Edmonton Eskimos: We hear Stacey Hairston will join the staff as defensive backs coach.  Hairston previously served as defensive coordinator at Ohio Northern University.

Oakland Raiders: Veteran coach Paul Hackett will coach the quarterbacks.

Philadelphia Eagles: Our sources tell us the Eagles will promote offensive quality control coach James Urban to quarterbacks coach.  As we reported earlier, Doug Pedersen is joining the staff, likely to fill Urban's previous role.

St. Louis Rams: NY Giants safeties coach Dave Merritt has joined the Rams' staff.


Assumption College: Offensive Assistant - located in Worcester, Massachusetts, an NCAA Division II institution competing in the Northeast-10. The position will be responsible for coaching an offensive skill position (quarterbacks preferred). The position will also require on and off campus recruiting and other duties assigned by the head coach. This is a 10-month position which will pay $10,000; No Housing Included. Buffalo Bills: Former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Bob Sanders has been hired as defensive line coach.

Cal: We hear former Cleveland Browns assistant Steve Marshall has been hired as offensive line coach.

Houston Texans: Matt LaFleur has been named offensive assistant.  Perry Carter has been promoted to defensive assistant.  Robert Saleh has been promoted to assistant linebackers.  Ray Rhoads now holds the title senior defensive assistant.

Nebraska-Kearney: Our sources tell us that UNK has hired former Colorado assistant Andy Avalos has defensive line coach.  

Johnson C. Smith: Steven Aycock has accepted the head coaching position.  Aycock has been at Johnson C. Smith the last 5 years in various roles on the staff.

New York Jets: Bob Sutton will remain on the staff as senior defensive assistant.

Philadelphia Eagles: Our sources tell us that defensive line coach Pete Jenkins will coach in the Pro Bowl and then announce he is retiring.

Purdue: Our sources tell us former Purdue player Nick Cavallo will serve as a graduate assistant under head coach Danny Hope.

San Francisco 49ers: Former NY Jets running backs coach Jimmy Raye has been hired as the offensive coordinator.

St. Louis Rams: Mike Williams of the San Francisco 49ers has been hired as the new director of pro personnel.  Andre Curtis has been hired as a defensive assistant.

Weber State: Former Utah and NFL player Andre Dyson will coach the cornerbacks.

Boise State: Boise State doesn't plan to rework Chris Petersen's contract this winter.  Petersen is entering his 3rd year in a 5-year contract.

Florida State: We hear FSU and head coach Bobby Bowden have reached an agreement on a one-year contract.

North Greenville University: We hear the university is still searching for the right candidate to fill the head coaching position.

Oakland Raiders: We hear the Raiders will interview former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator John Marshall for thier defensive coordinator job. 

San Francisco 49ers: We hear Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson will interview for the offensive coordinator position for a 2nd time. 

Stanford: Stanford has announced that recently hired assistant coach Greg Roman will now coach the tight ends and tackles.  Assistant coach Tim Drevno will coach the offensive line.

Wagner College: Wagner is not taking any more applications for the DFO position or defensive GA position.


ASA Institute: Offensive Coordinator- located in Brooklyn,NY, an NJCAA Division 1 institution will be competing in its first year of football in Fall '09 is seeking applicants for the offensive coordinator position. Qualified applicants should have college coaching experience on the offensive side of the ball. There will be other duties besides coaching and recruiting assigned by the Head Coach that relate directly to the football program. This is a Full Time Position with a salary of 50k per year. Boston College: Special teams coordinator Don Yanosky has resigned.

Detroit Lions: We hear the Lions have hired Sam Gash (running backs), Shawn Jefferson (wide receivers), George Yarno (former assistant OL with Bucs), and Matt Burke. 

Eastern Oregon: Legi Suiaunoa has been named defensive coordinator.  Suiaunoa previously served on the Western Washington staff.  Former defensive coordinator Eti Ena has joined the Idaho staff.

Hofstra: Rich Nagy has been hired as defensive coordinator.  Nagy previously served as defensive coordinator at Murray State.

Miami (OH): FootballScoop has confirmed that McNeese State defensive backs coach Lance Guidry has joined Mike Haywood's staff.

North Dakota State: Southern Illinois offensive line coach Scott Fuchs has joined the NDSU staff as offensive line coach.

Philadelphia Eagles: We hear Doug Pederson will return to Philadelphia as "offensive assistant."  Pederson has served as the head football coach at Calvary Baptist HS in Louisiana.  Our sources tell us the special teams coordinator Rory Segrest could take over the defensive line.  Former Cleveland Browns special teams coordinator Ted Daisher is expected to join the Eagles staff.  We hear defensive line coach Pete Jenkins may retire.

South Carolina: We hear special teams coordinator Ray Rychleski has accepted a position with the Indianapolis Colts.  Our sources tell us Spurrier has hired Jeep Hunter to coach the tight ends.  Hunter last served as the tight ends coach under Chan Gailey at Georgia Tech.  It is likely that South Carolina assistant Shane Beamer will take over as special teams coordinator.

Alcorn State: It's official.  Alcorn State has dismissed head football coach Ernest Jones for "malfeasance and contumacious conduct."

Ball State: Former Miami (OH) defensive coordinator Jay Hood has accepted the linebackers job at Ball State.

New England Patriots: ESPN analyst and former Titan's GM Floyd Reese has been named senior football advisor. 

Stanford: Greg Roman has been hired as offensive line coach.  Roman was the assistant offensive line coach with the Baltimore Ravens in 2006 and 2007.


University of Mary: Defensive Graduate Assistant - located in Bismarck, North Dakota, an NCAA Division II institution competing in the Northern Sun Conference is currently seeking applicants for a defensive graduate assistant coaching position.  While experience in the secondary is preferable, all qualified applicants will be considered. Education is the primary program for graduate assistants at UMary, yet other programs are also available. In addition to the cost of tuition, the position pays a moderate stipend.
