Arizona State University: Sports Performance Internship . Job Description: The goal of our program is to provide an encompassing view of collegiate strength and conditioning, including programming, exercise technique, facility upkeep and exposure to a diverse array of 21 sports in a high paced environment. As an intern in the ASU Sports Performance program you will have the opportunity to gain real world in the trenches coaching experience; you will also learn under the bar while training in the program. Aside from the daily duties required of the position there will be assigned readings and projects to further the development of your knowledge base. This internship is designed for you to develop the needed experience and skills to make you a stronger candidate in taking the next step in your coaching career – this typically being a graduate assistant coaching position. This internship is intended for those whose #1 goal is to become a Sports Performance Coach at the collegiate level. Qualifications: In pursuit of or recent completion of a Bachelors or Masters degree in an exercise science related field.  Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. A strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Certification or working towards certification with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW. Compensation: This is an unpaid position with no housing or meal assistance.   Internship credit hours may be obtained. Expansion of your professional network and references. Rice: We hear there is an assistant strength position open at Rice.

University of Southern California: Spring Internship. Department of Strength & Conditioning is accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning Interns and/or Volunteer Assistants for the Spring Semester of 2011.  Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of the University of Southern California’s strength and conditioning programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; completion of educational curriculum and assignments during the internship. Applicants must have a strong work ethic, very reliable, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, CPR/First Aid certification and previous coaching experience. Preferred qualifications include: pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field; NSCA-CPT, CSCS, SCCC, NASM and/or USAW certifications. Individuals chosen for position are subject to University background checks and standard hiring procedures. This is a Non Paid/Volunteer position. Interns and/or Volunteer Assistants will receive experience working at the Division 1/Pacific 10 Conference level and receive college credit (if applicable). East Carolina University:  Strength and Conditioning Intern.  East Carolina Strength and Conditioning has openings for the Spring/Summer 2011.  This is an unpaid position.  The Pirate Strength & Conditioning staff is looking for very motivated and vocal individuals for this position.  The intern must have flexible availability and a drive for excellence in the field of Strength and Conditioning.  The interns daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  1.
