Weber State (FCS): Utah tight ends / special teams coordinator Jay Hill will be the new head coach at Weber State. Salt Lake Tribune broke the news. Hill had been on staff at Utah in various capacities since 2001. 

Wofford (FCS - SC): Defensive coordinator / defensive line coach Jack Teachey has resigned and accepted a position with a local church. This was Coach Teachey's 20th season on staff at Wofford. 

Minnesota - Crookston (D-II): Mike Fritze had the "interim" tag removed today and is now head coach at Crookston. 

Drake (FCS): Drake has promoted special teams coordinator/offensive line coach Rick Fox to head coach following the departure of Chris Creighton. 

UConn: Sources tell us Notre Dame defensive coordinator Bob Diaco will be the new head coach at UConn. Sources tell us the deal is being papered now and will be official later tonight. Here's what you need to know.

Eastern Michigan: Sources tell us Drake head coach Chris Creighton will be the new head coach at Eastern Michigan. Here's what you need to know. Early word from sources is that Creighton will bring a significant portion of his staff from Drake to EMU. We will update...

FAU: Interim head coach Brian Wright has been told that he will not be the new head coach by AD Pat Chun (per Dieter Kurtenbach). 

Washington: Chris Petersen has brought the following Boise State assistants with him, according to the Bronco Beat; running backs coach Keith Bhonapha, defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski, associate head coach / offensive line coach Chris Strausser, and secondary coach Jimmy Lake.

Central Washington (D-II): The four finalists for the head coaching job are Chris Tormey (former Idaho and Nevada head coach), Ian Shoemaker (co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach at St. Cloud State), Mat Taylor (head coach at Skyline HS), and John Graham (Eastern Washington associate head coach / defensive coordinator), according to the Yakima Herald.

Carnegie Mellon (D-III - PA): After 28 years as the offensive coordinator (and 29 overall with the program), Rich Erdelyi has announced that he will retire, effective June 30, 2014.

Elon: Ball State offensive coordinator Rich Skrosky will be the new head coach at Elon. Skrosky has been an innovative and highly successful offensive coordinator on Pete Lembo's staff for years (been with Lembo since 2006). We think he will do well at Elon. 

Nebraska-Kearney (D-II): The University of Nebraska Kearney seeks highly qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Football Coach (receivers) / lecturer for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Kinesiology and Sport Sciences Department. Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field and must work toward completion of a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and Sport Sciences field, Master’s degree in Kinesiology and Sport Sciences or related field, more than 5 years coaching experience in intercollegiate football at the Division II or higher level. Virginia Union: Former Virginia Union and Hampton head coach Joe Taylor will be announced as the new athletic director.

North Carolina Central: Sources tell us that Southern head coach Dawson Odums is interviewing for the head job at his Alma Mater, NCCU. 

UConn: Sources tell us that after meeting with UConn athletic director Warde Manuel this morning Pat Narduzzi has turned down the opportunity to become UConn's next head coach. Additional details to come...

Dakota Wesleyan (NAIA - SD): Dakota Wesleyan University (Mitchell, SD) is looking for a football graduate assistant (defensive line). Qualifications include acceptance into the Dakota Wesleyan University Graduate Program. Graduate Assistant package includes a 2/3 tuition waiver and a small stipend. Housing options are available. Coaching or playing experience on the defensive line is preferred but not required for the position. Review of candidates will begin immediately. Start date is January 1st 2014. Arkansas State: Defensive coordinator John Thompson will coach the Red Wolves in their Jan. 5 bowl game against Ball State. 

North Dakota: With the deadline to apply for the head coaching position now behind us, here is a full list of who has applied for the job. Lots of notable names are in the mix.

Wyoming: Details of Craig Bohl's contract have been unveiled - Bohl has signed a five-year deal paying him at least $750,000 in 2014 and at least $950,000 in 2018. 

Hardin-Simmons (D-III - TX): Wide receivers coach Joey McQueen will be the new head coach at Florence (TX) High School.

Boise State: Sources confirm to us that Bryan Harsin will be the new head coach at Boise State. Update> ESPN and others confirming the same now. Steven Godfrey reports that Koetter "had hesitations and a formal offer was made to Harsin last night." 

