Nova Southeastern University: a member of the Sunshine State Conference located in Fort Lauderdale, Fl is currently accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength Coach. This position is looking to be filled as soon as possible. The position is responsible in assisting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in all departmental functions. The successful candidate will have full responsibility of two to three teams and will assist with the implementation of strength training, conditioning, speed/agility, flexibility and recovery workouts for all 16 athletic teams. Qualifications: The GA positions require 30-35 hours per week, may include flexible hours, evenings and weekends, and are 10-month renewable appointments. Meeting graduate school entrance requirements and being accepted into the school. Personal qualities desired are very professional, dependable, good people skills and judgment, with exceptional communication and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Office is required. Compensation includes: Annual stipend of up to $10,000 (based on $1000/month for a 10-month period). Tuition scholarship of up to $10,000 a year, Meal plan of $1,000 ,Student fees of $500. Northwestern State University: Strength and Conditioning program located in Natchitoches, Louisiana is currently in the process of accepting applications for strength and conditioning graduate assistant starting Spring 2010. Responsibilities will include assisting the Director of Strength and Conditioning in all aspects of developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for 14 intercollegiate athletic teams. Work with both men's and women's sports as assigned by director of strength and conditioning. Provide proper instruction for safe and effective lifting techniques and equipment usage. Supervise day-to-day activities in the strength facility. Assist with and conduct periodic performance and strength testing. The candidate must have a bachelor's degree with preferred emphasis in the exercise sciences, and extensive knowledge of Olympic lifts. The candidate must also have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach.  Preferred experience includes coaching strength and conditioning for intercollegiate athletes, playing intercollegiate athletics. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access is recommended. CSCS and USAW certification is also preferred. Position offer contingent upon admission to graduate program at Northwestern State University. Ohio State: The Ohio State University, Football Performance Intern - Off-season 2010. Description:  The Ohio State Football Strength and Conditioning coaches are accepting applications for the position of Football Performance Intern for the Winter off-season and spring football (15-weeks).  There is one position available and the position will start on January 11, 2010 and run through April 30, 2010.  This is a highly competitive and demanding internship.  The daily responsibilities will include:  1. Assist with supervision and execution of strength training, speed, and conditioning programs for all Ohio State Buckeye football student-athletes. 2. Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities. 3. Participation in professional development curriculum and various projects. 4. Assist with implementation of NFL draft training for outgoing Ohio State Buckeye student-athletes. Charleston Southern University: Strength & Condition is accepting applications for spring semester Internship Strength & Conditioning Internship Charleston Southern is accepting applications for Strength & Conditioning Internships.  Internships are available at the beginning of every semester; summer, fall, and spring.  This is an up-paid internship working with Division 1 (FCS Football) athletics program.  Candidates will get the opportunity to get hands on experience with In-Season and Off-Season training programs for a variety of sport programs.  Also there is a program curriculum required to be completed during the

Baylor University: Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for Spring 2010 Athletic Performance Interns.  Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Completion of various educational assignments
during the internship.  Intern qualifications include: Strong work ethic; Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Desire to further one's career in the strength and conditioning field; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week.  Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification; CPR certification. Florida Atlantic University: Spring semester internship: Description: FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY, a NCAA Division 1 institution and member of the Sun Belt Conference invites those interested in pursuing a career in Strength and Conditioning to apply for a spring semester internship with the Strength and Conditioning Department. Potential interns will acquire valuable experience and knowledge while being a positive asset to FAU and its student-athletes.  Upon successful completion of this internship, one should posses and demonstrate the required abilities to advance in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength training, conditioning and speed programs designed for 19 varsity teams, weight room upkeep, equipment maintenance and other duties assigned by the full time staff members. There will be an opportunity to have responsibility over 1 or more sports teams TBD by your prior experience, knowledge and skill level. Qualifications: Potential interns must be self motivated and possess a strong interest in becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach.  Candidates should have prior weight room experience via previous coaching experience and/or a background as a competitive athlete. In addition, candidates should be pursuing or just completed a Bachelors or Masters degree in exercise science or a related field a well as working towards a certification with the CSCCa or NSCA. Compensation: Class credit toward graduation requirements, valuable experience and knowledge and earned recommendation to pursue the next step in your career. Youngstown State University: seeks applicants for the position of Strength and Conditioning Intern for the Spring '10 semester. This internship will provide an intensive, hands-on approach to the principles and methods of strength & conditioning covered in a modern sports performance program. Responsibilities:  Strength Intern will be responsible to assist the Strength and Condition Staff in all aspects of need. Recording of data, transference of data, spotting and safety duties,  maintenance of the strength training facility and other duties assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach or related staff. Qualifications:  Bachelor's Degree required, First Aid and CPR certified. Certified or working toward the CSCS or other certification and Division I coaching experience. This position requires background knowledge in Kinesiology or a related field and as well as the ability to teach exercise safety as well as enforce weight room rules and regulations.
