San Jose State: We have learned the Washington receivers coach Jimmie Dougherty has accepted the offensive coordinator position at San Jose State. We also hear that Jon Sumrall (Tulane) declined the opportunity to become defensive coordinator.

Southern Miss: Marcus Arroyo has joined the staff as offensive coordinator. Arroyo previously served as the quarterbacks coach at Cal.

Louisiana Tech: Jabbar Juluke has joined Skip Holtz's staff. Juluke led Edna Karr HS (LA) to a state title this past season.

FIU: Multiple outlets are reporting that Butch Davis will become the next head coach at FIU. Sources tell us this is not a done deal at this time.

Randolph-Macon College (D-III - VA): Randolph-Macon College seeks applicants for a full time, twelve month assistant football position to work with the secondary. Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with collegiate playing experience preferred. Interested applicants should forward a cover letter, resume and the names, addresses and phone numbers of three professional references all in one attachment to Sharon Jackson, Director of Human Resources, at jobs@rmc.edu with “Assistant Football Coach” in the subject line. Western Michigan: Sources tell us that Elon defensive coordinator Ed Pinkham will be joining the Western Michigan staff in the same capacity.

Arkansas: Bruce Feldman is reporting that Washington running backs coach Joel Thomas is taking the same position at Arkansas.

Wingate (D-II - NC): Widener offensive line coach Greg Keziah will join the staff as offensive line / run game coordinator. Current offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Mike Long will move to offensive coordinator / quarterbacks. 

Florida Tech (D-II): Florida Tech, in the Gulf South Conference, has a full time position open coaching offensive line (OT/TE). College coaching experience is a must, the pay range is between $30K-$35k depending on experience. Only contact Offensive Coordinator Jayson Martin at jmartin@fit.edu. Texas Tech: The New York Daily News is reporting that New York Jets outside linebackers coach Mike Smith will be named the co-defensive coordinator at Texas Tech. 

Limestone College: Wingate running backs / special teams coordinator Drew Anthony has been named defensive coordinator at Limestone. 

Utah State: Matt Wells has retained defensive line coach Frank Maile. 

Birmingham Southern (D-III - AL): Sewanee (D-III - TN) defensive line coach Joshua Taylor has accepted the same position at Birmingham Southern we have learned.

Bridgewater College (D-III - VA): Roberto Pinilla has been hired as full-time defensive line coach.

San Jose State: Sources tell us Ron Caragher has offered the defensive coordinator position to Tulane co-defensive coordinator Jon Sumrall. Prior to this past season, Sumrall was coaching with Caragher at USD. For offensive coordinator, sources tell us Caragher would like to have University of Washington receivers coach Jimmie Dougherty take the job. We'll keep you posted. 

Tennessee: Alabama recruiting assistant JR Sandlin has accepted the director of recruiting position with Tennessee. 

West Virginia State (D-II): Sources tell us Mike Krysl (offensive coordinator at Lexington High School - MO) has accepted the offensive line job at at West Virginia State. 

Seton Hill (D-II - PA): Sources tell us Widener (D-III - PA) offensive coordinator Charles Eger will join the staff at Seton Hill in the same capacity. 

Taylor University (NAIA – IN): Taylor, a private, interdenominational Christian university invites applications for the position of Defensive Coordinator and for the position of Defensive Assistant/Recruiting Coordinator. Boston College: Steve Addazio has announced that Temple tight ends coach Frank Leonard will move over to BC with him in the same capacity. 

Florida A&M: We have learned that the four finalists for the head coaching position at Florida A&M are John Eason, Earl Holmes, Melvin Spears and John Hendrick. 

Boston College associate athletic director for football operations Barry Gallup's daughter Lisa passed away this week after a battle with cancer. Please keep the Gallup's in your prayers.

Minnesota Duluth (D-II): Offensive coordinator Curt Wiese has been named head coach. 

Texas Tech: Sources tell us it isn't official at this time; but to look for Houston offensive line coach Lee Hayes to become the new offensive line coach at Tech. 

