University of South Florida: Strength and Conditioning Intern. USF is a proud member of the Big East conference and has immediate openings for Winter 2008 intern positions. The intern positions begin January 11 and extend through May 14. This is an unpaid position. The candidate will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, gear, internship manual, and earned recommendation toward further success as a Strength & Conditioning Coach. The successful candidates will be required to schedule and maintain a minimum of 15-30 hours per week with the Strength and Conditioning Department. The daily responsibilities will include: 1. Assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs; for assigned teams. 2. Teaching student athletes proper lifting techniques and equipment use. 3. Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities. 4. Participation in weekly projects and assignments throughout the internship program. Successful applicants should have a strong work ethic and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. The responsibilities for this internship position include: 1.) Assist coaches in the training of all UNT athletes. 2.) Perform daily maintenance of weight room and equipment. 3.) Educational projects will be given weekly. Preferred qualifications for this position include: completed or currently pursuing Master's Degree in Exercise Science; prior experience in strength and conditioning setting; and playing experience in collegiate athletics. CSCS, CSCCa, USAW and/or CPR certification is recommended. All applicants must have a strong aspiration to become a full-time strength and conditioning coach. No monetary compensation will be given.
