Oregon State: We hear Oregon State the assistant football operations job was filled late last week.   

Philadelphia Eagles: Brian Stewart has accepted a position with the Eagles.  Stewart served as the defensive coordinator last season with the Dallas Cowboys, but was not retained at the end of the season. 

2011 Open Dates: We should have the 2011 Open Dates database on the site late this week.  You can fill out your OPEN DATES, so that we can help you see which programs are searching for games in 2011.

20 head coaching changes took place this off-season in Division-I football.  We thought it was interesting to research the new offensive coordinators and their previous experience as a college offensive coordinator.

Auburn: We hear Defensive GA Demarco McNeil is leaving the Gene Chizik's staff to take a full-time position at Birmingham-Southern.

Birmingham-Southern: Burt Stuart has joined the staff as linebackers coach.  Stuart previously served as an assistant coach at Oak Mountain HS.  Tim Sanders has also been promoted to full-time wide receivers coach. 

Jackson State: We mentioned earlier this week that there was a report that offensive coordinator James Woody may not return.  A Mississippi newspaper is now reporting that Woody will return to the staff, but has been suspened for 5 days without pay.

Elon University: FootballScoop has confirmed that former Allegheny College defensive line coach Charlie Porterfield has accepted the DFO position at Elon.  Porterfield is a former Elon player and team captain.

Oklahoma: FootballScoop would like to congratulate Oklahoma athletic director, Joe Castiglione, on being named Athletic Director of the Year by the Sports Business Awards.  Castiglione accepted the award last night in New York.

West Virginia University Institute of Technology: Montgomery, WV: is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Football Coach.  This position will be a Part Time Paid Stipend of $12,000.00 Candidates must possess a strong work ethic, highly motivated, enthusiastic self starter and understand that office hours do not exist. Wisconsin Lutheran College: Football Coaching Internship - Job Description: 1. Coach a defensive position in an on-field capacity. 2. Assist coordinators with weekly practice and game planning. 3. Coordinate video editing. 4. Recruit an assigned territory. 10 Month position (July 1, 2009 - April 30, 2010) Pay is $750 per month stipend with potential for other benefits. Jackson State: There is a report that offensive coordinator James Woody will not return to the JSU staff. 

Livingstone College: Current Alcorn State athletic director, Darren Hamilton, will take over the AD position at Livingstone late this summer.

Missouri State: Louisville assistant athletic director Kyle Moats has accepted the AD position at Missouri State.

Boston College: We hear Boston College has an assistant recruiting coordinator job open.

Brockport: We hear 3 interviews will take place for the open position at Brockport.  No more resumes are being taken.

Allegheny College: a rigorous selective liberal arts college and NCAA Division 3 member of the North Coast Athletic Conference invites applications for the position of Assistant Football Coach (defensive line).  This is a ten-month, intern position with a competitive salary.  Bachelor's degree required; Masters Degree preferred. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist the head coach with the organization and direction of the defensive line. Specific responsibilities include identification and on the road recruitment of athletically and academically qualified student-athletes; regular practice sessions and game preparation; and assisting with the management of equipment, team travel, program budgets, public/alumni relations and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. The successful candidate must possess and will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, good work ethic and self-motivation, the ability and willingness to be a positive role model, department member and representative of the College. Two years of coaching experience preferred.  Additional duty such as event management, intramural or club sport supervision will be assigned by Athletic Director. Allegheny College is a Carnegie I national liberal arts college that ranks among the top 7% of all institutions in the production of future Ph.D.'s, business leaders and other professionals.  The College is located in Northwest Pennsylvania, north of Pittsburgh.  Its picturesque location is ideal for outdoor recreation, with eight freshwater lakes, ski areas and recreational opportunities all within easy reach.