Maine: The three finalists for the director of athletics position at Maine are Karlton Creech (senior associate AD at North Carolina, Jim Herlihy (director of athletics at the University of Montevallo), and Scott Kull (associate AD for external operations at TCU). Candidates will begin interviewing on December 15.

Virginia Military (FCS - VA): VMI is in need of a home game on October 18, 2014. Will pay guarantee or return in 2017. If interested, please contact Tom Shupe, Associate Director of Athletics, at 540-464-7529 or via email at [email protected]

Holy Cross (FCS): The search for the next athletic director is down to two candidates according to The Telegram. Central Connecticut State director of athletics Paul Schlickmann, and University of Maryland deputy athletic director Nathan Pine are the two finalists for the position. Back in July, current athletic director Dick Regan announced that he would be stepping down.

Maryland: Defensive line coach Greg Gattuso, who recently accepted the head coaching job at Albany, will remain with the team through the Military Bowl before heading to Albany full time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of former Arkansas State head coach Steve Roberts today. His father, Carl, has passed away. 

Texas: Fort Worth Star-Telegram reporter Stefan Stevenson reports tonight that "Source close to Texas executive council of regents says Nick Saban will be the next Longhorns coach." Simply fascinating to watch this unfold...

Alabama: Gil Brandt has reported that Nick Saban is in negotiations with the Crimson Tide for an extension in the $7 million range. Just a reminder that a deal isn't a deal until it is signed.  

Hawaii: Defensive coordinator Thom Kaumeyer and linebackers coach Tony Tuioti will not return to the staff according to Bruce Feldman. 

Wake Forest: Dave Clawson said at his press conference today he'd like to bring Bowling Green offensive coordinator Warren Ruggiero, defensive coordinator Mike Elko and special teams coordinator Adam Scheier with him to Wake Forest. Clawson mentioned that one of his coordinators was a candidate for the Bowling Green head job. Through a separate source we had heard that Scheier was a candidate for the job, but have not confirmed that. 

Allegheny (D-III - PA): The school is no longer accepting applicants for their assistant coaching job.

Boise State: Sources tell us Dirk Koetter is working out the details but we have not yet confirmed. Update >> Boise State's Rivals site (as well as numerous other outlets) is reporting that Bryan Harsin has reportedly withdrawn from the search process. Also, Jeff Tedford has interviewed for the job as well. 4pm ct Update> Sources tell us its down to Tedford and Koetter. We were told to expect resolution tonight. 

Ole Miss: Hugh Freeze has received a one-year contract extension, pushing his salary to $3 million. The Rebels' assistant salary pool will also increase by $400,000. 

Texas: Chip Brown of Orangebloods is reporting that Mack Brown will step down this week. Chip states that Mack will move into a special assistant to the President of UT role. Both the university and Mack have said the decision has not been finalized yet (but this is still happening folks). Here's what we have so far. More to come...

Eastern Michigan: Louisville running backs coach / special teams coordinator Kenny Carter has interviewed for the Eastern Michigan job. Eastern Illinois head coach Dino Babers has also interviewed and is considered by some we speak with to be the favorite for the job. Expect a decision this week. 

Fordham: Joe Moorhead has signed an extension through the 2021 season. Nice. 

Texas A&M: The Texas A&M Board of Regents will approve Kevin Sumlin's contract extension Thursday according to Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News. 

Iowa State: Sources tell us that the most likely situation at Iowa State is that offensive line coach Chris Klenakis or receivers coach Todd Sturdy get promoted to offensive coordinator. New hires will then fill in the appropriate positions based on best fit within the staff. 

North Carolina Central (FCS): Winston-Salem State head coach Connell Maynor was on campus yesterday interviewing for the head coaching vacancy, according to Journal Now.

Gardner-Webb (FCS - NC): Gardner-Webb University has two openings on their 2014 schedule. The open dates are September 13, October 11, or October 25. They are interested in a home and home series with a FCS opponent or a home game with a NCAA D-II or NAIA program. Southern Utah (FCS): Head coach Ed Lamb has received a contract extension taking him through the 2020 season. Lamb led the program to the FCS playoffs this season and an 8-5 record (tied for most in school history).

Stephen F. Austin: Sources tell us TCU receivers coach Curtis Luper is interviewing this week for the head job at Stephen F. Austin. Luper is an SFA alum. 

USC: Sources tell us that Baltimore Ravens assistant offensive line coach Todd Washington is a strong candidate to join Sark's staff as offensive line coach.  

