Grand Valley State: Eric Koehler leaves his post as head coach at Wartburg College to take the offensive coordinator job at Grand Valley State.

LA Avengers: Pat O'Hara accepts the head coaching position with the LA Avengers.  O'Hara previously served 3 seasons as offensive coordinator with the Tampa Bay Storm.

Presbyterian College: BJ Connolly will now coach the defensive line unit.  Connolly previously served as the director of football operations.  Also, Brandon Sarver will serve as the video coordinator.  Sarver has spent the previous five seasons working at Wake Forest University.

Texas State University: Former North Texas defensive line coach Mike Bugar will coach the defensive line at Texas State.  Bugar spent the previous seven years at North Texas.

Wartburg College: Former Wartburg College head coach Rick Willis will again assume the role of head football coach at Wartburg after head coach Eric Koehler suddenly accepted the offensive coordinator job at Grand Valley State.  Willis led Wartburg to a 79-17 record in his previous stint as head coach before becoming the college's athletic director in 2005. 

Western Washington: Chip Shipman has been named tight ends coach.  Shipman previously coached the running backs and tight ends during the past three seasons at Southern Utah University. 


Texas A&M-Commerce: has an opening for a graduate assistant.  Compensation includes 6 hours tuition and a meal plan. No housing or stipend.  Interested should email Jamie Critchlow - .

Illinois State: Head coach Denver Johnson has promoted Stafford Davis from graduate assistant coach to offensive line coach.  Davis is a former Illinois State player from 2002 - 2005.


Bladensburg High School: located in Bladensburg, Maryland (3 miles outside of Washington DC) is currently seeking a defensive coordinator for our varsity program. Numerous teaching positions are available and will start off paying $40,000 and can earn up to $80,000 with relevant experience/education. This position will include a stipend of $3000. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to help build a contender. This is open to teachers and non-teachers and the DC would have to be able to coach the line on both sides of the ball (or LBs).  If you are a looking for a teaching position, you will have to already be certified (meaning taken Praxis and have a degree).  If interested please send your resume to . Southern Oregon University: Southern Oregon University has hired Jon Dolph and Mathew Steinfedt to coach on the offensive side of the ball.  Dolph joins the staff from Central Michigan University.  Steinfeldt joins the staff from Louisburg College.


Chicago Rush: Chicage Rush of the Arena Football League is seeking a coaching/video/player personnel interns for the 2008 off season and the 2009 season.  These are non-paid entry-level positions with no on-field coaching responsibilities.  Mastery of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word is required.  Digital video editing experience and extensive computer knowledge is a plus for the in-season position.  The off-season position will begin ASAP and end in December.  The in-season position will begin in January and end in August.  Interested candidates should e-mail Ryan Leonard @ or Brian Schwartze @

Kentucky Christian University:  is still in search for candidates for the position of Assistant Football Coach (intern position).  This is a five month position, reporting directly to the Head Football Coach and Defensive Coordinator at Kentucky Christian University, a new member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and 2009 member of the Mid-South Conference.  This position pays a $5,000 stipend, a meal plan, and reduced housing.  Experience with video editing equipment is a must; experience with defensive backs is also preferred.  Start date is August 1st.   Any questions regarding this position need to be sent via email to Zack Moore, Defensive Coordinator at

LSU: As FootballScoop first reported 2 weeks ago, LSU graduate assistant coach John Wonziak interviewed for a full-time position at Montana State.  Wonziak has recently accepted the position at Montana State.  Known for the great job he does with special teams, Wonziak was the special teams coordinator at Georgia Southern while Brian Van Gorder led the program.


East Texas Baptist University: is seeking to fill a defensive coaching position for the fall.  Preference will be given to those with collegiate coaching experience in the secondary.  Pay for this limited earnings position will be 14 - 17K with housing provided.  Interested applicants can fax or e-mail resumes with references to:  903/934-8121 or .  NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE!   

Iona College: is seeking a Defensive line coach. This is a restricted earnings position, no housing, no meals. You will coach your own position and have a recruiting area. College of the Canyons: Offensive line coach Jason Youngs has accepted the same position at Warren Central HS in Ohio.  Warren Central HS is one of the premier programs in the state of Ohio.

University of Memphis: The University of Memphis has extended the contract of head coach Tommy West through 2012. 


Jacksonville State University: is seeking to fill the position of Football Video Coordinator.  This is a Graduate Assistant position for which the candidate will receive a scholarship covering 100% tuition, books as well as room and board.  The candidate will also receive a small work study stipend.  The Video Coordinator will oversee all video responsibilities for the JSU football program.  These responsibilities include the daily organization of all video staff, filming all practices and games, capturing all video in the software system, exchanging film with opponents, making video clips per coaches' requests as well as the troubleshooting and maintenance of all video equipment.  The ideal candidate is a college graduate with experience filming and editing college sports.  Experience with LRS Sports Software (or another Sports Editing System) is preferred, but not required.  To be considered for this position, please email or fax a cover letter and resume.  <> and fax (256)782-5666.
