Carolina Panthers: We hear the scouting department has been awarded 2-year contracts.
Indianapolis Colts: Offensive coordinator Tom Moore will apparently retire. Clyde Christensen will take over as offensive coordinator and Pete Metzelaars will take over the offensive line.
Kansas State: Former Tennessee executive associate athletic director John Currie has landed the AD position at Kansas State.
Macalester College: Our sources tell us that offensive line coach Dave Hamlin has accepted a high school head coaching job in Minnesota. We hear Macalester is looking to hire an offensive assistant, most likely an offensive line coach.
Notre Dame College: Former Ohio Northern co-offensive coordinator Bill Rychel has accepted the offensive coordinator job at Notre Dame College.
San Diego State: Athletic director Jeff Schemmel has been awarded a contract extention through 2013.

Alabama St.: We hear Alabama St. has hired Dedrick Dodge as defensive backs and special teams coach. Dodge had served the past two seasons as DC at Fort Valley St.
Dallas Cowboys: We hear offensive quality control coach Wesley Phillips will head up the special teams for the Cowboys until assistant coach Joe DeCamillis returns from the terrible injury he sustained during the storm.
LA Pierce College: Our sources tell us Bill Coan has just joined the staff as linebackers / special teams coach. Coan once served as a high school head coach that tutored Matt Cassel.
Michigan State: We hear Ferris Eways has been promoted from video intern to defensive graduate assistant coach.
Saskatchewan Roughriders: Former Fresno State offensive assistant Mike Scheper has accepted the defensive line job with the Roughriders.

Our staff thought these were some interesting points about the "Assistant Head Coach" title.
Florida State: Rick Trickett is listed as Assistant Head Coach. Mickey Andrews is listed as Associate Head Coach. Chuck Amato is listed as Executive Head Coach. None of the above will be the next head coach.
Kansas State: Co-defensive coordinators Chris Cosh and Vic Koenning both hold the title of Assistant Head Coach.
Notre Dame: Wide receivers coach Rob Ianello has Assistant Head Coach for Offense as part of his title. Defensive coordinator / linebackers coach Jon Tenuta has Assistant Head Coach for Defense as part of his title.
South Carolina: Ellis Johnson no longer has the title of defensive coordinator. Johnson carries the title of Assistant Head Coach for defense.
Texas: Running backs coach Major Applewhite and defensive backs coach Duane Akina are both listed as the Assistant Head Coach.
USC: Jeremy Bates is not listed as offensive coordinator. Bates carries the title of Assistant Head Coach for offense. Ken Norton Jr. carries the title of Assistant Head Coach for defense.
Vanderbilt: Bruce Fowler no longer has the title of defensive coordinator. Fowler is listed as Assistant Head Coach for defense.

University of Iowa: FootballScoop has just learned that Iowa will hire from within for the defensive GA position.
San Francisco (UFL): FootballScoop has now learned that Tyrone Willingham and San Francisco (UFL) were unable to reach an agreement and Willingham is now not expected to join the San Francisco coaching staff under Dennis Green.

McMurry: Head coach Hal Mumme has added former New Mexico State defensive GA Chris Ruybal to his new staff. We hear Ruybal will coach the linebackers.
University of Penn: Former Rhode Island quarterbacks / wide receivers coach Mark Fabish has just joined the staff at Penn as tight ends coach. Fabish is a former Penn player.
South Alabama: The Strength and Conditioning staff at the University of South Alabama would like to invite you to the first University of South Alabama Strength and Conditioning Camp on May 23, 2009. This one-day seminar will provide you with information on different styles of training and how to incorporate them into your program. Founder of Westside Barbell, Louie Simmons, will be speaking on several different aspects of training, including implementation of conjugate periodization, importance of max effort training, the box squat as it pertains to power development, and speed-strength/strength speed development. The Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at Mississippi State University, Erik Korem, will be speaking on linear speed development. To conclude the day, the University of South Alabama's Head Football Strength and Conditioning coach, Justin Schwind, will be speaking on the importance of incorporating competition into your off-season program. The schedule will consist of:
- Registration from 8am to 8:30
- Morning session from 8:30-12pm
- Lunch from 12-1:15
- Afternoon session from 1:15-4:45
- Conclude the day with a Q&A session from 4:45-5pm.

Texas Tech: Former Red Raider quarterback Sonny Cumbie has accepted a grad assistant position at his alma mater.
Trinity University: Defensive Assistant Coach of Football (Defensive Line). The position is a full-time, ten month contract staff appointment beginning August 1, 2009. Duties include planning and implementing all activities for the defensive team for practice and games, recruiting, second assignment in the Dept. of Athletics, and teaching an activity class for the Dept. of P.E. Compensation will be approximately $18,000 and includes full benefits. The position reports to Head Coach of Football. Qualifications include baccalaureate degree and 3 years of college coaching experience in the sport of football.
