University of North Carolina: Football Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for an unpaid internship position with no benefits starting May 10, 2011. The successful candidate will assist with the implementation of sport specific functional strength training programs. North Texas: The University of North Texas Strength and Conditioning Department is looking to fill Internship positions for the Summer 2011.  The responsibilities for this internship position include:  1.) Assist coaches in the training of all UNT athletes.  2.) Perform daily maintenance of weight room and equipment.  3.) University of West Florida: is accepting applications for a qualified, highly motivated Graduate Assistant in Strength and Conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in design and implementation of Strength & Conditioning programs for assigned sports.
Provide proper instruction for safe and effective lifting techniques and equipment usage. Supervising weight room day-to-day activities and conduct periodic performance & strength testing. Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in sports sciences, GRE Completion, CPR certification and certified or working to be certified through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). In order to be awarded the position the candidate must be admitted to graduate school at the University of West Florida. Previous strength coaching experience preferred. Previous athletic experience preferred. Experience with the Olympic lifts and USAW Level 1 certification preferred. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access strongly recommended. Expectations of the intern include the following: Provide safe and effective coaching on all lifts, movement mechanics, soft tissue and mobility/flexibility work. Willingness to assist in daily maintenance and upkeep of both student-athlete facilities. Strong communication, leadership, integrity, self-confidence and a willingness to learn. Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, positivity and a desire to improve one’s self for the possibility of future endeavors in the field. Willingness to work a minimum of 20 hours/week. Preferences of the candidate include the following: Pursuit of future career in strength and conditioning as demonstrated by pursuit of professional certifications (CSCS, CSCC, USAW) and/or continued pursuit of undergraduate degree in a sport science or related field. CPR/First Aid and AED certification. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of strength and cardio equipment. Previous coaching experience in a team setting. University Of Missouri: Department Of Athletic Performance is now accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Intern with 2 positions available.  Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  assistance of supervision for daily activities, set up and break down for daily activities, routine maintenance, weekly projects and reports, and assistance with execution of workout design and implementation for various sports.  There is no monetary compensation provided, however, there will be opportunities for professional development.  All prospective interns are expected to have outstanding work ethics and attention to detail.   Certified individuals are preferred, but it is not a requirement.  Resumes must be in before March 21st. Carolina Panthers: We are hearing Eastern Michigan strength coach Adam Feit has joined the Carolina staff as an assistant strength coach.

Mercer: Mercer University, a Division I member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, is currently accepting applications for the position of two (2) Volunteer Assistant Strength Coaches. The positions are responsible for Assisting the Head Strength Coach in all departmental functions.  Qualifications required are experience with teaching and demonstrating the Olympic lifts, Power lifts and other exercises to collegiate teams; 3+ months experience in writing and implementing sports performance team work outs; an accredited fitness certification (preferably CSCS, USAW, or SCCC).  Applicants should have a strong desire to pursue a career as a full time, collegiate strength & conditioning coach.
