Wake Forest (Defensive Staff): Wake Forest traveled to Florida State and proceeded to limit the Seminoles to 220 total yards while forcing 7 turnovers.  The Florida State offense gained less than 10 yards on 12 different possessions.  Wake Forest head coach Jim Grobe commented after the 12-3 win, "'I don't know if we've ever played a better defensive game as far as forcing turnovers, making things happen.''

Brad Lambert  (Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers)
Ray McCartney (Defensive Tackles / Recruiting Coordinator)
   Tim Billings  (Defensive Backs)
   Keith Henry (Defensive Ends)
   Brad White (Defensive Graduate Assistant)
Prairie View A&M (Defensive Staff):  For the first time since 1964, the Prairie View Panthers are 3-0.  Head coach Henry Frazier's defense was dominant in the 49-15 win on the road over Mississippi Valley State.  The Panther's defense limited MVSU to only 186 total yards, recorded 7 sacks, and forced 4 turnovers.  How about these stats: Prairie View A&M is #1 in the nation in total defense, 3rd in rushing defense, 3rd in passing defense, and 4th in sacks.  This defensive staff is certainly worthy of recognition.

   Heishma Northern  (Defensive Coordinator)
   Miles Brandon  (Defensive Line)
   John Pearce  (Linebackers)
   Antone Sewell  (Defensive Backs)
   Van Sallier  (Defensive GA)
   Jullian Keggins  (Defensive GA)
Minnesota (Offensive Staff): In the Golden Gophers 37-3 win over Florida Atlantic, the Minnesota offense amassed 441 total yards and only 1 turnover.  Only one year ago, the Minnesota offense recorded 7 turnovers against the same Florida Atlantic team.  Furthermore, the Gophers finished 19-24 passing and only reached 3rd down a total of 7 times in the game.  Offensive Coordinator Mike Dunbar is leading a unit that has only 2 turnovers on the entire season.

Mike Dunbar  (Offensive Coordinator / Asst. Head Coach)
   Thomas Hammock (Running Backs)
   Derek Lewis (Tight Ends)
   George McDonald (Wide Receivers)
   Phil Meyer (Offensive Line)
   Jim Jackson (Offensive Graduate Assistant)
   Greg Roskos (Offensive Quality Control)
Ball State (Offensive Staff): Earlier this summer, FootballScoop highlighted Ball State offensive coordinator Stan Parrish.  Read our write-up http://www.footballscoop.com/?p=219 .  Not surprisingly, the Cardinals are 4-0 after a 42-20 road victory over Indiana.  Overcoming a mid-game career ending injury to the nation's leading receiver, Dante Love, the Cardinals earned their first victory over a BCS conference school in twenty years.  Parrish's offense racked up 224 rushing yards and 239 passing yards.  Love suffered a cervical spine fracture and spinal cord injury which required surgery to stabilize the fracture. He is currently moving all four extremities.

Stan Parrish (Offensive Coordinator / Quarterbacks)
   Eddie Faulkner (Running Backs)
Darrell Funk (Offensive Guards and Centers)
Jeff Hecklinski (Wide Receivers / Recruiting Coordinator)
John Powers (Offensive tackles / tight ends)
   Brad Wilson (Offensive Graduate Assistant)

Georgia (Offensive Staff): Let's not overlook the great job achieved by the Georgia offensive staff.  The Bulldogs traveled to Arizona State and quite frankly whooped the Sun Devils.  The Bulldogs racked up 461 yards including 149 rushing yards from Knowshon Moreno.  Most importantly, the Bulldogs allowed only 1 sack and had 0 turnovers.

Mike Bobo (Offensive Coordinator / Quarterbacks)
   Tony Ball  (Running Backs)
   Stacy Searles (Offensive Line)
   John Lilly (Tight Ends)
   John Eason (Wide Receivers)
Nebraska-Kearney: In the 37-0 win over Adams State, the Nebraska-Keaney defense allowed only 50 total yards on the day.  UNK recorded 8 sacks and limited Adams State to -19 rushing yards, the fewest a UNK defense has allowed since 2000.  The combination of 3-4 and 4-2-5 fronts created confusion for the Adams State offense and was much to the delight of UNK head coach Darrell Morriss and defensive coordinator Bob Crocker.

Bob Crocker (Defensive Coordinator / Defensive Backs)
   Jesse Williams (Defensive Line)
   Matt Martin (Outside Linebackers)
Gino Polostri (Inside Linebackers / GA)
Other Game Changing Coaches: Northern Arizona (Offensive Staff), Tennessee State (Offensive Staff), Lake Forest College (Defensive Staff)

University of Washington: Announced the official hiring of Scott Woodward as the new Director of Athletics.  Woodward worked at his alma mater, LSU, as the director of external affairs in the chancellor's office from 2000-2004.  He served as the liason from the chancellor's office to the LSU athletic department during Nick Saban's tenure as head coach.  Woodward will be interested in Will Muschamp (Texas DC) and/or Derek Dooley (La Teach head coach) if the Washington job becomes available.  Both Muschamp and Dooley served under Nick Saban in Baton Rouge.
