Arizona State University: Sports Performance Internship. Job Description: Assist the sports performance staff in the day-to-day operations of the Arizona State University varsity weight rooms. Duties will include but are not limited to; assist the sports performance staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for 21 varsity sports, instruct safe and proper execution of all facets of sports performance, and assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility.  Qualifications: Pursuing Bachelors or Masters degree in exercise science or a related field.  Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW. Compensation: This is an unpaid position. Belhaven College (MS): We are hearing that Southern Miss grad assistant Garrett Rayborn has accepted the head strength position at Belhaven College.

University of Virginia: Internship Program - The University of Virginia Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Football Performance Intern for the Fall and Spring semesters. The successful candidate will be required to schedule and maintain a minimum of 20 hours per week with the strength & conditioning department. The program is designed for undergraduate students and the post bachelor professional looking for experience working with elite athletes in a scientifically based and innovative training program.  The daily responsibilities will include: 1. Assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs.    2. Teaching student-athletes proper techniques and equipment use.    3. Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities.    4. Participation in weekly projects and professional development. No monetary compensation will be provided.   Qualifications: Must be self motivated and have a strong work-ethic. Ideal candidates will have a certification from one of the following. Columbia: Former University of Houston assistant, Cat Wade, is joining the Columbia University staff as an assistant strength coach.

LSU: Our sources tell us that former Tennessee Vol and NFL linebacker, Dominique Stevenson, has joined the LSU staff as an assistant strength coach.  Stevenson played on the 1998 national championship team and then with the Buffalo Bills and Washington Redskins.

North Texas: University of Washington assistant strength coach, Charr Gahagan, has accepted the head strength position at UNT. 

University at Albany: Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for full-time strength and conditioning interns for the summer and fall of 2009.  Responsibilities include assisting the head strength and conditioning coach in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, for Football and Men's Basketball intercollegiate athletic teams.  Additional responsibilities will be to provide daily weight room supervision, daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with and conduct periodic performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned.
