The "update" to the FootballScoop iPhone App is now available. Update is free for those that have previously purchased the app. On iPads we recommend using Safari to view the site.

Jacksonville State (FCS - AL): Head coach Jack Crowe has been released. Crowe had two years remaining on his contract. "National search" to begin immediately.

Utah State: Gary Andersen has announced (as we've been telling you guys) that he isn't leaving Utah State.

Georgia State: We have learned that Indiana State head coach Trent Miles has accpeted the Georgia State head coaching position. Georgia State will compete in FBS this season. Miles had at least two options on the table; but in the end chose Georgia State. Look for defensive coordinator Jesse Minter to join Miles.

Minnesota State-Mankato: The case against Todd Hoffner has been dismissed.

Purdue: A report out of Cincinnati this afternoon stated that Butch Jones will be named Purdue's head coach as early as Sunday. Our sources call this report "premature". We do expect Jones to meet with Purdue after Cincinnati finishes their season and we believe it is possible that he will be the new head coach; but don't believe that has been agreed to at this time.

Arkansas: Possibly the least surprising statement we've heard in a long time, Steve Sarkisian just said he's had "zero contact" with Arkansas.

Tennessee: For your afternoon reading pleasure...here's a quick read from GoVolsExtra in which Gruden's agent says the first time he spoke with Tennessee AD Dave Hart was this morning and that he told Hart, "Thank you but Jon has made it clear he's committed to ESPN."

Marshall: Tom Bradley informs us that he will not be accepting the defensive coordinator postion at Marhsall.

Morgan State: We are told the athletic director is meeting with the team today today at 4. Change at the top is coming.

Tennessee: Jimmy Hyams is reporting that Jon Gruden has informed Tennessee that he is no longer interested in their head coaching position.
