Nevada: The University of Nevada Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach position.  This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Wolf Pack Strength and Conditioning Department in all facets of training and upkeep of the facility.  The successful candidate will also be assigned sport teams yet to be determined.  A Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field is required.  Applicants must be accepted into a Graduate Program at the University of Nevada.  Experience in a collegiate athletic setting and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level is preferred.  Certifications in one or all of the following:  SCCC, C.S.C.S., USAW is preferred, but not required.  Compensation will be $16,800 for a 12-month period, including tuition (up to 6 credits per semester) and health benefits.  This position will start immediately and will be open until filled. The University of Nevada is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. To apply, please send cover letter, resume and three professional references to Matt Eck via email to

Villanova University: The Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for unpaid internship opportunities during the summer semesters. The summer semesters will run from June 13th - August 1st. These dates may be adjusted if necessary. Selected interns will assist in all facets of training Villanova’s Football Team. Other duties include maintenance and upkeep of the training facility. Qualifications: Applicants must possess a strong work ethic and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Previous collegiate football playing experience or time spent in a collegiate football training environment are encouraged but not required.  Applicants should be certified or in pursuit of a certification from the NSCA, CSCCa or USAW. Internship credits, if applicable, may be received toward your degree. Deadline for application materials is June 1st. University of Memphis: Strength and Conditioning Department is in search of aspiring strength professionals to fill two (2) Paid Summer Internship positions.  The role works primarily with the Tiger Football team throughout the summer while assisting with any other teams per the request of the Director of Strength and Conditioning.  Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist Strength and Conditioning Staff in all facets of implementation of weight training programs, aid in the instruction of safe and proper weight training techniques, maintain team and individual records, assist in the regular maintenance and upkeep of the facility, motivate both small and large groups of student-athletes, and have a passion for the strength and conditioning field.  The prospective worker will gain valuable collegiate level work experience and exposure through various training modalities centered around vertical integration, Bod Pod assessment, Polar Team2 Heart Rate System usage, orthopedic assessment, and sport massage.  At conclusion of the Summer Internship, there will be a potential opportunity to stay on the staff as a Graduate Assistant working primarily with Olympic athletic teams as well as assisting with the Football team beginning in the Fall 2011 school year.  Advancement is based on performance and compatibility within the Tiger Strength department as well as acceptance in the Graduate School at the University.  Interested individuals with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science or related field, previous experience working in team setting weight training, current or working towards certification with the NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa, and current CPR/AED First Aid Certification.  Send all applications to include letter, resume, and three (3) references to Josh Medler at in a timely fashion to be considered for a position.  AA/EOE

New Mexico Military Institute: announces the vacancy of the full-time, 12-month position of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Responsibilities include assisting in the implementation of the in-season and off-season strength & conditioning programs, assisting in the implementation of the physical training/testing for the Corps of Cadets, teaching proper lifting technique to student athletes, teaching strength and conditioning classes, maintaining the strength and conditioning facilities, and any other tasks assigned. Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred. A certification or working towards a certification with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW must be provided.  Previous experience in leading training sessions, collegiate athletics or competitive weightlifting is a plus. Salary is $35,000-40,000. Excellent benefits available. NMMI is a state supported college preparatory high school and transfer junior college operating within a military environment.  Prior Military experience not required.
