Nova Southeastern University: Graduate Assistant Position Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale Fl. DESCRIPTION: Assist the Head and Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coaches with supervision of all Division II teams. Applicant will be responsible for design, implementation and supervision of strength, speed, and conditioning programs for his or her assigned teams. Applicant must possess good organizational, communication and leadership skills. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have experience with Olympic Sports. Individual should posses an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or related field. Personal qualifications desired are a highly motivated individual that is professional and dependable. Candidate must be accepted into the Nova Southeastern University graduate program. Prior experience as an intern in a collegiate strength and conditioning program is a strongly preferred. West Virginia: Our sources tell us that Minnesota Vikings assistant Byran Fitzpatrick will be joining the staff at WVU as an assistant strength coach. Fitzpatrick served on the staff at Penn State for 2 years before joining the Vikings' staff.
University of Wyoming: Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. General Duties/Description: Design, develop and deliver comprehensive and coordinated training programs to designated Intercollegiate Athletic teams. Establish performance measures and targets. Organize teaching sequences of training techniques for fall orientation and throughout the year. Teach proper execution of techniques and safety for lifts and drills. Applicant must possess a strong knowledge of teaching technique of Olympic-style lifting exercises. Evaluate training phases and coordinate and conduct testing, compile and communicate test results. Assist with programs as required by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. Assist with the day to day cleaning, maintenance and operation of all training facilities. Be flexible to work irregular hours. Accept other duties as assigned by Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. Effectively work, write, speak and communicate with staff, administrators and other coaches in the athletic department. Nova Southeastern University: Our sources have just told us that Rene Pena has resigned as the head strength & conditioning coach at Nova Southeastern. Pena was the first ever head strength coach at the university and will now leave after 3 years.
