College Football Playoff: Former Stanford, Notre Dame and Washington head coach Tyrone Willingham and former USA Today reporter Steve Wieberg will join the College Football Playoff selection committee according to Brett McMurphy. Willingham will be the first coach to join the committee. Update: McMurphy also reports former Nebraska coach/athletics director Tom Osborne will also join the committee.

Northwestern: The Wildcats have announced a $10 million endowment for the athletics director position, to be named after Chris and Courtney Combe. Jim Phillips has been Northwestern's AD since April of 2008.

Playoff Selection Committee: The AP is reporting that Pat Haden (USC/Pac-12), Jeff Long (Arkansas/SEC), Dan Radakovich (Clemson/ACC), Barry Alvarez (Wisconsin/Big Ten) and Oliver Luck (West Virginia/Big-12) will be members of the selection committee. Does it really matter who is on the committee?
FAU: Armando Murillo has joined the staff as on campus recruiting coordinator / director of player personnel. Murillo played at Nebraska when Carl was there serving as defensive coordinator.
USC: Fox Sports is reporting that, after letting Lane Kiffin go, the school offered to bring former Cal head coach Jeff Tedford on as a consultant and recruiter. According to the report, Tedford declined the offer and is focused on finding his next full-time position. Following practice today Ed Orgeron confirmed he offered a position to Tedford and that Jeff declined.
Livingstone College (D-II - NC): Sources tell us defensive line coach Rodney Simmons has left the staff for personal reasons and will not return.

Toledo: The school has announced a five-year contract extension for athletics director Mike O'Brien, keeping him at Toledo through July 2021. O'Brien is due a $36,000 pay bump, pushing him to $245,000 a year and pushes him to sixth among MAC athletics directors.
Texas: TCU athletics director Chris Del Conte told the Austin American-Statesman's Kirk Bohls he would have "no interest" in the Longhorns' AD opening. "I believe I have the best job in the country," Del Conte added.
