South Dakota State (FCS): Luke Schleusner has been named tight ends coach.
Why Gus Malzahn may have hired Auburn's next offensive coordinator today.
Auburn: Per sources, Byrnes HS (SC) head coach Bobby Bentley has been offered a position on staff at Auburn and is expected to accept it today. Will update... Update> Sources confirm to us that Bentley has accepted an off the field role (we hear offensive analyst...focusing on quarterback play). Expect an announcement from Auburn later today or tomorrow confirming.
Montreal Alouettes (CFL): Former Calgary Stampeders head coach Tom Higgins will be the new head coach in Montreal, according to Herb Zurkowsky. Higgins has most recently served as the director of officiating for the CFL. Update> We have confirmed the hire.
Texas A&M: Per source, New Mexico defensive grad assistant TJ Poe has accepted the defensive grad assistant job at Texas A&M and will work with the defensive line.
East LA (JC - CA): Quarterbacks coach Narciso Diaz has been named head coach at Franklin HS (Los Angeles, CA).
Toledo: Max Smith, who spent last season as an offensive grad assistant working with the receivers, has accepted the head coaching job at Boca Ciega HS (FL). Prior to joining the Toledo staff, Smith was the head coach at Dunedin HS (FL).
Winnipeg Blue Bombers (CFL): Gene Dahlquist has been announced as quarterbacks coach. Dahlquist has previously served as the offensive coordinator at Oregon, Boise State, Illinois and Texas during his 30 year coaching career.
Kansas: Charlie Weis has announced the hiring of Bernie Parmalee as special teams quality control. Parmalee is the father of current Jayhawks wide receiver Tre' Parmalee and worked previously under Weis at Notre Dame and with the Kansas City Chiefs.
New Mexico: Sources tell us that former New Mexico defensive lineman Jacori Greer has joined the staff as a defensive grad assistant.
Florida State: Per source, Minnesota linebackers coach Bill Miller has accepted the final coaching position on Florida State's staff. 247 is reporting the same. Jerry Kill has now announced the move.
Rutgers: As we previously noted, Mike Teel has joined the staff as a graduate assistant. Rutgers has also now announced that Michael Zuckerman is joining the staff as a grad assistant.
Arkansas Baptist (JC): Arkansas Baptist is looking for a home game October 25, 2014. Looking for a D-II, D-III or NAIA opponent. Please contact director of football operations Lance Flint at 870.820.5558
Nevada: Following up on last night's report, per sources, Scott Boone will be named defensive coordinator at Nevada later today.
Susquehanna (D-III - PA): Susquehanna University is seeking applicants for a full time assistant football (defensive coordinator)/asst. strength coach position. Minimum of 3 to 5 years defensive football coaching experience on the college level is required. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. NSCA or equivalent certification desired. Recruiting experience at the NCAA Division III level and familiarity with Hudl software is desired. Nevada: Per sources, William & Mary defensive coordinator Scott Boone is a strong candidate to be the new defensive coordinator at Nevada. Have heard it might be a done deal already. Will update in the morning.
Colorado State-Pueblo (D-II): Per source, Highland Ranch High School head coach Darrel Gorham is the lead candidate for the tight ends job at CSU-Pueblo. We hear this could be official this week.

Minnesota: The Gophers have extended Jerry Kill's contract through the 2018-19 season and bumped his salary to $2.1 million. Kill made a reported $1.2 million in 2013.
Jacksonville State (FCS - AL): Here's a run down of the current staff at Jax State. John Grass (head coach), David Blackwell (DC / ILB), Brandon Hall (co-DC / safeties), Todd Bates (DL), Nick Gentry (Jacks & Ends), Aashon Larkins (special teams / corners), Jimmy Ogle (asst head coach / running backs), J.R. Sandlin (recruiting coordinator / tight ends), Trey Clark (OL), Larry Smith (QBs), Nick Williams (WRs).
Vanderbilt: Derek Mason told a Nashville radio station Friday that suspended defensive line coach Vavae Tata will not coach this season but then added Friday night, "I went beyond what I was supposed to say. I'll just stick by my statement that he's suspended right now."

