Syracuse: ESPN radio is reporting that New Orleans Saints assistant Doug Marrone will be named the new head coach at Syracuse. FootballScoop was the first to report weeks ago that Marrone was the leading candidate to replace Greg Robinson as head coach.
Arkansas: We hear the Garrick McGee will remain at Arkansas, receive a raise, and add the title of associate head coach. McGee was a candidate for the head coaching position at Illinois State.
Citrus College: We hear that defensive coordinator Ron Ponciano will be named new head coach at Citrus College.
Washington: Sources tell FootballScoop that Steve Sarkisian has been in touch with Memphis offensive line coach Rick Mallory. We also hear that Mount San Angelo JC assistant Demetrice Martin will be the new defensive backs coach at Washington.

Auburn: ESPN is reporting that TCU head coach Gary Patterson will interview at Auburn and Tulsa head coach Todd Graham has interviewed. FootballScoop believes that in order for Auburn to compete at the level they have competed at over the last decade under Tommy Tuberville, the Tigers need to hire a head coach who will continue to do a great job recruiting in the state of Florida. Recruiting is getting tougher in the state of Alabama because of Nick Saban and the Tigers might have a more difficult time luring Nashville, TN prospects to the Plains with Lane Kiffen.
Concord University: We hear Mike Kellar has been named head coach at Concord University (WV). Kellar previously served as the offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach at California University (PA).
Gustavus Adolphus College: Peter Haugen has been named head football coach. Haugen previously served the last 15 years as head coach at Minneapolis Washburn High School.
New Mexico State: It appears Terry Bowden and former Oklahoma State head coach Bob Simmons have expressed interest in the job. We hear that New Mexico State officials spoke on the phone with Pittsburgh Steelers assistant Kirby Wilson, but that Wilson is not a serious candidate.
Northwestern State: Sources tell FootballScoop Northwestern State could be down to Abilene Christian head coach Chris Thomsen, Northwestern State defensive coordinator Brad Laird, and Arkansas State defensive coordinator Kevin Corless.
Texas A&M - Commerce: We hear the interim head coach has a legitimate chance to get the head coaching job.
Tennessee: Sources tell us that Lane Kiffin is waiting on at least 2 NFL coaches and 1 NFL front-office guy to join the staff in Knoxville.
Tulane: We hear Rocky Long will not be joining the Tulane staff as defensive coordinator.

Miami (OH): Here's the deal. We hear the candidates have been narrowed down to the following: Curt Mallory (Illinois), Don Treadwell (Michigan State), Randy Fichtner (Pittsburgh Steelers), Mitch Browning (Syracuse), and John Peterson (Ohio State). We heard Peterson was one of the first to speak with Miami representatives. Detroit Lions quarterbacks coach, Scott Loeffler, is still in it. Sources tell FootballScoop that Miami (OH) boosters are quite upset that New Orleans Saints assistant Aaron Kromer is not a legitimate candidate as of today.
Rutgers: Athletic director Robert Mulcahy has been dismissed by the university president.

Syracuse: We hear East Carolina head coach Skip Holtz is no longer interested in the Syracuse head coaching position. Reports says that Syracuse will interview Buffalo head coach Turner Gill.
UT-Chattanooga: North Alabama head coach Mark Hudspeth met yesterday with UTC athletic director Rick Hart. We hear that Hart is waiting on Richmond defensive coordinator Russ Huesman. Richmond is still alive in the D1-AA playoffs.

Mississippi State: Sources are reporting that Florida offensive coordinator Dan Mullen will accept the head coaching job at Mississippi State.
Alabama State: Our sources tell us the Jo Nixon has accepted the defensive coordinator job at Alabama State.
Clemson: We hear that former Tennessee defensive coordinator John Chavis will interview for a 2nd time today at Clemson. Head coach Dabo Swinney is known to have interest in Alabama assistant Kevin Steele as well.
Grand Rapids Community College: FootballScoop has learned that Curtis Andrews will interview next week for the head coaching position. Andrews has served as the co-defensive coordinator / secondary coach at Grand Rapids CC.
Howard University: FootballScoop has learned that there is offensive line job open at Howard University.
San Jose State: Dick Tomey will not make any staff changes.
The Citadel: We hear there is a defensive line opening at The Citadel.
Washington: Sources tell FootballScoop that Idaho defensive line / special teams coordinator Johnny Nanson will likely join Steve Sarkisian's staff at Washington. We also hear that former Nevada linebackers coach Charlie Camp will be a part of the staff in some capacity.

Illinois State: Arkansas quarterbacks coach Garrick McGee has interviewed. We hear McGee will interview for a 2nd time in the next few days.

Miami (OH): We hear Miami (OH) is interested in Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers coach Randy Fichtner. Are Roethlisberger and Martin Nance pushing Fichtner? We've also heard that Miami (OH) has a big sleeper candidate as well. We're trying to confirm the other candidates today.
Oklahoma: Congratulations to offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson. Since Monday, Wilson has been awarded the 2008 FootballScoop Offensive Coordinator of the Year powered by Muscle Milk and the Broyles Award for the nation's top assistant coach.
Toledo: Sources tell us that Oklahoma State administrative recruiting coordinator Robert Matthews will join Tim Beckman's staff. Matthews' role is not known, but we've heard that he may be coaching the running backs at Toledo.
UT-Chattanooga: University of Georgia running backs coach Tony Ball will interview for the head coaching position at UTC.
Virginia: We hear that head coach Al Groh has talked with former Georgia Tech assistant Buddy Geis.
Washington: The only Washington assistant that could be retained is Chris Tormey. All other UW assistant have been told they will not be retained. We hear USC assistant Demetrice Martin will likely join Steve Sarkisian's staff at Washington. It appears that Louisville defensive coordinator Ron English is a candidate to join Sarkisian's staff as well.
