Duke: Harvard assistant strength coach Daniel Perlmutter has joined the Duke staff.

Green Bay Packers: Dave Redding has been hired as head strength coach.

Richmond: As FootballScoop reported earlier, former Tennessee assistant Chris Stewart has joined the Richomond staff as head strength coach.

South Carolina: We hear Louisville assistant strength coach Joe Connolly will be joining the staff at South Carolina under new head strength coach Craig Fitzgerald.

Tampa Bay Bucs: Kurtis Shultz has been promoted the head strength coach.  Chris Keenan will serve as an assistant strength coach.

Duke: Our sources tell us that the assistant director of strength & conditioning at Harvard has accepted a position at Duke.  We hear he will head up the Olympic programs at Duke.

The Villanova Strength & Conditioning staff is hosting the 2009 Villanova Strength & Conditioning Clinic on Saturday March 7th at the Pavilion on campus. Army: Our sources tell us Army has hired Cal Poly head strength & conditioning coach Brett Gerch in the same capacity.

Auburn: Strength & conditioning GA Paul Creighton has left Auburn to take the defensive GA position at Colorado.

Richmond: We hear Tennessee assistant strength coach Chris Stewart will be named head strength coach at Richmond University.

Iowa State: Our sources tell us that Iowa State is close to hiring Rice University head strength coach Yancy McKnight.

Iowa: We hear Colgate head strength coach Rusty Burney will accept an assistant strength position at Iowa.

New Mexico: Illinois assistant strength coach Troy Hatten has accepted the head strength position at New Mexico.

Northwestern State: SMU strength coach Joe Long has joined the NSU staff at head strength coach.

Florida Atlantic University: Description: FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY, an NCAA Division 1 institution and member of the Sun Belt Conference invites those interested in pursuing a career in Strength and Conditioning to apply for an internship with the Strength and Conditioning Department. Potential interns will acquire valuable experience and knowledge while being a positive asset to FAU and its student-athletes.  Upon successful completion of this internship, one should posses and demonstrate the required abilities to advance in the field of Strength and Conditioning.  Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength training, conditioning and speed programs designed for 20 varsity teams, weight room upkeep, equipment maintenance and other duties assigned by the full time staff members.  Qualifications: Potential interns must be self motivated and possess a strong interest in becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach.  Candidates should have prior weight room experience via previous coaching experience and/or a background as a competitive athlete. In addition, candidates should be pursuing or just completed a Bachelors or Masters degree in exercise science or a related field a well as working towards a certification with the CSCCa or NSCA.  Compensation: Class credit toward graduation requirements, valuable experience and knowledge and earned recommendation to pursue the next step in your career.
