Johnson C. Smith University: Daryl McNeill has been dismissed as head football coach. McNeill recently completed his fourth season with a 3-7 record and 2-5 CIAA conference record.
Kansas State: It seems likely that Kansas State will offer the job to former head coach Bill Snyder. Athletic director Bob Krause has stated, "You want a person that has had experience and a winning track record as a head coach." Snyder is 69 years old and the Kansas State fans would welcome him back. If Snyder chooses not to return as coach, his top recommendation will likely be Notre Dame Assistant Head Coach / Offensive Line Coach, John Latina. Latina joined the Kansas State staff in 1989 as offensive line coach and running game coordinator. He spent five seasons with the Wildcats, where he coached two future NFL draft picks and five others who inked free-agent contracts. His 1993 Kansas State team won the Copper Bowl and finished 9-2-1 and 20th in the final AP poll.
