Arkansas State: James Bryant, who broke the news that Gus was leaving, is now confirming that Bryan Harsin will be the new head coach at Arkansas State (note from FootballScoop, we have now confirmed as well):

 

 

Wisconsin Lutheran (D-III): Head coach Dr. Dennis Miller has stepped down. The College has promoted defensive coordinator Ben Murphy to head coach. 

Old Dominion (FCS - VA): Defensive backs coach Keita Malloy will not return.

Arkansas State: Texas offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin will be named head coach at Arkansas State according to a report from SportingLifeArkansas (some of same staff from ArkansasSports360). We have not confirmed and will update. Update> Sources tell us that Harsin is "high on the list"; but we have not confirmed an offer has been made.

Southern Miss: Athletic director Jeff Hammond said Monken's contract is 4 years, approximately $750,000 per. Will update with details once they are available. 

Kentucky: Stoops has now officially added offensive line coach John Schlarman from Troy. 

San Jose State: Defensive coordinator Kent Baer will serve as interim head coach. 

Cincinnati: Sources tell us to look for Tubs to bring former Tennessee offensive line coach Sam Pittman on to his staff. 

Arkansas: Bret Bielema has hired Chris Ash to serve as the defensive coordinator. Ash will remain with Wisconsin through the Rose Bowl.

        Bob Gregory (Boise State) - 2012 Linebackers Coach of the Year

Dodge City CC (KS): Sources tell us that Josh Gooch is a candidate for the head coaching position, but the process is still ongoing. Gooch is currently the head coach at Ellsworth CC (IA). There are two other candidates involved as well. Sources tell us to look for the new head coach to be known possibly as early as Friday. 

St. Ambrose (NAIA - IA): St Ambrose University (NAIA) In Davenport, Iowa is seeking a graduate assistant to coach the wide receivers and assist with Special Teams. The position will include a stipend and tuition. Looking for applicants that have a passion for coaching and the energy to perform all the duties associated with a full-time coach. Candidates with Midwest ties are a plus.Successful candidate must be able to start by January 14, 2013. Cal: Cal has officially announced the additions of Tony Franklin as offensive coordinator and Rob Likens as the assistant head coach / wide receivers coach.

Wisconsin: For coaching in the Rose Bowl, the Associated Press is reporting that Barry Alvarez will make $118,500. That money will come directly out of Bret Bielema's $1 million buyout from Arkansas.

Texas Tech: Anderson Independent-Mail writer Greg Wallace reported that Kirby Hocutt is in Clemson today to interview Chad Morris. 

Hamilton Tigercats (Canada): Hamilton has announced that they have relieved head coach George Cortez of his duties.

Augustana (D-II - SD): Sources tell us that St. Olaf (D-III - MN) head coach Jerry Olszewski will be named head coach at Augustana.

Cal: Sources tell us Louisiana Tech special teams coordinator Mark Tommerdahl will join the staff at Cal in the same capacity. 

Central State (D-II - OH): We have learned that offensive coordinator Ben Coates has resigned. 

DePauw (D-III - IN): DePauw is set to interview their final four candidates Monday through Wednesday of this week. The four candidates are former Indiana head coach Bill Lynch (who is currently the associate AD at Butler), United States Military Academy running backs coach Tucker Waugh, Dartmouth special teams coordinator Christopher Wilkerson, and Monmouth College head coach Stephen Bell.

West Virginia: Keith Patterson and Joe DeForest will swap titles (Patterson becoming defenisve coordinator and DeFo becoming co-DC) according to reports from Tom Dienhart and Bruce Feldman.

Temple: Multiple sources reporting and telling us that plenty of coaches have interviewed (Todd Bowles, Cristobal, Matt Rhule, Mario Cristobal, Mark D'Onofrio, etc...). Some excellent candidates. Will update as more becomes clear. 

Northwestern State (FCS - LA): Sources tell us Steve Campbell (Mississippi Gulf Coast head coach) interviewed very well and is likely to be offered the job. 

Arkansas State: Bruce Feldman reports that Texas offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin plans to interview for the head job at Arkansas State. 

