Arkansas: We hear John L. Smith is heading to Arkansas as an assistant.

Eastern Michigan: Former Michigan running back Tyrone Wheatley will coach the running backs at EMU.

Kentucky: Randy Sanders has been promoted to offensive coordinator.  Joker Philips promoted to head coach of offense.

New Mexico: We hear Mike Locksley has hired former Tennessee Vols quarterback Tee Martin as an assistant coach.

North Texas: Running backs coach Shelton Gandy will add the role of special teams coordinator.  Defensive tackles coach Robert Drake has left the program to coach on the high school level.
Oklahoma State: Check the DFO Scoop

Penn State: Defensive line coach Larry Johnson will remain with the Nittany Lions after turning down an offer to join the Illinois staff as defensive coordinator.

Washington: Utah wide receivers coach Aaron Roderick has interviewed with Steve Sarkisian.

Detroit Lions: Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz will be named head coach.

Eastern Michigan: As FootballScoop first reported, Appalachian State wide receivers coach Antonio Carter has officially joined the staff at Eastern Michigan.  Carter will coach the wide receivers.  Tom Burpee will coach the tight ends and special teams at EMU.  Tim Carter will coach the defensive backs.

Green Bay Packers: Curtis Fuller will be named special teams assistant.

San Diego State: Brian Sipe has been hired as quarterbacks coach.  Sipe previously coach at the high school level in CA.

Southern Arkansas: We hear UAB defensive GA Jim Lawson will join the Southern Arkansas staff.


Henderson State: Department of Athletics (Football) Position: Assistant Coach for football, Offensive Line, HPER Instructor. Job Description: Various duties as assigned by the head football coach associated with operating a NCAA-II football program at the highest possible level.  Duties will also include class instruction under the direction of the HPER Department.  Qualifications: Master's degree and successful collegiate coaching experience. Preferred, at least 2 years as a full time offensive line coach at the collegiate level is preferred. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. The university: Henderson State University is Arkansas's Public Liberal Arts University and a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges.  The university is ranked in the top tier among "Best Universities - Masters in the South Region" in the 2008 edition of "America's Best Colleges" by U. S. Notre Dame:  We hear head coach Charlie Weis is interested in Ohio State defensive line coach Luke Fickel.

Auburn: Former Mississippi State offensive line coach J.B. Grimes has interviewed for the offensive line position.  We hear former Auburn quarterbacks coach Steve Ensminger will join the staff at Smiths Station HS in Alabama.

Cal Poly: Our sources tell us that Bryan Cook will be the new offensive coordinator. 

Cleveland Browns: New England Patriots special teams coordinator Brad Seely is heading to Cleveland to coach the special teams.

Green Bay Packers: We hear Shawn Slocum will be promoted to special teams coordinator.

Indianapolis Colts: Special teams coordinator Russ Purnell will not return.

Illinois: Head coach Ron Zook has offered the defensive coordinator job to Penn State defensive line coach Larry Johnson Sr.

Miami Dolphins: We hear offensive line coach Mike Maser will not return.

Middle Tennessee State: We hear MTSU may promote from within the offensive staff.  Offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus left last week for South Carolina.

Oklahoma State: South Carolina running backs coach Robert Gillespie will join the Oklahoma State staff.

Ole Miss: We hear Houston Nutt could be targeting Don Dunn (former Auburn), Steve Caldwell (former Tennessee), or Mike Dubose (Millsaps HC) to fill the defensive line position.

Rose-Hulman Institute: Rose-Hulman is no longer accepting GA applications.

San Diego State: Former Ball State assistant Mark Smith has joined the San Diego State staff as linebackers coach.

South Alabama: We hear head coach Joey Jones has talked with former Samford University assistant Brent Bedsole about joining the staff as director of football operations.

ULM: We hear that former Utah State offensive line coach Vance Vice will join the Louisiana-Monroe staff as offensive line coach.

Auburn: Mississippi Gulf Coast CC head coach Steve Campbell has spoken with Gene Chizik about the offensive line position.

Ball State: Former North Dakota State offensive coordinator Pat Perles will be named offensive line / assistant head coach.  Veteran coach Doug Graber will be named defensive coordinator.  Graber has been out of football the past few seasons.  He previously served as head coach of the Frankfurt Galaxy and on the NY Jets staff.

Blackburn College: We hear Blackburn is dropping football, effective immediately. Offensive coordinator Nathan Cochran recently accepted the head coaching job at Lincoln University.

Boston College: Defensive coordinator Frank Spaziani has been named head coach.

Bowling Green: We hear head coach Dave Clawson has spoken with Marshall defensive backs coach Shannon Morrison.

Cal Poly: We hear Saga Tuitele will be co-offensive coordinator.

Indianapolis Colts: We hear Frank Reich will be elevated to quarterbacks. 

New Mexico State: We hear former Cal defensive backs coach Todd Littlejohn has been offered a position at New Mexico State.

New Orleans Saints: We hear Gregg Williams was hired this morning as defensive coordinator.

North Dakota State: We hear assistant coach Brent Vigen will be promoted from quarterbacks to offensive coordinator.  Our sources tell us Southern Illinois offensive line coach Scott Fuchs will return to NDSU to coach the offensive line.

Oregon: We hear former Tennessee Vols quarterbacks and current TV analyst Tee Martin could land on the staff at Oregon when Chip Kelly takes over as head coach.

Presbyterian College: Our sources tell us that Bucknell University offensive coordinator Harold Nichols will be named head coach.

Seattle Seahawks: Wide receivers coach Keith Gilbertson will not return.  Bruce DeHaven will return as special teams coach.  Mike Solari (quarterbacks) and Bill Lazor (running backs) will also return.

Tennessee: All 6 graduate assistants will not return.

UMASS: We hear UMASS is interested in Boston College offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr. to replace Don Brown.

USC: USC has hired Oakland Raiders special teams coach Brian Schneider to coach the Trojan's special teams.

Utah State: T.J. Woods has joined the Utah State staff as tight ends coach.  Woods previously served as an assistant coach at New Mexico.

Washington: Fresno State offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier will be named quarterbacks coach.


CK Crash: a semi-pro football organization out of Cereda-Kenova, West Virginia is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Football Coach. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with all phases of the football program as it relates to the mission of the CK Crash. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to coaching, recruiting, fund raising and providing a positive experience for our team. This position will have specific coaching responsibilities as assigned by the defensive coordinator.  This is a volunteer position.
