ULM: Cal Poly defensive backs coach Adam Waugh has just been hired at ULM.  He will coach the safeties.

Buffalo: Buffalo has hired former Cincinnati offensive coordinator Jeff Quinn as head coach.

East Carolina: DC Greg Hudson has stated that he has some options on the table, but will not make any decision until after the bowl game.  There is a report in Tallahassee that Hudson has an offer to join the FSU staff, perhaps as linebackers coach.  Hudson stated that he will accept a job without visiting a school first.

East Carolina: Former Marshall head coach Mark Snyder attending the East Carolina practice yesterday.  TV cameras taped Snyder, who was wearing an ECU jacket, as he observed practice.  Sort of interesting to us.

Marshall: West Virginia offensive GA, JuJuan Seider, has joined the staff at Marshall.

Alabama State: FootballScoop has learned that offensive line coach Kenny Ray will not return.

Buffalo: Corwin Brown is no longer a candidate.

LA Tech: Our sources tell us the wide receivers position is open.

ULM: Montana State assistant Bryan Applewhite has been hired as running backs coach. Toledo outside receivers coach Jason Nichols has been hired as wide receivers coach. #78 Leon Lett has been hired as defensive tackles coach.  Everett Todd will just coach the defensive ends.

Richmond: We hear former UVA linebackers coach Bob Trott has talked to Latrell Scott about the defensive coordinator position.

Notre Dame: Director of football personell Tim McDonnell and director of football development Dave Peloquin will be retained.  We reported earlier in the week that DFO Chad Klunder would also remain with the Irish as DFO. Bryant Young will also remain with the Irish.

Arizona State: We haven't heard Tim Lappano's name for the OC position, but Erickson has hired Lappano several times.  Our sources tell us former Akron head coach J.D. Brookhart is interested in the position.

UNLV: Montana head coach Bobby Hauck will interview on Sunday.  Dennis Franchione will interview on Monday.  AD Jim Livengood should make a decision by the middle of the week.

Florida State: We hear Dameyune Craig will coach the FSU quarterbacks.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff: Former Arkansas-Monticell OC Matt Middleton has interviewed for the offensive coordinator position. Head coach Monte Coleman is expected to soon fill the OC, OL, DL, and LB positions.

Arizona State:  We hear Dennis Erickson has spoken with former Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers coach Eric Price.  Price previously spent four seasons at UTEP and once served as a graduate assistant under Erickson at Miami.

Bethel College (KS): We hear Travis Graber is the new head coach.

Bethune Cookman:  We hear that Rutgers wide receivers coach Brian Jenkins will soon be named the head coach at Bethune Cookman.

Tennessee State:  Rod Reed has been promoted from defensive coordinator to head coach.

Murray State:  FootballScoop has learned that Chris Hatcher has just accepted the head coaching job at Murray State.

Akron:  We hear that Rob Ianello has spoken with Tennessee graduate assistant Mitch Brownin.

Illinois:  We hear Vic Koenning's deal is 2 years at $325,000 per.

Sam Houston State: FootballScoop has learned the Sam Houston State has hired Central Missouri head coach Willie Fritz as head coach.

Kansas: Western Carolina head coach Dennis Wagner, who coached with Turner Gill at Nebraska, has turned down an offer to coach the offensive line.

Marshall: Doc Holliday says, "I've got some guys in mind. I've got one chance to get this right, so I'm going to take my time. You're only as good as the people you've got around you. I've got to hire 9 quality guys who are great people, great husbands, (guys) who will do a great job on the recruiting trail and who are also super coaches. It's amazing when you're a head football coach and you've got a job open how many calls you get. There are a lot of quality coaches out there and I'm sure excited and looking forward to putting a staff together."

ULM: We are hearing ULM will only hire 8 full-time assistants under head coach Todd Berry.  Our sources tell us corners coach Darrell Perkins, safeties coach Mark Collins, wide receivers coach Marty Humphrey, running backs coach Bob Leahy, and tight ends / special teams coordinator Chris Vaszily will not remain on the staff.  According to our source, offensive line coach Vance Vice, defensive line coach Everett Todd, and DC Troy Reffett will work for head coach Todd Berry. Illinois State OC Steve Farmer is on his way to Monroe.  He will serve as the OC.