Southwest Mississippi CC: Sources tell us former Southern Miss offensive line coach Tucker Peavy will be named head coach at Southwest Mississippi tomorrow. 

Clemson: Dabo Swinney has named Wesley Goodwin the interim on-field secondary coach. Goodwin has been with the staff for three years, working as a video assistant and in "defensive research development". Graduate assistant Brian Mance will continue to work with the secondary as well.

Kentucky: Sources tell us Nebraska grad assistant Vince Marrow will join Mark Stoops staff as tight ends coach. Marrow worked with the tight ends at Nebraska as well.

Florida State: Multiple outlets in Tallahassee are reporting what we've been hearing...that Eddie Gran is not expected to return to the staff. We were told that Tubs was hoping to bring Bobby Petrino to Cincinnati if he didn't land a head coaching spot...; but now that this is done, Eddie is the likely choice, that is unless he himself gets a head coaching opportunity. Gran is reportedly interested in Arkansas State, FIU and Jacksonville State. 

Tennessee: Reports out of Tennessee state that Tee Martin will not return to the Vols. 

Georgia State: Learned late last night that Jeff Jagodzinski will join the staff as offensive coordinator. 

Olivet Nazarene (NAIA - IL): Laville HS (IN) head coach Mark Reddy has been named defensive coordinator at Olivet Nazarene.

Southern Miss: Late tonight the deal with Todd Monken has been finalized. Presser tomorrow afternoon. 

Tennessee: We saw several reports that Tee Martin has an offer from Butch Jones. He's headed back to L.A. to consider his options. This one should play out tomorrow. 

Point University (NAIA - GA): Sources tell us defensive line coach (and interim head coach) David Rocker will be named head coach soon. 

Southwest Baptist (D-II - MO): Head coach Keith Allen's contract was not renewed. Keith's one of the good guys. Everyone reading this website owes a bit of thanks to him for his vision a long, long time ago. We all hope he finds a great new home soon. 

Fairmont State (D-II - WV): Sources tell us head coach Mike Lopez will not return. 

Colorado: Sources tell us Mike MacIntyre will bring offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren. 

Limestone College (D-II - SC): Lake Forest (D-III - IL) offensive coordinator Craig Kerr has accepted a similar position at Limestone College. 

Lincoln (D-II - PA): Head coach O.J. Abanishe will not return. 

Colorado: Mike MacIntyre says he plans to bring a number of assistants from San Jose State. Jim Jeffcoat will be one of those. Will update...

Averett University (D-III - VA): Averett University is looking for an Offensive Graduate Assistant. Responsibilities include practice/game preparation, recruiting area, summer camps, strength & conditioning, video and all other aspects of the football program. Qualifications include: Experience with offensive skill positions (played or coached), acceptance into graduate school (3.0 minimum GPA), Valid Driver’s Licenses, Special consideration will be given to those that posses National Strength Certification. Compensation package includes Stipend, Housing, Meals (during the school year) & tuition waiver – this is a 12 month position. Review of candidates will begin in two weeks and some interviews may be conducted at the AFCA Convention. Expected start date is February 1st. Southern Miss: The Oklahoman is reporting that Todd Monken will be named head coach tomorrow at Southern Miss.  

Arizona Cardinals: Team president Michael Bidwell said today that Ken Whisenhunt will return next year coach the rest of the season. 

Cincinnati: Sources tell us that Tommy Tuberville would like for his entire defensive staff from Texas Tech to join him at Cincinnati. 

Georgia State: Trent Miles is adding J.D. Williams to his defensive staff. Williams served as the defensive coordinator at UNLV this past season. 

Hampton (FCS - VA): Defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Keith Goganious will not return to the staff.  

Idaho: As we told you last week, Ronnie Lee (Indiana State) has now officially been named defensive coordinator / secondary. 

Kentucky: Mark Stoops has officially announced the hiring of Texas Tech offensive coordinator Neal Brown as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks. 

Western Kentucky: Bobby Petrino's agreement is four years at $850,000 per. More details to come later today...

