University of Iowa:  Job Description:Assist the Olympic strength and conditioning staff in all day-to-day operations of the University of Iowa varsity weight rooms. Duties will include but are not limited to; assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for 23 varsity sports, set up, and breakdown of training equipment and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in exercise science or a related field. Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW. This is an unpaid position. Merrimack College: Merrimack College is seeking applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Intern in the Department of Athletics for the spring of 2012.  Merrimack is a Catholic Institution with more than 2,000 students, and is a member of NCAA Division I Hockey East and also of the NCAA Division II Northeast-10 conference. Responsibilities for candidates to the position will entitle assisting in implementation of Strength and Conditioning program in all aspects for all 22 intercollegiate sports.  Responsibilities will include: apply, demonstrate, and instruct exercise, speed and conditioning technique, program design, performance testing, and weight room maintenance.  Candidates are required to be working toward a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, also pursuing relevant certifications.  Applications will be accepted year round to fill 1 internship position for each of the semesters and also the summer. Southern Illinois University: A Division I institution and member of the Missouri Valley Conference/Gateway Conference IAA, has an opening for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.  This position will be responsible for the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams.  The applicant will teach proper lifting techniques and lifting progression.  Additional duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach will be expected. Notes: Monthly stipend of 1,426 with full tuition waiver. Louisville: Olympic sports internship - Spring 2012. The Louisville Sports Performance (LSP) program services all 21 teams (no football or men’s basketball), including over 550 student-athletes. LSP is now accepting applications for Sports Performance Graduate Student Interns for Spring 2012. South Alabama: The University of South Alabama Department of Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for 5 full-time intern positions for the spring semester. Successful candidates can expect to work full time for the duration of the 16-week internship starting Jan. 11th. Ball State: Ball State Football Strength and Conditioning has openings for 2 interns for the 2012 Spring Semester. The dates for the semester are January 17th-April 28th.  This is an unpaid internship.  These individuals will get to coach at the Division 1 level while earning credit hours toward their CSCCa certification. There is a weekly work requirement of 30 hours.  Applicants must have their CPR and First Aid certification upon arrival, and must be working toward their CSCS, USAW, and/or their CSCCa certification.  Resumes will be collected until October 28th.
