Washington Chiefs (MLF): Sarasota Millionaire Offensive Coordinator John Mackler has been hired as the new Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator of the Washington Chiefs of the Minor Football League.

Binghamton: AD Joel Thirer has resigned today in the wake of the dismissal of 6 basketball players.
Maryland: AD Deborah Yow wrote in an e-mail in reply to queries about Friedgen from The Baltimore Sun, "All 27 sports are reviewed at the conclusion of each season." Remember, on February 6th, the university signed an agreement promising to pay $1 million to offensive coordinator James Franklin if he is not elevated to head coach by Jan. 2, 2012.

Alabama: We are hearing through our agent sources that athletic directors seem quite interested in learning more about Alabama offensive coordinator Jim McElwain. One source tells us that a particular AD with a very stable coaching staff has done some homework already on McElwain just preparing in case an unexpected situation rises (his head coach leaving). McElwain has done a phenomenal job during his two years in Tuscaloosa. He previously served on staffs at Fresno State, Oakland Raiders, Michigan State (asst head coach 2003-05), Louisville, and Montana State.