         Randy Hart (Stanford) - 2012 FootballScoop Defensive Line Coach of the Year

West Hills Community College (CA): West Hills, located in the Central Valley (Coalinga, CA) region of Calif., has an opening for a defensive coach/assistant resident hall advisor. The job pays $1,000 a month (10 months) with housing and meals. The defensive assistant will help with game planning, recruiting, and coordinate video needs for the staff. West Virginia State (D-II): Isaiah Jackson has been hired as the defensive line coach and special teams coordinator. He previously served as the defensive line coach at Sioux Falls (D-II, SD)

Texas Tech: Offensive line coach Chris Thomsen will serve as interim head coach at Texas Tech. Thomsen is the former highly successful head coach at Abilene Christian. 

Millsaps (D-III - MS): Sources tell us offensive coordinator Andy Follett is leaving to pursue other opportunities closer to his family. 

Western Kentucky: Bobby Petrino will be the new head coach per Chad Bishop (Bowling Green Daily News). Announcement today at 4pm. We have confirmed the hire. 

Kentucky: Sources tell us Eric Korem (Florida State) has joined the staff in a sports performance role at this time. 

Grambling: Sources tell us that Grambling has contacted former TCU linebackers coach Tony Tademy regarding their defensive coordinator job. Other interviews are planned as well. 

Temple: Mario Cristobal, Bob Diaco, Mark D'Onofrio, Stan Drayton, Chuck Heater and Matt Rhule are all in play for the Temple job per Bruce Feldman. 

Western Kentucky: Bobby Petrino is on campus today meeting with the administration. Sources tell us that San Diego Chargers tight ends coach Jason Michael is very interested in the job as well...and they have a great coach on campus as well

Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens have fired offensive coordinator Cam Cameron and have promoted Jim Caldwell per multiple reports. 

Colorado: Multiple reports (Thamel of SI and Kyle Ringo) that San Jose State head coach Mike MacIntyre will be the next head coach at Colorado. According to USA Today's database, MacIntyre made just over $400,000 last year at San Jose State. 

Norfolk State University (FCS - VA): Norfolk State is looking an opponent for a home and home series for Labor Day weekend (8/31/13) and (8/30/14). Please contact Head Coach Pete Adrian directly at 757-823-8797 or at padrian@nsu.edu.

Limestone College (D-II - SC): Sources tell us that Wingate defensive coordinator Bobby James will be named the first head coach at Limestone. 

Wingate (D-II - NC): Sources tell us that SUNY Brockport defensive coordinator Rashaan Jordan is expected to be hired as defensive coordinator. 

Tennessee: Butch has his full staff with the exception of one offensive slot nailed down (potentially Tee Martin). On the offensive side of the ball you have Bajakian, Elder, Mahoney and Jay Graham. On the defensive side you have Jancek, Stripling, Thigpen and Martinez. Dave Lawson is also coming from Cincinnati to serve as head strength coach. 

Kentucky: Texas Tech running backs coach Chad Scott is expected to be named to the same role at Kentucky and look for Troy offensive line coach John Schlarman to join as well. 

Tennessee: Mark Elder has joined the staff and will coach the tight ends. Elder previously served as the special teams coordinator / safeties coach at Cincinnati.

Temple: SI's Pete Thamel reported that Ohio State running backs coach Stan Drayton interviewed for the head job at Temple today.

Tennessee: Sources close to the situation tell us that Willie Martinez and Tommy Thigpen will be joining the staff. 

Idaho: Jason Shumaker has joined the staff as running backs coach. Shumaker was director of high school relations at Arkansas. 

Alabama State: Head coach Reggie Barlow is making some major changes. Defensive coordinator Cedric Thornton, offensive line coach Willard Scissum, quarterbacks coach RIchard Moncrief and defensive backs coach Roy Dawkins will not return. 

           Ed Warinner (Ohio State) has been named 2012 Offensive Line Coach of the Year 

Hawaii: Ohio State senior associate athletic director Ben Jay has been named athletic director at Hawaii.

Southwest Minnesota State University (D-II): Southwest Minnesota State is looking for an Offensive Graduate Assistant. UNLV: Bobby Hauck has released both offensive coordinator Brent Myers and defensive coordinator J.D. Williams according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

South Florida: Willie Taggart's agreement is 5 years / $5.75 million ($1.15M / year). The pool for his assistants is $1.9 million. 

