Minnesota: Head coach Tim Brewster confirmed this afternoon that he is no longer a candidate at Kansas.

Florida State: Running backs coach Dexter Carter, who will not be retained, says, "I enjoyed coaching them. I feel like we were - I guess the bottom line is - productive. But it doesn't matter. Because he's got to [put together] a staff in a manner in which he sees is the best fit as he moves forward. And he doesn't owe me an explanation, which I didn't ask for one and he didn't give.""[Coaching at FSU was a] tremendous opportunity. I believe I took advantage of it. I surely leave better equipped, smarter, more equipped to move forward in this coaching profession. I've been able to learn from some of the best coaches ... I leave better than I came. So I feel very, very fortunate."

"I still plan on coaching."

Star. Gracious, confident, professional, everything." What a great compliment to Kelly!

"All those are important characteristics we look for. They may have 2 of the 4, or 3 of the 4, but we want a person with 4-of-4."

"I chatted with (Brewster) about it very, very briefly. I told him I'm getting tired of all of these Kansas calls. That's kind of been my conversations with him. I know how the game is played. I know how it is. I'm respectful of that. I'm not going to believe the rumors until they're fact. I'm not going to knee-jerk react one way or the other because of it."