Davidson (FCS - NC): Sources tell us that the prior staff has all been released with the exception of Brett Hayford. 

Western Kentucky: Sources tell us Hampton (FCS - VA) receivers coach Lamar Thomas has accepted the same position at Western Kentucky. 

Wisconsin: Running backs coach Thomas Hammock will stay on at Wisconsin according to Adam Mertz

LA Tech: We have learned that Skip Holtz has hired Tim Rattay. Position to be determined. Rattay, who set multiple records as a quarterback at Tech, went on to spend a number of years with the 49ers and other NFL teams. Fans in Ruston will love this hire! Update> Skip Holtz has now confirmed the hire via Twitter. 

Georgetown College (NAIA - KY): Eddie Eviston, head coach at Newport Central Catholic High (KY), will become offensive coordinator at Georgetown according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. 

Kentucky: Chad Scott will earn $200,000 / year (contract through June 2015). Jimmy Brumbaugh will make $175,000 / year (June 2014). 

         A number of football operations updates on DFO Scoop

Marian (NAIA - IN): Quarterbacks coach Bryan Hamrock has been named interim head coach. 

Santa Rosa (JC - CA): Head coach Keith Simons has stepped down. Former defensive coordinator Lenny Wagner will take over as head coach. 

Grossmont College (JC - CA): Sources tell us defensive coordinator Garrett Robinson will not return. 

Wisconsin: Gary Andersen confirmed this morning that Dave Aranda will serve as defensive coordinator at Wisconsin. Mike Lucas reports that Andersen said current defensive backs coach Ben Strickland will be retained in a capacity to be determined. 

BYU: Assistant head coach / tight ends coach Lance Reynolds is retiring after 31 seasons with the program.

Minnesota State-Mankato: Local TV stations are reporting that former head coach Todd Hoffner will be reassigned at the university and will no longer coach.

Missouri: Josh Henson will make $500,000 with his promotion to offensive coordinator (up from $221k he made this season). Henson's is a two year agreement. Dave Matter reports that defensive coordinator Dave Steckel's compensation will rise from about $350,000 to approximately $550,000. Andy Hill, who recently was promoted to associate head coach / quarterbacks will now earn just over $300,000. 

Davidson: Paul Nichols was officially introduced to the team as the program's new head coach during a meeting this morning. Although we're told nothing is final, sources tell us that former Denver Broncos asssistant Phil Armatas could wind up with a prominent role on the offensive staff.

Illinois: Sources tell us that St. Joseph's College running backs coach Nubis Padhye has accepted a recruiting position at Illinois. 

NC State: Northern Illinois running backs / special teams coordinator Mike Uremovich has been named offensive line coach at NC State. 

Campbell (FCS - NC): Head coach Mike Minter has announced his coaching staff. His staff will be composed of; Landon Mariani (offensive coordinator / quarterbacks), Craig Cox (defensive coordinator), Kevin Thompson (offensive line), Adam Morris (WR's), D.J. Summers (RB's), Damien Adams (DL), Bryant Foster (DB's), Jonathan Hodges (LB's).

          A quick look at some un/underemployed coaches recommended by their peers

Clemson: We have learned that NC State defensive backs coach Mike Reed will join Clemson's staff as defensive backs coach. 

Arizona: In connection with Charlie Ragle's promotion to tight ends coach, Billy Kirelawich (son of defensive line coach Bill Kirelawich) has been promoted to assistant director of operations.

Point University (NAIA - GA): Point University in West Point, GA is seeking applicants for assistant football coaches. These are stipend positions and include shared housing, in college owned apartments, with other stipend coaches. No graduate school or fringe benefits are offered. Each coach will be responsible for coaching his own position and recruiting area in addition to assisting in other areas of the program such as equipment, video breakdown (Hudl), academic monitoring, strength and conditioning, etc. Visit Point.edu to learn more about the university and send resumes to Pointfootballjobs@gmail.com.
