Houston & Rice Coaching Clinic: University of Houston head football coach Kevin Sumlin and his coaching staff will join forces with cross-town rival Rice and its head coach David Bailiff and coaching staff to plan and coordinate a coaching clinic on May 8- 9, 2009, at John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium. The clinic will benefit the Gridiron Heroes Spinal Cord Injury Foundation. The Gridiron Heroes Spinal Cord Injury Foundation was formed with a specific mission to provide immediate as well as long-term resources and support to individuals sustaining a catastrophic spinal cord injury through activities associated with high school football. Founded in 2003, the organization continues to support the needs of injured high school athletes and their families that are dealing with the day-to-day challenges that living with a spinal cord injury presents.

MIT: Chad Martinovich has accepted the head coaching job at MIT.  Martinovich previously served as the defensive coordinator at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Hinds CC: Our sources tell us that Hinds CC has hired former Birmingham Southern assistant Dwayne Curry.  Curry has also coached at East Mississippi JC and played college ball at Mississippi State.

UT-San Antonio: Former Illinois State assistant Mike Menefee has joined the staff under Larry Coker.  Former SMU assistant under Phil Bennett, Eric Roark, has joined the staff.  Bennett most recently served as the defensive coordinator at Grand Prairie High School in Texas.  David Ross, who served as the defensive coordinator at Illinois State under Denver Johnson, has also been hired by head coach Larry Coker.
