Arizona Cardinals: We hear quarterbacks coach Jeff Rutledge has been dismissed. 

Cal Poly: Mel Kaufman, who served as the linebackers coach at Cal Poly, has unexpectedly passed away at the age of 50.  Please keep his family in your thoughts.

Carolina Panthers: Richard Smith has accepted the linebackers job.  Ron Milus will coach the secondary. 

Kansas State: Former Arizona assistant Dana Dimel will be joining the Kansas State coaching staff under Bill Snyder. 

Methodist: Keven Williams is joining the staff as wide receivers coach.

Rutgers: Check the DFO Scoop on the bottom right hand side of the homepage.

Southwestern Oklahoma: Toby Trotter has been named secondary coach.

Tampa Bay Bucs: Our sources tell us Alfredo Roberts has joined the Bucs' staff as tight ends coach.

Yale: Our sources tell us that Stanford offensive assistant Mike Sanford will be joining the Yale staff as tight ends coach / recruiting coordinator.

Memphis: FootballScoop has just learned that University of Memphis defensive coordinator Tim Walton has accepted the defensive backs job with the Detroit Lions.

Arizona Cardinals: We hear Pittsburgh Steelers linebackers coach Keith Butler will interview for the defensive coordinator job with the Cardinals.

Dordt College: Grand Prairie HS (TX) assistant coach Brant Steffey has joined the Dordt College football staff as an assistant coach.

LSU: Our sources tell us Central Arkansas head coach Clint Conque is interested in the tight ends / assistant offensive line job at LSU.

Missouri: We hear LSU tight ends coach Josh Henson is heading to Missouri as co-offensive line coach. 

Western New England: We hear Ben Morrie has been hired as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach.

Denver Broncos: The Broncos have hired Roman Phifer as assistant linebackers coach.  This is the first coaching assignment for the former NFL star linebacker.

University of Houston: Sam Houston State offensive line coach B.J. Anderson is heading to Houston in the same capacity.

Kansas State: Offensive assistant Dave Brock is leaving Kansas State to accept the tight ends job at Boston College.

Middle Tennessee State: Nichols State defensive coordinator Steve Ellis is joining the MTSU staff as cornerbacks coach.

New York Jets: Former University of Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Matt Cavanaugh is the new quarterbacks coach.  Ben Kotwica has been retained as assistant special teams coach.  Brian Smith has been retained as well, but moves to the defensive quality control position. 

North Carolina A&T: We hear head coach Alonzo Lee will hired Chennis Berry as co-offensive coordinator / offensive line coach.  Berry previously served as the OC / OL coach at Morgan State.  Virginia State offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Michael Morand will become the co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks & wide receivers coach.  Miles College defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Maurice Johnson is expected to accept the defensive coordinator / linebackers job.  Travis Oliver (defensive backs), George Ragsdale (running backs), and Tayrone Odum (defensive line) have all been retained. 

North Dakota State: We hear former Wyoming defensive coordinator Mike Breske and Ohio University cornerbacks coach David Brown are the finalists for the defensive coordinator position.

Southern Virginia: Offensive coordinator DeLane Fitzgerald has been promoted to interim head coach.

Trinity Bible College: Dustin Morgan has accepted the head coaching position.
Monday February 9, 2009 (Update 5)

Auburn: We hear Ole Miss assistant Chris Vaughn will remain at Ole Miss after being courted by Auburn head coach Gene Chizik.  The Tigers have yet to hire a secondary coach.

Cincinnati: We hear head coach Brian Kelly has dismissed defensive coordinator Joe Tressey.

Oakland Raiders: The Raiders have hired Jim Michalczik as offensive coordinator.  Michalczik leaves the University of Washington staff a month on the job, where he was serving as offensive coordinator / offensive line coach.

Utah: Our sources tell us that Rice offensive line coach Blake Miller is heading to Utah to become the offensive line coach.
