Auburn: ESPN is reporting that TCU head coach Gary Patterson will interview at Auburn and Tulsa head coach Todd Graham has interviewed.  FootballScoop believes that in order for Auburn to compete at the level they have competed at over the last decade under Tommy Tuberville, the Tigers need to hire a head coach who will continue to do a great job recruiting in the state of Florida.  Recruiting is getting tougher in the state of Alabama because of Nick Saban and the Tigers might have a more difficult time luring Nashville, TN prospects to the Plains with Lane Kiffen.

Concord University: We hear Mike Kellar has been named head coach at Concord University (WV).  Kellar previously served as the offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach at California University (PA).

Gustavus Adolphus College: Peter Haugen has been named head football coach.  Haugen previously served the last 15 years as head coach at Minneapolis Washburn High School.

New Mexico State: It appears Terry Bowden and former Oklahoma State head coach Bob Simmons have expressed interest in the job.  We hear that New Mexico State officials spoke on the phone with Pittsburgh Steelers assistant Kirby Wilson, but that Wilson is not a serious candidate.

Northwestern State: Sources tell FootballScoop Northwestern State could be down to Abilene Christian head coach Chris Thomsen, Northwestern State defensive coordinator Brad Laird, and Arkansas State defensive coordinator Kevin Corless.

Texas A&M - Commerce: We hear the interim head coach has a legitimate chance to get the head coaching job.

Tennessee: Sources tell us that Lane Kiffin is waiting on at least 2 NFL coaches and 1 NFL front-office guy to join the staff in Knoxville.

Tulane: We hear Rocky Long will not be joining the Tulane staff as defensive coordinator.

Miami (OH): Here's the deal.  We hear the candidates have been narrowed down to the following: Curt Mallory (Illinois), Don Treadwell (Michigan State), Randy Fichtner (Pittsburgh Steelers), Mitch Browning (Syracuse), and John Peterson (Ohio State).  We heard Peterson was one of the first to speak with Miami representatives.  Detroit Lions quarterbacks coach, Scott Loeffler, is still in it.  Sources tell FootballScoop that Miami (OH) boosters are quite upset that New Orleans Saints assistant Aaron Kromer is not a legitimate candidate as of today.

Rutgers: Athletic director Robert Mulcahy has been dismissed by the university president.

AstroTurf: In a first-of-its-kind partnership, Reebok and GeneralSports Venue, the exclusive U.S. licensee of the AstroTurf® brand of synthetic sports turf products, announce that they are joining forces to study the interaction between athletic footwear and field surfaces for athletes ranging from professionals to amateurs.