Illinois: Vic Koenning has accepted the DC position.

Arizona: OC Sonny Dykes just stated that he is staying at Arizona despite a rumor that he would follow AD Jim Livengood to UNLV.

Illinois: We hear Greg Nord gets 2-year deal at $175,000 per year and Jeff Brohm gets 2-years at $172,000 per year.

ULL: Head coach Rickey Bustle has agreed to a 1-year contract extension through 2011.

Hiram College: Otterbein College defensive coordinator Randy Moore just accepted the head coaching job.

Furman: Our sources tell us the linebackers job is open at Furman.

Tennessee State: We hear TSU will name a new head coach today. We wonder if Prairie View coach Henry Frazier is the man.

Tennessee: It's official.  Kippy Brown has been hired as wide receivers / passing game coordinator.

Youngstown State: We hear Eric Wolford talked with former Illinois assistant Kurt Beathard about joining the staff at YSU.

Florida: We hear former Notre Dame assistant Corwin Brown is interested in joining Urban Meyer's staff on the defensive side.  The Gators' defensive coordinator job is open.  Some people believe Meyer may promote from within.

Illinois: Joe Schad reports "Espn.com reports Vic Koenning to Illinois after changing mind twice."

Murray State: We hear it's going down tonight.  Our source tells us the AD is calling the final 3 candidates tonight to inform them of their decision.

Georgia: ESPN's Joe Schad just brought up that Georgia would be closer to home for Koenning.  One of our sources tells us Koenning may still have a home in Orange Beach, AL.

Georgia: Our sources tell us Georgia is very much in play for Vic Koenning.  We heard Koenning may want to bring Tulsa co-defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Ron West with him to help put in his system. A decision could be made later tonight or tomorrow.  Illinois vs. UGA.  West coached with Koenning at Clemson.

Furman: Our sources have just told us that Furman co-defensive coordinator Steve Wilson will not return.  According to our source, safeties coach Jeff Farrington will become the new defensive coordinator.

Akron: A report in Akron says former Notre Dame quarterbacks coach Ron Powlus and former Notre Dame wide receiver David Grimes have joined the Akron staff.  It appears Grimes will serve as a grad assistant.

Tennessee: We hear Kippy Brown will be the wide receivers / passing game coordinator at Tennessee.

Notre Dame: Our sources tell us running backs coach Tony Alford and DFO Chad Klunder will be retained.

Dana College: University of St. Mary offensive coordinator Jason Shumaker has accepted the head coaching job at Dana College.

Tennessee: It appears Tennessee is really close to hiring Kippy Brown as wide receivers coach.

UNLV: Arizona AD Jim Livengood will be introduced today as the new AD.  It shouldn't take much longer for UNLV to hire a coach.

Winona State University: (NCAA Division II, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) located in Winona, MN has an immediate opening for a Defensive Graduate Assistant position.  The Defensive Graduate Assistant will primarily work with the front seven.  The position requires a highly motivated individual to assist with the implementation of practices, evaluation of prospective student athletes, off campus recruiting, film breakdown, scouting opponents, event management, fund raising, film editing and other duties assigned by the Head Coach.  This individual needs to be have experience playing and/or coaching the defensive line or linebacker segments.  Graduate Assistantships are awarded based on acceptance into Graduate School at Winona State University.  This is a 10 month position with a $10,000 stipend and full tuition waiver.  Minimum Requirements:  1). Richmond: We hear Latrell Scott is interested in hiring UVA running backs coach Wayne Lineburg as OC.   Lineburg was the OC at Richmond from 2004-2006.

Buffalo: We hear Buffalo will interview former Notre Dame assistant Corwin Brown.

Portland State: Weber State defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield has joined the staff as defensive line coach.

University of Redlands: Jeff Thomas is moving from offensive coordinator to defensive coordinator.  Redlands HS assistant coach Bob Stangel has been hired as offensive coordinator.