Mercer: Head coach Bobby Lamb has agreed to an extension through the 2019 season. Lamb led the Bears to 10 wins in their first season.  

Bowling Green: The program has announced that special teams coordinator / tight ends coach Adam Scheier will serve as the interim head coach.

North Dakota: Just a reminder, today is the last day to apply for the head coaching job. We'll provide an update on this one later.

Valpo (FCS): Sources tell us that Lehigh offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Dave Cecchini will be the new head coach at Valpo.

Albany (FCS): Greg Gattuso has signed a five year deal worth $230,000 annually, according to the Times Union.

Wake Forest: Wake Forest has offered the head job to Dave Clawson according to Bruce Feldman. If Clawson accepts, and it would be surprising if he didn't, we along with many in the coaching profession presume Bowling Green's first call is to DJ Durkin at Florida. Update> SI & others are now reporting that Clawson has accepted the job. Here's what you need to know.

Wyoming: Craig Bohl came out this afternoon and confirmed that he has retained Pete Kaligis (position to be determined). 

Washington: For bowl game preparations, offensive grad assistant Kenyon Blue will coach the running backs and tight ends coach Jordan PaoPao will take over the special teams responsibilities.

Washington: Chris Petersen's summary agreement can be seen here. In short, five years averaging $3.6 million before incentives. His buyout begins at $3 million in year one, $2.5 million in years 2 and 3 and $1.5 million in year 4. Washington will pay the $750,000 buyout that is owed to Boise State. 

Seton Hill (D-II - PA): The Seton Hill University Athletic Department has two full-time openings for assistant football coaches working the quarterbacks and receivers. A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s preferred. Two years prior college coaching experience preferred. The salary range is $27,744 – $31,212. FAU: Eddie Gran is no longer involved with the process per Bruce Feldman. 

USC: We hear Sark is trying to lure Arizona State recruiting coordinator / tight ends coach Chip Long to SC. We'll keep you posted.

Montana Tech (NAIA): Montana Tech is currently accepting applications for an offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coaching position. Coaching duties include: coordinate and supervise all offensive scheme implementation, oversee offensive coaching assistants, assist with all public relations and administrative functions. Weber State (FCS): Sources tell us that Brandon Doman, Justin Ena and Gary Crowton are all being considered by the AD. We'll keep you posted. We had been told that Aaron Roderick was being considered as well; but have heard that he is not interested in the job and is not a candidate. 

Michigan State: AD Mark Hollis said raises are coming for head coach Mark Dantonio and his assistants following the Spartans' Big Ten championship. Dantonio makes $1.96 million a year according to USA Today. 

Boise State: Bryan Harsin is interviewing today at Boise according to Bruce Feldman. We also hear that Dirk Koetter is interviewing today as well. 

Nebraska-Kearney (D-II): This post has been temporarily removed at the request of their Human Resources department.

Rutgers: Joe Rossi will coordinate the defense in the bowl game on top of his special teams coordinator duties, grad assistant Darnell Stapleton will coach the offensive line and offensive coordinator Ron Prince will coach the quarterbacks.

USC: Defensive grad assistant Ross Cumming will coach the defensive lineman in USC's bowl practices. Cumming worked with the outside linebackers this season.

UConn: Connecticut has formally requested permission to talk to Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi.

West Alabama: West Alabama will announce their new head coach later today. We hear Brett Gilliland (quarterbacks coach - Kennesaw State) is the choice. Update >> We have confirmed.

Wyoming: Craig Bohl's agreement is five years with a base salary of $750,000 which he can bring up to $1.2 million through incentives. 

Seton Hill (D-II - PA): The Seton Hill University Athletic Department has a part-time 10 month intern position (paid over 12 months) coaching the running backs. The purpose of this position is to recruit, coach, and retain full roster team. A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s preferred. Two years prior college coaching experience preferred. Special Teams experience desired and on the road recruiting experience at the college level is required. Annual compensation is $11,000, incumbent will also be provided with $800 in dining hall flex annually. No housing or benefits offered. Albany: We hear Jim Sweeney will also join Greg Gattuso's staff (likely as offensive line). 

West Texas A&M: Sources tell us Mike Nesbitt will be named head coach tomorrow. Nesbitt served as interim head coach this season. Nesbitt served as offensive coordinator at Houston for a brief time and in the same capacity at Stephen F. Austin prior to that. 

