Miami (FL): Our sources tell us that Miami head coach Randy Shannon will announce a new offensive coordinator no later than Tuesday.   We hear Philadephia Eagles assistant Mark Whipple is indeed the clear top candidate.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Former Indianapolis Colts special teams coordinator Russ Purnell has joined the Jaguars' staff in the same capacity.  Johnny Cox joins the staff as quality control coach.  Cox previously served as the wide receivers / special teams coordinator at Holy Cross.  Charlie Jackson will serve as defensive line coach.  He previously served as a defensive assistant with the Denver Broncos.

Miami Dolphins: New York Giants assistant offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo has joined the Miami staff as offensive line coach.

NY Jets: Jim O'Neil joins the staff as quality control coach.  O'Neil previously served as recruiting coordinator / safeties coach at Eastern Michigan.  St. Louis Rams wide receivers coach Henry Ellard is joining the Jets' staff in the same capacity.

St. Louis Rams: Charlie Baggett has been hired as the new wide receivers coach.  Baggett previously coach the wide receivers at the University of Washington.

Yale: We hear Wingate University tight ends coach Mike Preston will join the Yale staff as offensive line coach.

Important Note: In the next few weeks FootballScoop intends to add another great piece of content to the site, a complete list of all D1 staffs.  To ensure our list is as complete and accurate as possible, we are asking that someone from each D1 staff email us the current list of coaches and all GAs / quality control along with their respective titles. Boston College: Gary Tranquill has been hired as the new offensive coordinator.  Tranquill last served as the offensive coordinator under John Bunting at North Carolina.  Linebackers coach Bill McGovern is expected to be named defensive coordinator.

Marshall: We hear former Louisville defensive coordinator Mike Cassity will join the Marshall staff as defensive backs coach.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Mel Tucker has been named defensive coordinator.

New Mexico: Here is a recap of Mike Locksley's staff: Darrell Dickey (offensive coordinator), Doug Mallory (defensive coordinator), Toby Neinas (linebackers / special teams coordinator), George Barlow (defensive backs), Cheston Blackshire (tackles / tight ends), Rubin Carter (defensive line), Mike Degory (centers and guards), J.B. Gerald (wide receivers / recruiting coordinator), Tee Martin (quarterbacks).  Dickey previously served at Utah State offensive coordinator.  Mallory previously served as co-defensive coordinator at LSU.  Neinas previously served as outside linebackers / special teams at San Diego State.  Barlow previously served as assistant head coach / defensive coordinator / safeties at James Madison.  Blackshear coach the offensive line at Columbia.  Carter is the former head coach at Florida A&M.  Degory served as a GA at Illinois.  J.B. Gerald served as offensive quality control at Illinois.  Tee Martin served as a college football television analyst. 

New York Giants: Boston College offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr. has joined the Giants staff as assistant offensive line coach. 

NY Jets: We hear head coach Rex Ryan is interested having Marshall defensive coordinator Rick Minter join the Jets' staff.

Oregon: We hear Marshall defensive line coach Jerry Azzinaro has interviewed with the Ducks.

Friday January 23, 2009 (Update 3)

Kansas City Chiefs: Head coach Herm Edwards will not return.

Western Kentucky: Offensive line coach Walter Wells has been promoted to offensive coordinator.  Kevin Wright will move from OC to quarterbacks.  Mike Dietzel will move from linebackers to defensive coordinator.  Running back coach Stu Holt will now coordinator the special teams.

UCONN: Our sources tell us Allegheny College quarterbacks coach Andrew Breiner has accepted the offensive GA position at UCONN.

Detroit Lions: Former St. Louis Rams head coach Scott Linehan has accepeted the offensvie coordinator position with the Detroit Lions.

NY Jets: Brian Schottenheimer will remain as offensive coordinator.

St. Louis Rams: Pat Shurmer is the new offensive coordinator.  Shurmer previously served as quarterbacks coach with the Philadelphia Eagles.
