Eastern Michigan University: Sports Performance is currently accepting applications for full-time strength and conditioning interns for the spring semester of 2011. Duties will include: Assisting the Sports Performance staff with all aspects of the strength and conditioning program for all sports as well as successfully completing an internship academic curriculum. Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Ideal candidates should be enrolled in an Exercise Science undergraduate/graduate program and should be certified in CPR/AED/1st Aid and be working towards certification from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSSCa, USAW, ACSM, or NASM. Previous internship experience in strength and conditioning and basic knowledge of the Tier System is strongly encouraged. Successful applicants will receive course credit towards graduation (if applicable) and valuable Division-I/Mid-American strength and conditioning experience. No monetary compensation is provided. Starting dates for the internships are as followed: Spring 2011 - Jan 3rd – April 8th. Saint Franics University: in Loretto, PA is now accepting applications for Volunteer Internship positions for the upcoming Spring 2011 semester. Individuals who are pursuing a degree in an exercise related field (exercise science, kineseology etc)  and who have the desire to work in the field of collegiate strength and conditioning are encouraged to apply. Florida Atlantic University: a NCAA Division 1 institution and member of the Sun Belt Conference invites those interested in pursuing a career in Strength and Conditioning to apply for a spring semester internship with the Strength and Conditioning Department. Potential interns will acquire valuable experience and knowledge while being a positive asset to FAU and its student-athletes.  Upon successful completion of this internship, one should posses and demonstrate the required abilities to advance in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength training, conditioning and speed programs designed for 17 varsity teams, weight room upkeep, equipment maintenance and other duties assigned by the full time staff members. There will be an opportunity to have responsibility over 1 or more sports teams TBD by your comprehension, prior experience, knowledge and skill level. Qualifications: Potential interns must be self motivated and possess a strong interest in becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach.  Candidates should have prior weight room experience via previous coaching experience and/or a background as a competitive athlete. Sacramento State: Spring 2011 Volunteer Internship: California State University, Sacramento, an NCAA Division I (FCS Football) institution is accepting applications for Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Interns for Spring Semester 2011.  Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength, speed, agility, flexibility and conditioning programs; facility maintenance and upkeep; other duties assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. Applicants must have a strong work ethic, be coachable and dependable, have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and be CPR/First Aid certified. Preferred qualifications include: pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field; working towards NSCA-CSCS, SCCC, and/or USAW certifications. This is a Non Paid/Volunteer position. Georgia Tech: The Department of Strength & Conditioning has two openings for a Non-Compensated/Volunteer Internship for the Spring 2011 Semester. The position will primarily be working with Football.