San Jose State: Offensive coordinator Jimmie Dougherty has added the title assistant head coach.
Youngstown State (FCS): Per source, defensive coordinator Joe Tresey will not return to the staff.
Boise State: Former Texas offensive grad assistant (and Boise State quarterback) Taylor Tharp has been hired as director of player personnel at Boise State.
Penn State: Mississippi State defensive graduate assistant Will Windham is going to Penn State in a similar capacity per source.
UNC Pembroke (D-II): Interim head coach (defensive coordinator) Shane Richardson has been named head coach.
Cleveland Browns: Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk says the Browns and the 49ers had a deal in place in which the Browns would have given the 49ers multiple draft picks in exchange for Jim Harbaugh becoming head coach of the Browns...but that Harbaugh ultimately killed the deal. The CEO of the 49ers came out with a very public denial directly to Florio "the report isn't true".
Northern Illinois: Head coach Rod Carey has inked a contract extension through the 2018 season, and will also receive a bump in pay that will net him at least $400,000 in 2014. Carey made $376,000 in 2013 according to USA Today.
West Virginia: Per Allan Taylor of WV Metro News, West Virginia plans to hire former Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley. Update> West Virginia has now announced the hire stating that Bradley will be "senior associate head coach" and that Holgorsen will designate his position later..
Itasca CC (MN): Itasca Community College has promoted running backs coach Weldon Braxton to offensive coordinator, per sources.
New York Giants: Tom Coughlin stated today that he has agreed to a one year extension through the 2015 season.
Eastern Illinois: Mike Markuson has now been formally introduced as offensive line / assistant head coach.
West Virginia: Dana Holgorsen confirmed today that Tony Gibson will be the Mountaineers' defensive coordinator.
Kentucky Wesleyan (D-II): Per source, former Western Kentucky receivers coach Donte Pimpleton will be the new offensive coordinator at Kentucky Wesleyan.
Northwestern State (FCS - LA): Per source, LSU offensive grad assistant / special teams assistant August Mangin will be the new special teams coordinator at Northwestern State.
Sam Houston State (FCS): Kentucky defensive / special teams grad assistant Matt Powledge is joining the Sam Houston State staff as special teams coordinator / running backs. We also see that Rodrique Wright is joining the staff (assistant defensive line).
Rhode Island (FCS): Per source, Rochester defensive backs / special teams coordinator Diamond Weaver is joining the Rhode Island staff coaching the running backs.
Arkansas: New defensive backs coach Clay Jennings will make $320,000 annually in a contract that runs through June 2015. He has a $100,000 buyout if he leaves within the next 365 days which then drops to $50,000 through June 2015. Taver Johnson made $250,000 in that role last season.
Notre Dame: Per source, Notre Dame has hired Megan Whitt (Ohio State) as coordinator of recruiting operations. Whitt previously held a similar position at Ohio State.
Wisconsin: Marshall running backs coach Thomas Brown will be the new running backs coach at Wisconsin, sources confirm to FootballScoop. Brown coached at Marshall for one season and served in the same capacity at Chattanooga prior to that. Brown worked for (strength staff) and played at Georgia (four year starter) previously.
Bridgewater College (D-III - VA): Kyle Gillenwater has been hired as defensive line coach.
Murray State: LSU defensive grad assistant Gordon Steele will join the Murray State staff as tackles/tight ends coach per source.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers (CFL): The club has announced Gary Etcheverry as defensive coordinator, Nelson Martin as defensive backs coach and Portland State defensive line coach Mike Scheper as defensive line coach.
Syracuse: Bobby Acosta has now officially been announced as tight ends coach, and offensive coordinator George McDonald will work with the wide receivers.
Michigan: The Wolverines have shuffled some staff responsibilities. Defensive coordinator Greg Mattison will work with the linebackers this season, defensive backs coach Curt Mallory will focus on the safeties while outside linebackers coach Roy Manning will shift to cornerbacks and inside linebackers coach Mark Smith will work with the defensive line.

Michigan: The J. Ira and Nicki Harris Foundation has endowed the Michigan head coaching position to the tune of $10 million. Brady Hoke's official title is now the J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach.
Kansas: Former Washington offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau has been named receivers coach.
Arkansas: TCU cornerbacks coach Clay Jennings has been hired as the defensive backs coach at Arkansas.
Eastern Michigan: Mike Gravier, who served as the assistant head coach at Valparaiso (FCS - IN) last year, has been hired to coordinate the special teams and coach the tight ends.
New England Patriots: Former Browns GM Mike Lombardi has been added to the staff as an assistant to the coaching staff.
Saskatchewan Roughridgers (CFL): Brad Miller has been announced as linebackers coach.
Air Force: Troy Calhoun has shuffled a bit of his staff. Mike Thiessen will take over as the sole offensive coordinator, Steve Russ will be the defensive coordinator and coach the defensive backs, Matt Weikert will move from defensive line to outside linebackers, John Rudzinski will move from outside linebackers to secondary. New hires Tim Cross (defensive line) and Ron Vanderlinden (inside linebackers) have also been assigned their roles. Also, Drew Fowler, a former player, has joined the staff as an assistant linebackers coach.
BC Lions (CFL): Johnny Holland, who coached the linebackers for the Oakland Raiders back in 2012, has been added to the staff and will coach the linebackers.
Butler (FCS - IN): Ball State graduate assistant Gerald Chatman has been hired as defensive line coach.
San Francisco 49ers: Senior offensive consultant Eric Mangini will transition to tight ends coach, while current tight ends coach Reggie Davis will move to assistant offensive line coach.
Tennessee-Chattanooga: The university has announced that head coach Russ Huesman has agreed to a three-year contract extension taking him through the 2018 season. The new contract includes a raise in his annual pay to $205,738.
Indiana: Kevin Wilson has finalized his full time staff with the hire of North Texas safeties coach Noah Joseph, who will coach the same position with the Hoosiers. We hear that there is still a defensive grad assistant position available.
Colorado: The Board of Regents has voted to extend the contract of Mike MacIntyre one year, through December 31, 2018.
Bentley (D-II - MA): Sources tell us that Assumption College (D-II - MA) offensive line coach / strength coach Matt Sidebottom has accepted the same job at Bentley University
LA Tech: Former Texas defensive ends coach Oscar Giles is joining the LA Tech staff as defensive line coach. BleedTechBlue broke the news and we have confirmed.
Cleveland Browns: Per source, Toledo linebackers / special teams coordinator Stan Watson has accepted a position on the Browns' staff. We hear Watson's role will be assistant special teams coordinator with the Browns.

Florida International: FIU has announced the hiring of Randy Melvin as defensive line coach. Melvin coached the same position for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012-13.

LaGrange (D-III - GA): Sources tell us that Earl Chambers, who spent last season at James Madison coaching the tight ends and spent eight years coaching the defensive line at Valdosta State prior to that, will be the new defensive coordinator at LaGrange. Also, we hear that Kendall Todd will join the defensive side of the ball, and Brandon Crosby (who coached last year at Saddleback College) will coach the running backs.