West Alabama: We continue to hear that Troy offensive coordinator Kenny Edenfield is involved. Edenfield has two sons on the team at Troy I believe. Seems like it would take a great offer for him to move at this time; but we'll keep you posted...

Wake: Dave Clawson's interview with Wake Forest is today per SI. 

Albany: Sources tell us Colorado School of Mines associate head coach / defensive coordinator Bob Benson plans to join Greg Gattuso's staff as defensive coordinator. 

Oberlin (D-III - OH):  Head coach Jeff Ramsey has stepped down. Jay Anderson will serve as interim head coach during the search. 

Rutgers: Defensive coordinator Dave Cohen, offensive line coach Damian Wroblewski and quarterbacks coach Rob Spence will not return to the staff according to Tom Liucci of the Newark Star-Ledger.

Gruden: Mort reports that Jon Gruden does not plan to return to coaching in 2014. 

Kansas: Rice offensive coordinator John Reagan has now formally accepted the offensive coordinator / offensive line job at Kansas. Further, linebackers coach Clint Bowen has been promoted to defensive coordinator. Dave Campo "will continue to oversee the defense as the assistant head coach". At Rice, we hear there is a good chance that receivers coach Billy Lynch will step into the offensive coordinator role; but that is not official. We'll keep you posted. 

Washington: Boise State running backs coach Keith Bhonapha has left to join Chris Petersen's staff at UW the Idaho Statesman reports. 

Eastern Michigan: Sources tell us that Mike Hart is interviewing as well. We continue to hear in the profession that John Wristen could be offered the job (interviewed late last week). We'll keep you updated...

UConn: Athletic director Warde Manuel begins official interviews today. Interim head coach TJ Weist is on the docket. Would think that Dave Clawson would be today as well. We'll keep you posted.  

Wyoming: Sources tell us that Craig Bohl has offered positions at Wyoming to offensive coordinator Brent Vigen, defensive coordinator Chris Klieman, recruiting coordinator (receivers) Kenni Burns, linebackers coach Steve Stanard and offensive line coach Scott Fuchs. We also hear that at this time, Bohl plans to continue to coach his NDSU team through their playoff run.

Sad news to pass along as we have learned that coach Bob Dipipi has passed away. Dipipi, who coached at Temple, Cal and Princeton among other places, was well liked within the profession and by his players and will be missed my many. Our prayers and condolences are with Coach Dipipi's family. 

Wyoming: The Cowboys will hire North Dakota State head coach Craig Bohl to the same position according to Bruce Feldman. We've been hearing this all day, but have not confirmed. The timing sure is odd; but if accurate this is a great hire. 

Sul Ross State (D-III - TX): Sources tell us Tarleton State offensive coordinator Justin Carrigan was a strong candidate for the Sul Ross head coaching position but has chosen to withdraw from the process. 

Florida State: The Palm Beach Post is reporting that Jimbo Fisher has agreed to a new agreement (5-7 years averaging about $4.1 million per). The Post says an announcement from the University will come early next week. 

Grambling: Head coach Broderick Fobbs will earn $195,000 per year under his new contract. 

Tulane: Curtis Johnson has agreed to an extension that runs through the 2020 season. Huge for CJ. 

Hardin-Simmons (D-III - TX): Hardin-Simmons is looking for a new defensive coordinator. Bob Fello will not return. Information is on the HSU website. 

New Mexico: Sources tell us defensive coordinator Jeff Mills will not return to the staff. 

Wyoming: Sources tell us that Illinois State head coach Brock Spack is on Wyoming's campus today interviewing for the head coaching position. Update> We have heard from coaches at Illinois State that Spack was at Illinois State today. 

Albany (FCS): Sources tell us Maryland assistant head coach/defensive line coach Greg Gattuso will be the new head coach at Albany. 

Boise State: The Idaho Statesman has identified the Broncos' top three targets as Washington defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox, Arkansas State head coach Bryan Harsin and Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter. All three have significant Boise ties. 

Bloomsburg (D-II - PA): Paul Darragh has removed his interim tag and will be Bloomsburg's full-time head coach. Darragh led Bloomsburg to a 10-2 finish, a PSAC championship and a berth in the Division II playoffs in 2013.
