Western Illinois University: Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for full-time strength and conditioning interns for the summer 2009 and 2009/2010 academic semesters. Responsibilities include assisting the head strength and conditioning coach in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, and recuperative programs for 20 intercollegiate athletic teams. Additional responsibilities will be to provide daily weight room supervision, daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with and conduct periodic performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or completing their degree in an Exercise Science undergraduate/graduate program and should be certified in CPR/AED and be working towards certification from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSCCa, USAW, ACSM, or NASM. Previous experience in strength and conditioning in an intercollegiate athletics environment preferred. Position: This is a non-paid internship position. The successful applicant(s) will receive course credit towards graduation (if applicable) and Division-I/Missouri Valley Football Conference and Summit League (Olympic Sports) strength and conditioning experience. Missouri State: Our sources tell us Western Kentucky assistant strength coach Todd Riedel has been hired as assistant director of strength & conditioning.
New York Jets: Former Cleveland Browns assistant Ryan Cidzik has joined the Jets' strength staff. Former Everton FC (Liverpoool Soccer) strength coach Kyle Thorne has also joined the strength staff.

Charleston Southern University: This is an un-paid internship that gives a person the chance to work with an NCAA Division I athletics program. You will get the chance to learn about many different styles of strength training programs at the college level. You will get hands on experience in working with college athletes during their in & off seasons. You will also be exposed to speed development and conditioning programs for different sports. Towson University: invites applications for an assistant strength coach position. The primary responsibility of the position will be working with football and possibly one or two additional sports. This individual will be responsible for leading every aspect of player development with regard to the football program under the supervision of the Director of Strength & Conditioning and the Head Football Coach. Duties: Leading all aspects of the strength and conditioning program for football team, including on-field game day responsibilities; participation in practice sessions, coaches meetings and recruiting events in addition to all off-season and in-season training responsibilities. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa (CSCC) with USAW certification is preferred. Prior experience at the collegiate level working directly with football is required. Extensive coaching experience with free weights, Olympic lifts, and additional sports preferred.
