Marshall: Sources tell us that Central Florida assistant director of strength and conditioning Scott Sinclair has accepted the head strength and conditioning position at Marshall.
Colorado School of Mines: Colorado School of Mines is accepting applications for Summer 2013 Strength and Conditioning Internships in Golden, CO. Applicants must be highly motivated, with a tremendous work ethic. Essential tasks include: aiding the strength and conditioning staff in developing/administering strength and conditioning programs for all sports offered at CSM; work directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique/safety; work directly with the coaching staffs to develop, illustrate, oversee, and document the progress of the student athletes’ sports performance training; maintain and clean the athletic weight room; serve as a positive role model for the all CSM athletes. This is a non-paid position. Interns will have the opportunity to gain credit towards graduation, if applicable, as well as professional experience in the field of strength & conditioning. Before hiring, a background check will need to be completed. Possible Interns should be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field. A Nationally accredited certification is preferred. San Diego Chargers: Kent Johnson has been brought on board to serve as strength and conditioning coach for the franchise. Johnson previously served in the same capacity with the Browns.
University of California: The University of California Golden Bears Department of Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for a spring intern. This is a NON-PAID position. Start date will begin on or around February 1st, 2013. Responsibilities will include: 1) Assist with ADMINISTRATIVE duties of a Pac-12 Football strength & conditioning program. 2) Assist with HANDS ON implementation of a Pac-12 Olympic Sports strength & conditioning program. 3) Daily maintenance of equipment.4) Assist in supervision of training sessions.5) Other duties as assigned by strength & conditioning staff. Preferred applicants would have collegiate athletic playing experience, currently pursuing or have achieved a bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and strong desire to become a College Strength & Conditioning Coach. San Diego Chargers: Strength and conditioning coach Jeff Hurd and assistant strength and conditioning coach Vernon Stephens have been let go according to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

This position will assist the Director of Football Performance with the creation, administration and daily implementation of physical development programs for the Mean Green Football Team.
