Minnesota: We hear there is a quality control job open at Minnesota.

Alcorn State: Head coach Earnest Collins Jr. is participating in an internship with the Minnesota Vikings for the next 2 weeks.

Indiana State: Morgan Turner, the son of Chicago Bears OC Ron Turner, has joined the staff as quarterbacks coach. 

LA Tech: Our sources have just informed us that fomer Tyler JC (TX) volunteer assistant Schirra Fields has accepted a football intern position on Derek Dooley's staff at LA Tech.  Fields is a former LSU wide receiver.

Charlotte: University officials are still hoping to compete in football during the 2013 season.  Progress is being made.  We hear several D1 assistants are already networking & aligning themselves for this head coaching position.
Iowa State and Oregon State: assistant DFO news

Maine: Defensive backs / special teams coordinator Joe Rossi has been promoted to defensive coordinator.  Running backs coach Kevin Cahill will assume the special teams coordinator position in addition to coaching the running backs.

St. Augustine: We hear St. Augustine has hired former Johnson C. Smith head coach Daryl McNeil as the new running backs coach.  McNeil will also assist with the special teams.

Middlebury College: is seeking an Assistant Football Coach to assist the head coach in all phases of the football program including coaching your own position, scouting, recruiting, and other duties as assigned. Required skills: • A demonstrated ability to coach at the collegiate level. • A thorough and demonstrated knowledge of coaching football. • The ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with prospective student-athletes. The candidate must have the ability to support the mission of academic and athletic excellence at Middlebury College. This is a 6 month entry-level, hourly, non-exempt, position that will qualify for overtime pay. The pay range is $11.00 - $13.00 per hour. The search will be held open until the position is filled. University of Sioux Falls: This part-time position begins August 1st, 2009 and runs through December 31st, 2009.   Responsibilities within the football staff include: coaching defensive line group, identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes, film breakdown and analysis, practice planning, mentoring and supporting students, and other duties assigned by the head coach. Tiffin University: seeks a Defensive Graduate Assistant for the Football program. Responsibilities include working on the Defensive side of the ball, communication to and from the Football staff and the Administration of the University and NCAA.  The Coach is a contact for all recruits in his area, and is involved with the implementation of all Football programs duties as directed by the Defensive Coordinator or Head Coach, including (but not limited to) recruiting and retention of student athletes, practice and game preparation, fund-raising, community service, opponent breakdowns, and inputting video, and strict adherence to NCAA, and University rules. Candidates must be accepted into a Graduate Program at Tiffin University. A background on the Defensive Line is preferred. Proficiency in office computer programs required. Candidate must also have strong communication, and interpersonal skills; a record of integrity and leadership; a willingness; to advance the goals of the Tiffin University Department of Athletics, including fund raising and a commitment to the academic success and graduation of student-athletes. Montana Tech: Rich Mayson has been hired to coach the wide receivers.  Mayson previously served on the staff at Northwest Missouri State.

Fort Hayes State: Former North Dakota assistant Kyle Nystrom has accepted the defensive coordinator job.  Nystrom will also coach the safeties.

Cornell College: Former Cornell College player Adam Eichhorn has joined the staff as the new defensive cooridnator. 

Northwestern: Our sources tell us that Cody Cejda has joined the Northwestern staff under head coach Pat Fitzgerald as the new coordinator of player development and personnel.

Rochester Community and Technical College: FootballScoop has just learned that John Schaekel has been hired as the new defensive coordinator / defensive backs coach.

Winona State: We hear New Berlin Eisenhower (Wisconsin) offensive coordinator Mike Budziszewski accepted the offensive GA position at Winona State.

Eastern Illinois: Former Eureka College coach Matt Smiley is the new special teams coach at Eastern Illinois.  Before coach at Eureka, Smiley served as the special teams coordinator at Dartmouth.

Indiana State: FootballScoop learned last night that former Cincinnati and Notre Dame graduate assistant, Jesse Minter, has accepted the running backs job at Indiana State.

University of San Diego: FootballScoop has confirmed that offensive coordinator Todd Washington is taking part in the San Diego Chargers OTA internship program that will continue through part of training camp.

South Alabama: We hear the candidates for the athletic director position at South Alabama include Southeastern LA athletic director Joel Erdmann, Birmingham-Southern athletic director Joe Dean Jr., and Samford associate athletic director Jay Roberson.

Tennessee: We have learned that off-the-field graduate assistant Ryan Bollinger is now serving in the role of assistant to the head coach.

Tuesday June 2, 2009 (Update 2)

Memphis: FootballScoop has learned that head coach Tommy West has just hired ULM assistant John Wozniak to fill the Tigers' last full-time position.  Wozniak coached last season at Montana State and had joined the ULM staff after the season as the new wide receivers coach.  He will now make the move to Memphis.

South Alabama: AD Joe Gottfied will retire on August 1st.
