Tennessee State: We hear Alvin Futrell has been promoted to head strength coach.

Louisville: Intern - The University of Louisville Football Strength and Conditioning department is accepting internship applications for the Summer and Fall of 2011. The planned start dates for this internship will be June 2 or August 1 (based upon availability) and will continue through December. This is a full-time unpaid internship, responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with the supervision and training of all Louisville Cardinal football players, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties, and completion of various educational assignments during the internship are also required. Qualifications: All applicants must be highly motivated individuals looking to advance their career in strength and conditioning.  Applicants must demonstrate a strong work ethic, have a desire to learn, and be enthusiastic about improving the performance of our student athletes. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field; eligible to sit for the CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification; CPR certification. Florida: We are hearing that West Virginia assistant Aaron Burkhart will be joining the Florida strength staff.

Cal: Our sources tell us Florida assistant Ted Edwards accepted a position at Cal.

Stanford University: is accepting applications for Intern Sports Performance Coaches to contribute exclusively to the Football program.  This unpaid opportunity provides experience assisting the Football Sports Performance Coordinator implement an individualized, comprehensive injury prevention and performance enhancement program specific to Football. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills.  Achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study in addition to certification as SCCC, CSCS, or USAW with previous experience as a collegiate athlete or intern coach is required.  This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, June 13, 2011 and has the opportunity, based on evaluation, to extend throughout the entire 2011 football season.  Deadline to apply is Sunday, May 8, 2011.
