Baylor University: Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for Fall 2011 Athletic Performance Interns. Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include: Strong work ethic; Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Desire to further one’s career in the strength and conditioning field; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field; CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification; CPR certification. This is an unpaid internship. Interns will receive experience working in a Big 12 training environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Marshall: Missississippi State assistant James Townsend is the new head strength coach at Marshall.

Missouri Southern State University: an NCAA Division II program part of the MIAA conference located in Joplin, Mo, is currently accepting applications for a strength and conditioning internship. This internship will meet the requirements needed to sit for the CSCCa SCCC certification test. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in overall direction and coordination of strength and conditioning programs for 13 varsity sports. Coordinating with coaching staff of assigned teams to design and implement safe and effective programs. Assist in the every day operations of facility. Applicants must have strong knowledge of teaching technique of Olympic style lifting exercises. Bachelor’s degree required in appropriate field. Prefer at least 1 year experience in a collegiate athletic setting. Committed to the profession of strength and conditioning a must. Experience with computers preferred. University of Rhode Island: is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position of Strength and Conditioning intern for the Fall 2011 semester. Essential job functions for the position include, but are not limited to: assisting the Director of Strength and Conditioning and assistant strength and conditioning coaches in developing and implementing strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for the University’s intercollegiate athletic teams; assessing student-athletes' physical attributes to improve athletic performance; maintaining weight room and equipment; daily contact with sports medicine staff regarding athletic injuries and rehabilitation procedures; input of testing data; provide discipline and motivation to student-athletes to excel and improve; performing miscellaneous related duties when necessary. Merrimack College: located in North Andover, MA is accepting applications for a one year, part time position of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the 2011-2012 academic year.  The Warriors are a member of the Division I Hockey East Conference and Division II Northeast 10 Conference, and currently sponsor 20 varsity intercollegiate sports that provide opportunities for nearly 400 student athletes.Responsibilities for the successful candidate include assisting the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in all aspects of training for 20 varsity athletic programs.  Duties will include teaching student athletes proper technique, weight room supervision and maintenance, program design and implementation, and organization of the day-to-day activities of the strength and conditioning program. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Radford’s 17 Division 1 intercollegiate athletic programs, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties, and completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Qualifications: Candidates must have a strong work ethic, be very reliable, highly motivated, and have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Individuals who are pursuing a degree in an exercise related field (exercise science, kineseology etc)  and who have the desire to work in the field of collegiate strength and conditioning are encouraged to apply.
