The strength and conditioning staff at the University of Richmond are holding the 2nd annual Central Virginia Sport Performance Seminar on April 17th, 18th and 19th. Seattle University: is seeking applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: assist head strength and conditioning coach in all aspects of developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for 16 intercollegiate athletic teams. Work with both men's and women's sports as assigned by head strength and conditioning coach. Provide proper techniques associated with strength and speed development, and attend to the daily maintenance of the training facility. All responsibilities must be in compliance with institutional and NCAA rules and regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field. At least one year experience coaching in a collegiate strength and conditioning program, Adult CPR certification and certified or working to be certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association(NSCA) or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCC). Candidate must have a strong desire to become strength and conditioning coach. Position offer contingent upon admission into graduate program at Seattle University. Graduates are encouraged to purse a Master of Sports Administration and Leadership. University of Louisville: Department of Football Athlete Development is currently accepting applications for full-time strength and conditioning interns during the 2009/2010 academic semesters. Successful candidates will assist with the implementation of strength training, conditioning, speed/agility, flexibility and recovery workouts for the Louisville Cardinals' football team. Additional responsibilities will include weight room supervision, daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment, successful completion of the internship academic curriculum and any other duties assigned by the Athlete Development staff. Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Ideal candidates should be enrolled in an Exercise Science undergraduate/graduate program and should be certified in CPR/AED/1st Aid and be working towards certification from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSSCa, USAW, ACSM, or NASM. Previous internship experience in strength and conditioning and basic knowledge of the Tier System are strongly encouraged. Successful applicants will receive course credit towards graduation (if applicable) and valuable Division-I/Big East football strength and conditioning experience. No monetary compensation is provided. Starting dates for the internships are as followed: Summer 2009- May 25th and Fall 2009- August 1st and Winter/Spring 2010- January 4th.
