugrad and defensive line coach Michael Gray will not have coaching positions on the Duck's staff when Chip Kelly takes over the reigns of the program.  Sources tell FootballScoop that a new wide receivers coach is already in place.

South Alabama: Sources tell FootballScoop that head coach Joey Jones is interested in hiring former New Mexico State head coach Hal Mumme as offensive coordinator.

TCU: We hear wide receiver coach Jarrett Anderson is a candidate to replace Mike Shultz as offensive coordinator.  Shultz left to become the offensive coordinator at Illinois.

UT-Chattanooga: We hear recent Richmond graduate Will Healy will join the staff as an offensive assistant.

MacMurray College (Illinois): Assistant Football Coach/Residence Life Athletic Liaison. located in Jacksonville, Illinois. MacMurray College is a proud member of NCAA Division III and the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  This is ten-month position in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Responsibilities: Assist the head coach in the overall administration and logistics of the football program, coaching own position, maintain and build own recruiting area and other duties to be assigned. Participate in RA training, provide two programs per month for the residence hall community on fitness and health, one night per week of residence life duty, serve as the staff member on duty for breaks when student athletes are required to stay on campus, serve as a role model and resource person for all students, and respond to all emergencies when in the building.   Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, collegiate playing and/or coaching experience, excellent communication skills, leadership and organizational abilities, and a dedication to recruiting. Auburn: Former Iowa State special teams coordinator / running backs coach Jay Bowlware is joining the Auburn staff. Also, Oklahoma State co-offensive coordinator Trooper Taylor is interviewing at Auburn today. 

Southern Miss: Despite previous newspaper and internet reports, Greg Knox has not been hired as running backs coach at Southern Miss.

Tennessee: We hear Lane Kiffin is interviewing former Mississippi State head coach Sylvester Croom.

Auburn: We hear Gene Chizik is targeting a former head coach and current defensive coordinator for the Auburn defensive coordinator job.

Cal Poly: We hear Cal Poly officials have spoken with Boise State wide receivers coach Brent Pease.

Florida: We hear Detroit Lions and former Michigan quarterbacks coach Scott Loeffler will likely be named quarterbacks coach at Florida.

Kansas State: Dave Brock has been rehired, although it is uncertain as to which position Brock will coach.  Brock served as offensive coordinator last season while under head coach Ron Prince.  As we reported over a week ago, Utah offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig will be the Kansas State offensive coordinator.

Iowa State: Rice offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Tom Herman is joining the Iowa State staff in the same capacity.

Illinois: We hear Detroit Lions assistant Joe Cullen is interested in returning to Illinois.

LSU: San Fransico 49ers defensive backs coach Vance Joseph is staying with the 49ers.  Despite a newspaper report, FootballScoop has confirmed Joseph is not heading to LSU.

New Mexico: We hear LSU co-defensive coordinator Doug Mallory has arrived in New Mexico.

New Mexico State: We hear DeWayne Walker is interested in hiring Angus McClure as offensive line coach.  Sources also tell FootballScoop that Walker is talking with more than one of the current assistants at New Mexico State. 

New York Jets: The Jets would like to interview Boston College head coach Jeff Jagodzinski.

San Francisco 49ers: We hear Buffalo University defensive tackles coach Vantz Singletary will be joining the 49ers staff.

Tennessee: Head coach Lane Kiffin is trying to lure Georgia defensive line coach Rodney Garner to join the Tennessee staff.  Garner has been to Knoxville to interview.

Toledo: Sources tell FootballScoop that Appalachian State quarterbacks coach / play caller Scott Satterfield has accepted the co-offensive coordinator job at Toledo.

Washington: We hear Steve Sarkisian is making a strong push to lure USC defensive coordinator Nick Holt to join the Washington staff.


Stonehill College: (NCAA Division II - Northeast 10 Conference) located in Easton, Massachusetts is seeking to fill the Offensive Coordinator position.  The position requires a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for coaching an offensive skill position and overseeing the organization and implementation of our offensive schemes.  The position will also require on and off campus recruiting and other duties as assigned by the head coach.  Potential candidates should have at least 5 years of coaching experience (preferable college coaching) and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. This is a full-time 12 month coaching position and salary will be in the range of $34,000 - $38,000 based on qualifications and experience. Central Carolina Sports Academy: a post graduate program located in the Piedmont Triad (Winston-Salem/Greensboro/High Point ) North Carolina. Is launching a national search for several coaching positions: Full time offensive line coach pay is in the low $20's. The job would be good for a young coach, a coach looking to return to school (Several Graduate school are in the area/or a person looking to work on teacher certification). Coach will have recruiting area and full time coaching duties. The coach will have contact with many of the four year programs in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virgina.
