Northwestern State: Our sources tell us that Central Arkansas offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Todd Cooley will accept the offensive coordinator job at Northwestern State.

Penn: We hear Rhode Island assistant Mark Fabish has accepted the tight ends job at Penn.  Our sources also tell us that Penn is set to promote Jon McLaughline to offensive coordinator / offensive line coach.

Pittsburgh: Our sources tell us head coach Dave Wannstedt has offered the offensive coordinator job to Frank Cignetti Jr.  It appears Cignetti will accept the position.

Cleveland Browns: Our sources tell us Eric Mangini could bring Noel Mazzone to the Browns as wide receivers coach.

Hawaii: We hear Gordie Shaw is leaving South Dakota to join the Hawaii staff as offensive line coach.  Our sources tell us South Dakota will promote quarterbacks coach Wesley Beschorner to offensive coordinator.

Kansas City Chiefs: We hear Chan Gailey will return to the Chiefs staff.  Former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gary Gibbs will also join the staff.

Maryland: FootballScoop has learned that Richmond special teams coordinator / running backs coach Charlie Bankins will accept the special teams coordinator / tight ends job at Maryland.

Newport News Apprentice: is no longer accepting resumes for the offensive line job.

New Hampshire: Our sources tell us that Oregon defensive graduate assistant Matt Dawson has accepted the linebackers job at New Hampshire.

North Carolina: Our sources tell us South Florida secondary coach Troy Douglas will accept a position on Butch Davis' staff at UNC.

Pittsburgh: We hear head coach Dave Wannstedt is trying to lure Cal offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti to become the Pittsburgh offensive coordinator.  Cignetti is originally from Pittsburgh.

South Florida: We hear former Kansas Sate offensive coordinator Ron Hudson has interview with head coach Jim Leavitt.  We hear the interview was for the wide receivers job.

Virginia: Don't be surprised if Romeo Crennel gets involved with the UVA defensive coordinator job.

Akron: As we reported earlier, Walt Harris has accepted the quarterbacks / passing game coordinator position at Akron.

Iowa State: University of South Florida defensive coordinator Wally Burnham is leaving to accept the same position at Iowa State.

Minnesota: Houston Texans special teams assistant Richard Hightower is joining the Minnesota staff under Tim Brewster as wide receivers coach. 

Rutgers: We hear offensive coordinator John McNulty has talked with the Arizona Cardinals regarding the open wide receivers job.

Harvard: We hear Tony Reno has joined the staff as linebackers / special teams coordinator.  Reno previously served on the staff at Yale, where he served as assistant head coach / defensive backs coach.

Oregon: Peter Sirmon has joined the staff as a graduate assistant. 


Carroll University (WI): has an opening for a Graduate Assistant position.  In the past the position has been Wide Receivers, however candidates from all positional backgrounds are encouraged to apply.  This position will include coaching a position, recruiting your own area, and various administrative duties.  The position will also consist of a strength and conditioning component; special consideration given to those with certification.  This is an 11-month position and benefits consist of: monthly stipend ($1,000), full tuition, and discounted housing.  Please email cover letter, resume, and references to <This email address is being protected from spambots.
