Tulane: Our sources have just told us that former Fleming HS (FL) assistant, Joel Brighton, has just accepted the defensive GA position at Tulane.

It always happens this time of year.  Right before August practice begins, 2-3 really good jobs open up.

Portland State University: an NCAA FCS institution and a member of the Big Sky Conference, is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Assistant Football Coach/Wide Receivers.  The position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of developing and advancing a competitive football program in the Big Sky Conference. This includes, but is not limited to: coaching, recruiting, and counseling student-athletes; managing selected administrative duties of the program; fundraising and public relations; supervising assistants. Compliance with all the rules and regulations of the university, NCAA, and Big Sky Conference is expected. Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree required or NFL Assistant coaching experience.  Minimum three years collegiate coaching / collegiate competition required. Preferred qualifications: Masters degree with five years collegiate coaching experience and/or NFL coaching experience.  Demonstrate excellent professional/interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrate a commitment to the total welfare of student-athletes.  Demonstrate a commitment to developing a successful Division I football program both academically and athletically. Must become 1st Aid/CPR certified before on field coaching occurs. The internship program is designed to provide coaches with a rich blend of coaching and administrative experience at a competitive NCAA, Division II private college. These, administrative, part-time positions include a stipend ranging from $6,000 to $8,000 and the following job duties: coaching their own position, practice planning, scouting, video analysis, skill and team instruction, all phases of recruiting and responsibilities as assigned by the head coach. Central Arkansas: New defensive line coach Dan Augustine will also carry the responsibility of special teams coordinator.  Augustine previously served on the staff at Jacksonville State.

Illinois: Head coach Ron Zook has agreed to a one-year contract extension through January 2014.

North Carolina: Former University of Georgia offensive lineman, Daniel Inman, has been hired as the new offensive GA at UNC. 

Florida A&M: Juan Vasquez has been hired to coach the special teams.  The former FAMU player had been serving as a volunteer assistant for the staff.  Also, Jimmie Tyson has been promoted from defensive GA to a full-time position.

Furman: Former West Virginia student assistant, Chris Ball, is the new video coordinator at Furman.

ULM: Our sources have just told us that ULM will promote offensive GA, Marty Humphrey, to wide receivers coach.

Rutgers: We are hearing that former Albright College outside linebackers coach / video coordinator, Nate Slutzky, has accepted a position at Rutgers.  Our source tell us the Slutzky will be working with the defensive coaches and assisting with player development.

Kentucky Christian University: (NAIA, Mid South Conference) has an immediate opening for a defensive assistant.
