Massachusetts: The University of Massachusetts Football Strength and Conditioning Department is looking for motivated individuals who are interested in Spring volunteer internship positions. A background in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Kinesiology or related field is preferred but not required. Applicants should also be in pursuit of obtaining a CSCS, USAW, or SCCC certification as well as being CPR certified. Individuals who apply should be highly motivated, have strong work ethic, be punctual, and have a strong desire to become a future strength and conditioning coach. Daily duties will consist of aiding the strength and conditioning staff with assessments of student athletes, sitting in on meetings when designing programs, implementation of programs, performing proper lifting techniques, motivating athletes, and general maintenance/cleaning of the strength and conditioning facility. Interns will receive experience working at a Division I program, better understand program design, and have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Wisconsin-Whitewater: Whitewater is looking for interns in the strength and conditioning department for for Spring Semester 2014 (Feb. 1-May 9). This is an UNPAID internship but great opportunity to gain experience. Duties: Assist S & C coordinator with all aspects of training for all varsity sports. Provide leadership and instruction in the athletic development of student athletes to include skill analysis, teach proper technique and adapt workouts to match each sports specific need. Provide encouragement, motivate, and give feedback to student athletes to ensure maximum development of athletic potential. Assist with outside activities as assigned by S & C Coach. Job Requirements: Strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. Excellent work ethic. Ability to adapt to schedule changes. CPR/First Aid certified. Desired Skills: Knowledge and experience in all areas of strength training including Olympic style lifting as well as speed, agility, plyometric, flexibility and conditioning methods. Georgia Southern: Sources tell us Sam Houston head strength coach Kyle Speer will join Willie Fritz at GSU.

Louisville: Western Kentucky associate head strength and conditioning coach Scott Wilks will move to Louisville with Bobby Petrino according to Bowling Green Daily News writer Chad Bishop. 

Alabama A&M: Strength and conditioning coach James Hester has been retained by new head coach James Spady.

Florida A&M: Florida A&M University, an NCAA Division I member of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, invites applications for the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaching position. This is a full-time, twelve-month position. A bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field required, masters preferred. 1-2 years of related experience in strength and conditioning at the collegiate level required. CSCCa-SCCC or NSCA-CSCS certification required. The individual hired will be responsible for assisting the director of strength and conditioning with Florida A&M University’s men’s and women’s varsity sport programs including football. Ohio Northern: Ohio Northern University is accepting applications for a Strength and Conditioning intern for the remainder of the Spring 2014 semester. Responsibilities include: assisting in the supervision and training of the Football program; assisting with daily maintenance, administrative duties and completion of educational assignments. Preferred qualifications include: pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree in Exercise Science related field; current SCCC and/or CSCS certification; CPR certification and previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletics experience. Arkansas State: We hear that Ole Miss assistant strength coach Matt Shadeed is heading to Arkansas State and Mercer assistant director of strength and conditioning Shelton Stevens will be joining his staff.