Georgia: Mark Richt talked about the search for a new defensive coordinator yesterday.  We thought it was interesting that he did not mention anything about bringing in or talking to a couple of guys to interview.  He did say, "I'm open to championship-level defense, really. I'm not going to say I will not consider this scheme or that scheme or I have to have this scheme or that scheme. I won't do that, because there are different ways to skin it. And if you are really good at skinning it the way you do it, that's OK with me."

Montreal Alouettes: We hear Montreal has agreed to a new contract extension with head coach Marc Trestman.

Florida Atlantic: Kirk Hoza will not return as defensive coordinator.  We hear Kurt Van Valkenburgh has been promoted to defensive coordinator.  Valkenburgh will continue to coach the linebackers and FAU will look to hire a secondary coach.  GA Jared Allen has been promoted to wide receivers coach.  OC Darryl Jackson will move from wide receivers to quarterbacks.

Tusculum College: no jobs are open at Tusculum College.

San Jose State: We hear Mike MacIntyre will get a 5-year contract.

Kansas: Former head coach Mark Mangino will get $3 million in a settlement with the university.

Duke: With co-defensive coordinator Mike MacIntyre taking the San Jose State head coaching job, we hear David Cutcliffe could name co-defensive coordinator / defensive line coach Marion Hobby as the new DC.  Our sources tell us Cutcliffe may bring in former Tennessee defensive ends coach Steve Caldwell and let Derek Jones take over the entire secondary. 

Emporia State: We hear Coffeyville CC defensive assistant Steve Vincent will be joining the staff at Emporia State.

Nicholls State: Our sources now tell us to look for Nicholls State to hire either Tim Rebowe (ULL assistant) or St. Charles Catholic HS head coach Frank Monica.  Monica was a long time college OC, who for years owned the River Parish recruiting area.  He is extremely well liked in the Thibodaux and New Orleans areas.

East Central CC (MS): We hear interim head coach Brian Anderson has been hired as the new head coach.

Kansas: None of the assistant will be retained including David Beatty, who many thought would be a part of Gill's staff.  Gill said the decision not retain Beatty was very difficult. 

Cincinnati: Butch Jones will retain Kerry Coombs, who served as the defensive backs coach this year at Cincinnati.  Jones will not coach in the Sugar Bowl.

Central Michigan: Associate head coach Steve Stripling has been named interim head coach.

ULM: Todd Berry has hired Illinois State OC Steve Farmer and retained Troy Reffett as DC.

Albright College: An NCAA Division III institution and a member of the highly competitive Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Intern Assistant Football Coach (Defense: DL or LB's). Qualifications: Bachelors degree required with successful football playing and/or coaching experience, strong professional/interpersonal communication skills and organizational efficiency, outstanding character and leadership qualities a must.  The successful applicant should also possess strong computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-point, and Access software. Some experience with DV-Sport digital editing system is a plus. Follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA Division III, the Middle Atlantic Conference, and Albright College. Duties include coaching your own position and; plan, organize, and instruct positional meetings and drills; contribute to defensive game plan; recruit your own territory and attract top quality student-athletes to attend Albright College. San Jose State: Duke DC Mike MacIntyre will be named head coach.

Denison University: Our sources tell us the head coaching job will open with the resignation of Nick Fletcher. 

Murray State: We hear the interviews are over and Murray State will make a decision tonight or tomorrow morning.  Our source tells us Hatcher, McCray, and Shankweiler all had very good interviews.

Tennessee: Lane Kiffin met with Kippy Brown on Tuesday according to ESPN's Chris Low.

Marshall: HerdNation is reporting that Marshall is planning to offer Doc Holliday 5 years at $650,000 per year.

Marshall: Just moments ago Mitch Vingle of the West Virginia Gazette, "West Virginia associate head coach Doc Holliday has left Florida, where he was on the road recruiting for the Mountaineers, and is en route to Huntington. It also looks like he's en route to the head coaching football job at Marshall. Sources, who asked to remain anonymous, told the Gazette that no deal has been finalized, but that Holliday is the apparent choice to succeed Mark Snyder, who recently chose to resign rather than be fired as the MU coach."

Kansas: We hear the only assistant who may get to stay is wide receivers coach Dave Beatty.  All other assistants appear on the way out.
