South Dakota State University: Brookings South Dakota. South Dakota State University, is accepting applications for a qualified, highly motivated Graduate Assistant in Strength and Conditioning.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in design and implementation of Strength & Conditioning programs for assigned sports. Provide proper instruction for safe and effective lifting techniques and equipment usage. Supervising weight room day-to-day activities and conduct periodic performance & strength testing.   Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in sports sciences, CPR certification and certified or working to be certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association(NSCA) or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCC).  In order to be awarded the position the candidate must be admitted to graduate school at South Dakota State University.  Compensation includes 2/3 tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. Previous strength coaching experience preferred.  Previous athletic experience preferred.  Experience with the Olympic lifts preferred.  Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access strongly recommended. Consideration will be given to individuals who possess strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with integrity. The position will begin at the end of May 2011. University of Rhode Island: Strength and Conditioning Internship for Spring Semester 2011. Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength, speed, agility, flexibility and conditioning programs for 17 sports; facility maintenance and upkeep; program design; educational assignments; and other duties assigned by the strength and conditioning staff.  Applicants must be coachable,enthusiastic, confident in exercise technique, working towards and/or have a NSCA certification, commit to a minimum 20 hours a week, and have experience working with football. The University of South Florida: a member of the Big East Conference, is currently seeking a qualified candidateposition of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.  Responsibilities include assisting with Football, and designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for Baseball, and Men’s & Women’s Track and Field programs.  This position reports to Ron McKeefery, M.A. CSCS, SCCC, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and includes additional duties as assigned.  Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and two years strength and conditioning experience, NSCA CSCS or CSCCA certification and current First Aid/CPR certification. Baylor:  Baylor University Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Position.  GA responsibilities include: Design and implement training protocols for designated teams. Ability to work, write, speak and communicate effectively with staff, administrators and sport coaches. Ability to teach and execute proper technique of lifts and drills.  Coordinate, evaluate, compile and communicate performance targets. Delegation of daily administrative and maintenance items to interns. Completion of various educational assignments during the assistantship.  Graduate Assistant requirements include: Bachelor’s degree; Exercise Science or related field preferred. Experience in an NCAA four year college or university weight room working with a variety of teams. Possession of the following personality traits; strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm. Graduate Assistant preferred qualifications include: CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification and background as a competitive collegiate athlete. North Texas: FootballScoop has just learned that South Florida associate head strength coach Frank Wintrich has accepted the head strength position at North Texas under Dan McCarney.

Georgia: Marc Weiszer now reports that Joe Tereshinski will become the head strength coach and John Kasey will serve as an assistant.

Wyoming: We hear there is an assistant strength position open at Wyoming.

Georgia: We have learned the head strength coach Dave Van Halenger has been reassigned as administrative assistant to the head coach.

Sacramento State: Paid Strength and Conditioning Internship for Spring Semester 2011. Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength, speed, agility, flexibility and conditioning programs for 15 sports; facility maintenance and upkeep; other duties assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. Applicants must be coachable, NSCA-CSCS and CPR/First Aid certified, commit to a minimum 30 hours a week, and have experience working with or have played college football.
