The NCAA selected 19 football coaches to participate in the 2009 NCAA Expert Coaches Forum. The forum targets coaches with at least eight years of experience and is designed to improve and reinforce critical aspects of securing, managing and excelling in head football coaching positions at the intercollegiate level. Topics that will be covered during the three-day workshop include media training, fiscal responsibility, building a successful program, compliance issues and academic issues.

Ohio State: There is a report that offensive quality control coach Nick Siciliano will be taking over the quarterbacks job at Ohio State.  Through an NCAA waiver, Siciliano coached the Buckeye quarterbacks last fall and again during spring practice as Joe Daniels continued his fight to overcome cancer.  Daniels was first diagnosed with cancer in 2006.

Wingate: We hear former Wingate defensive backs coach, Eric Puryear, has accepted the Southern Lee HS job in North Carolina.

Delaware: Jason Hescock has been promoted from graduate assistant to assistant linebackers coach.  Former Wabash College assistant coach Drew Nystrom has joined the staff as a defensive grad assistant.  Also, former Cortland assistant secondary coach, Stephen Thomas, has joined the staff as an offensive grad assistant. 

UW-River Falls: Former Cornell College (IA) assistant Jeff Rogers is now working as the linebackers / special teams coordinator job at UW-River Falls.

Open Dates Database: The 2010 Open Dates Database has been updated with 7 new programs.  The 2011 Open Dates still does not have enough teams.  As soon as we receive enough information from athletic directors & head coaches, we will post the 2011 Database.

Portland State University: an NCAA FCS institution and a member of the Big Sky Conference, is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Assistant Football Coach/Offense.  The position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of developing and advancing a competitive football program in the Big Sky Conference. This includes, but is not limited to: coaching, recruiting, and counseling student-athletes; managing selected administrative duties of the program; fundraising and public relations; supervising assistants.  Compliance with all the rules and regulations of the university, NCAA, and Big Sky Conference is expected. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required or NFL Assistant coaching experience.  Minimum three years collegiate coaching / collegiate competition required. Urbana: Former Georgia grad assistant John Shingler is the new linebackers coach at Urbana.

Livingstone College: Defensive line coach Corey McCloud has been promoted to special teams coordinator. 

Marshall: Kyle Lingerfelt has accepted the director of high school relations position.

Ouachita Baptist: FootballScoop has confirmed that Midwestern State University safeties coach Adam Olson has just accepted the defensive backs job at Ouachita Baptist.

Rochester Community and Technical College: Our sources have told us that former Concord University and Iowa Area CC assistant coach Kyle Barnes has accepted the offensive coordinator job.

SUNY-Cortland: Former Minnesota assistant Greg Roskos has joined the staff as offensive coordinator.  Jason Rebrovich has joined the staff as defensive coordinator / strength coach.  Also, former Concord College assistant Ola Adams has accepted the safeties job.

Georiga: We are hearing that UAB defensive GA, Malcolm Doolittle, has been hired as a defensive GA at the University of Georgia.  Doolittle will be counted on to "do alot" at UGA.  Sorry, we had to.

Harvard: We are also hearing that Wagner College defensive backs coach Mike Horan has just accepted the defensive assistant job at Harvard.

Newberry: Our sources tell us Zochiah Ellis, the offensive GA at UAB, has been named running backs coach at Newberry.

College at Brockport (NY): Our sources tell us that Fordham University running backs coach, Ryan Fullen, has accepted the linebackers/video coordinator job at the College at Brockport. 

Houston: University of Akron athletic director Mack Rhoades is a finalist for the UH athletic director position.

Savannah State: Savannah State officially announced the promotion of wide receivers coach Eddie Johnson to offensive coordinator.  Johnson will now coach the quarterbacks as well.  Johnson served as the interim offensive coordinator during spring ball.  FootballScoop was able to bring you this news in late April. 

Tennessee: We hear director of player personnel, Paul Gonnella, has left the UT staff.  Gonnella had previously served in the same capacity for head coach Butch Davis at UNC, where Davis relied very heavily on Gonnella. Furthermore, coordinator of football operations Scott Altizer will no longer serve in the UT recruiting department.  After 15 years of service, Altizer is moving into a new role with the UT event management department.
