North Texas: Our sources tell us New York Jets strength intern Dave Trevino accepted an assistant strength position at North Texas.  He replaces Rick Lefebvre, who took the head strength job at Wisconsin-Green Bay.

University of Wisconsin-Green Bay: Strength and Conditioning Department is looking to fill Internship positions for the Fall 2011 semester.  The responsibilities for this internship position include:  1.) Assist coaches in the training of all Green Bay student-athletes.  2.) Perform daily maintenance of weight room and equipment.  3.) Educational projects will be assigned.  Preferred qualifications for this position include: completed or currently pursuing Master’s Degree in Exercise Science; prior experience in strength and conditioning setting; CSCS, CSCCa, USAW and/or CPR certification is recommended.  All applicants must have a strong aspiration to become a full-time strength and conditioning coach.  This is an unpaid position.  Please e-mail cover letter, resume and three references to Rick Lefebvre, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.

UW-La Crosse: Carnegie Mellon University strength coach Kevin Schultz is the new director of sports performance job at UW-La Cross.

University of Wisconsin – Whitewater:  Strength & Conditioning Internship for 2011-12 Academic year (Sept. – May).  This is a paid internship which includes a $5000 stipend.  Duties:  Assist S & C coordinator with all aspects of training for all varsity sports.  Provide leadership and instruction in the athletic development of student athletes to include skill analysis, teach proper technique and adapt workouts to match each sports specific need.   Provide encouragement, motivate, and give feedback to student athletes to ensure maximum development of athletic potential.  Assist with area high school and community training.  Job Requirements:  Strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. Wichita State University: invites applications for a graduate assistant opportunity with the Strength and Conditioning Department from August 1, 2011 through the month of May, 2012.  The successful candidate will report to the Associate Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning and the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Duties include: Design, implementation and supervision of strength, speed, and conditioning programs for Men’s and Women’s Track and Field; assisting with the development and implementation of strength training programs for 11 teams; assisting with the creation and direction of sport-specific speed, quickness and agility workouts; assisting sport coaches with recruiting; assisting with the hiring and supervising of student interns; weight room supervision; weight room upkeep; equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned.  Successful applicants should have prior strength and conditioning experience and a desire to continue in the field of strength and conditioning for enhanced sport performance. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field. At least two years of experience coaching in a collegiate strength and conditioning program, Adult CPR certification and certified in one of the following organizations: National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC). The Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach must be enrolled or accepted in the graduate school at Wichita State University.
