Seattle University is seeking applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: assist head strength and conditioning coach in all aspects of developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for 17 intercollegiate athletic teams. Work with both men’s and women’s sports as assigned by head strength and conditioning coach. Provide proper techniques associated with strength and speed development, and attend to the daily maintenance of the training facility. All responsibilities must be in compliance with institutional and NCAA rules and regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field. At least one year experience coaching in a collegiate strength and conditioning program, Adult CPR certification and certified in one of the following organizations: National Strength and Conditioning Association(CSCS) or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC). Candidate must have a strong desire to become strength and conditioning coach. Position offer contingent upon admission into graduate program at Seattle University. Graduates are encouraged to purse a Master of Sports Administration and Leadership. ULL: The University of Louisiana Lafayette's Ragin' Cajuns, a Division 1 member of the Sunbelt Conference, is seeking a highly motivated, self starting, assertive, educated, and ambitious individual to be an intern in the Strength and Conditioning Department.  This is a paid position, offering $1000.00 a month.   The intern will work extensively with the football team during the upcoming summer conditioning program, with some duties as follows:  monitoring athletes on weight gain/ weight loss programs, field set-up, and assisting in the instruction of speed, agility, and conditioning drills, weight room supervision, clean up, and maintenance.  The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in the realm of exercise science, have a strong desire to achieve a career in Strength and Conditioning, be certified in First Aid/CPR, and preferably have collegiate athletic experience.  Time is of the essence.  Please email a cover letter, resume, contact information, and list of references to Coach Rusty Whitt, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, The University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Benedictine University: (Head strength coach) This position is responsible for assisting the football program and the management of the University’s strength and conditioning program. It is essential to foster a cooperative work environment and provide mutual support with all constituencies and colleagues. Represent the Department of Athletics with sportsmanship, integrity and a high degree of professionalism.  Responsible to assist the Offensive coordinator with scouting reports, film editing, game and practice plans, this includes coordinating film exchange with opponents. Assist in the planning, develop, and direction of all team training and conditioning activities in the traditional and nontraditional segment at a level that will place program in a position of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Conference. Coordinate practice field setup, assist with distribution of equipment for games and practices and schedule rooms for team meetings.   Assist in the recruitment of prospective student athletes that allow program to be in a position of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Conference. This will include talent evaluation, coordinating mailings, telephone calls, and email exchanges, monitoring complete recruitment process, on campus and off campus in person contacts. Recruit student athletes in specified areas and/or schools as assigned by the Head Coach. Work with the Recruiting coordinator on identifying prospects and maintaining the recruiting data base.  Responsible and adherence to all NCAA, Northern Athletics (NAC) and institutional rules and regulations.      Develop and implement the Strength Program for Benedictine student athletes. Manage and supervise all aspects of University’s strength and conditioning program. Provide instruction in technique and safety procedures in adherence with NCAA regulations. Supervise schedule and train student workers. Monitor and access all equipment for University fitness rooms. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor degree required, Master’s preferred. Experience: Previous recruiting experience in higher education; collegiate athletics preferred. Specific Skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel knowledge. Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budget management skills and demonstrated supervisory skills.  Valid driver’s license.  CPR/First Aid/ AED certification.  Certification in Strength Training or demonstration of progress toward certification is preferred.  Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable): Supervise student workers.