West Virginia: Cornerbacks coach Daron Roberts will not return to the staff. 

Tennessee: Cincinnati offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian and defensive coordinator John Jancek will join Butch Jones at Tennessee. Bajakian will serve as OC. Jancek might be DC; but is humble enough to not need the title and is willing to work as linebackers should Butch decide to bring another defensive coordinator in. We have also learned that Tennessee running backs coach Jay Graham will be retained. More to come...

Seton Hill (D-II - PA): Sources tell us Seton Hill will hold on-campus interviews with a small group of finalists this week. 

Cincinnati: We have learned that Tommy Tuberville will be the next head coach at Cinicnnati. Tuberville resigned from Texas Tech minutes ago. Texas Tech has now confirmed. Cincinnati will hold a presser tonight. Here's the story

Arkansas: Bret Bielema has retained Tim Horton. Sources also tell us defensive backs coach Bobby Allen expected to remain on staff in an off the field capacity (likely HS relations). More to come .... 

Idaho: Sources tell us that Illinois offensive grad assistant Jon Carvin will be the new offensive line coach at Idaho. 

        Matt Lubick (Duke) - 2012 FootballScoop Wide Receivers Coach of the Year

Montana: Head coach Mick Delaney plans to use co-offensive coordinators for the 2013 season. Offensive line coach Scott Gragg and current special teams coordinator / tight ends coach Kefense Hynson will serve as co-offensive coordinators. Montana has one full-time position to fill.

UTEP: We have learned that Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Sean Kugler will be named the next head coach at UTEP. Here's a quick writeup on Kugler

South Florida: ESPN is confirming WDAE's report that Western Kentucky head coach Willie Taggart will be the new head coach at South Florida. Update> We have confirmed. Further, sources tell us that defensive coordinator Lance Guidry will serve as interim head coach. Here's what you need to know.

Auburn: Ellis Johnson will make $800,000 per year as defensive coordinator and offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee will earn $350,000. 

Notre Dame College (D-II - OH): Notre Dame College is seeking applications for the position of Defensive Coordinator. This is a full time 35K-40K benefited position.  We require the candidate to have prior defensive coordinator experience. Responsible for the overall defense scheme/game plan, recruiting and assisting in all aspects of a competitive DII program. FIU: Bruce Feldman reported earlier today that James Coley and Dan Quinn are candidates at FIU. 

Tennessee: Here is a link to Butch Jones' MOU. $2.9 million / year plus incentives. The pool for assistants is stated as "minimum of $3 million". 

James Madison (FCS): Offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Jeff Durden and offensive line coach Chris Malone have been released from the staff. 

NC State: Northern Illinois defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen will join Dave Doeren in same capacity (DL / recruiting coordinator). 

West Virginia Wesleyan (D-II): Sources tell us University of Charleston defensive coordinator George Shehl will be the new head coach at West Virginia Wesleyan. In 2010 Shehl was the defensive grad assistant at Marshall. 

     Oregon's Mark Helfrich has been named 2012 Quarterbacks Coach of the Year 

App State (FCS - NC): Sources tell us offensive coordinator Scott Satterfield will "interview" this weekend for the head job...is considered the leader for the job by the coaches we hear from. 

Auburn: Rhett Lashlee has now been announced as offensive coordinator. Lashlee served on Gus Malzahn's staff at Arkansas State last season in the same capacity.

Arkansas State: Sources tell us Gus Malzahn recommended to Chad Morris that he consider the job. Separate sources tell us it is unlikely Morris will seek the position. 

Colorado: Sources tell us former NFL Coach of the Year with the New York Giants head coach Jim Fassel is interested in the job. If he's interested, Colorado should take a long look. 

Tennessee: Butch Jones' agreement is reportedly 6 years / $18 million (CBS Sports). 

Auburn: AuburnSports is reporting that Trooper Taylor will not be part of Gus Malzahn's staff.

Jacksonville State (FCS): Running backs coach Jimmy Ogle has been named interim head coach during the search. A large number of coaches have registered their interest in this opening.
