University of Wyoming: Wyoming is seeking applicants for a graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach. General Duties/Description: Design, develop and deliver comprehensive and coordinated training programs for designated Intercollegiate Athletic teams. In partnership with the Head Coach of assigned teams, establish and manage an accountability structure and standards. Establish performance measures and targets. Organize teaching sequences of training techniques for fall orientation and throughout the year.  Teach proper execution of techniques and safety for lifts and drills. Applicant must possess a strong knowledge of teaching technique of Olympic-style lifting exercises. Introduce and teach the objectives of each training phase to student-athletes. Effectively motivate athletes to achieve the maximum potential in all areas of performance. Evaluate training phases and coordinate and conduct testing, compile and communicate test results. Develop summer training manuals. Communicate and work in partnership with athletic trainers to provide an integrated program of injury prevention reconditioning and performance training. Assist with recruiting. Implement and enforce all rules, policies and procedures with regard to the weight room and equipment. Assist with programs as required by the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. Assist with the day to day cleaning, maintenance and operation of the Strength training facility. Be flexible to work irregular hours. Accept other duties as assigned by Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. Effectively work, write, speak and communicate with staff, administrators and other coaches in the athletic department. Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA and the Mountain West Conference is of paramount importance to the University. Eastern Washington: Eastern Washington University is accepting internship applications for the 2012 winter quarter. The planned dates of the internship will be January 9th to March 19th, with the option based on evaluation to extend through June 8th. Interested candidates must be enthusiastic, adaptable, organized, and highly driven, and have interest in pursuing a career as a strength and conditioning coach. Applicants would be working with football, along with another program of their choice. Possibility to design and implement programming for select groups. Achievement or pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field along with certification through the NSCA, CSCCa or USAW is required. University of North Dakota: The University of North Dakota is currently accepting applications for Spring 2012 volunteer interns. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, punctual, enthusiastic and a desire for the strength and conditioning field. Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting strength and conditioning staff in all facets of implementation of training programs, aid in the instruction of safe and proper weight training techniques, assisting with daily administrative duties, participate in educational projects and assignments, assist in the regular maintenance of the facilities. The successful applicant will receive hands on coaching experience at the Division 1 level as well as any applicable college credit. Compensation: This is an unpaid position with no housing or meal assistance.
