North Dakota State University: Strength & Conditioning Department is actively seeking interested students to fulfill internship positions within our program for summer, fall and spring. Interns can expect to gain valuable, hands on experience in areas such as program design, exercise instruction, plyometric, speed and agility techniques, conditioning, facility and athlete management. Internship responsibilities will vary and will include various duties within the NDSU Strength & Conditioning Department. Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. The quality of the interns experience is directly related to the effort and commitment that is put forth. Student's who ask questions, get involved and make an effort to go above and beyond will be rewarded with a successful experience. Requirements: Graduate or undergraduate students working towards a degree in exercise science or a related field. Must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Previous weight room or athletic experience preferred. Compensation: Academic credit only, this is an unpaid internship. Baylor: We hear Valdosta State grad assistant Andrew Althoff has accepted an assistant position on the staff at Baylor University.
Harvard: Former Iowa assistant James Frazier has accepted the director of strength & conditioning job at Harvard.
Valdosta State University: is seeking applicants for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This individuals report directly to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting with the supervision of eleven sports. Ensure safe and effective lifting techniques. Demonstrate basic knowledge in all areas of the strength and field. Attend to the everyday needs of facility maintenance and operations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in exercise science or related field. At least one year experience in an intercollegiate strength and conditioning program, U.S.A.W., C.S.C.S. or S.C.C.C. certification preferred.
